It's been a while since I had a meal at Northland! On weekends and holidays, they offer a Chinese lunch buffet! I had to go for it. I called on the day and luckily there was one seat available, so it's better to make a reservation in advance! The buffet is divided into two sessions from 11:30 to 14:30 (1.5 hours each). The adult fee is 1700 yen, elementary school students are 900 yen, and children under elementary school age are free! As soon as I entered the restaurant, I could see why it's so popular! It seemed like a lot of families were there. From salads to noodles (yakisoba, ramen), and all the classic Chinese dishes! My favorite dish, shrimp chili, was all-you-can-eat. So amazing! Since it's a buffet, you can eat as much as you want of your favorite dishes! It's great that you can eat while considering your stomach. There was also soup available, which was a nice palate cleanser. It was a great 1.5 hours enjoying Chinese food! It was a wonderful time! Thank you for the meal.

The staff at the entrance, front desk, and breakfast venue were all very welcoming, with smiles, brightness, attentiveness, and politeness. I was very happy with the service. They also replied politely to my inquiry email before my stay. Thanks to them, my stay in Obihiro was very enjoyable. I visited a nearby day onsen based on the list in the room, and everyone was very satisfied with the excellent spring quality. Now, onto breakfast. It was a buffet with not a large variety of items. The bread, vegetables, and dairy products were delicious. I usually have a sensitive stomach, but I enjoyed the Yotsuba milk. The pork bowl was filling, and I was satisfied. I thought I would never have such an opportunity, but then a trouble came out of the blue! The room's heating suddenly broke down! Luckily, it was early spring, but the mornings and evenings were still below freezing, so we decided to make an emergency escape for just the weekend (;´д｀) While staying in the city center of Obihiro, we also planned to have some fun on the side (lol) ← Surprisingly, not so carefree after all. The Northland Hotel, part of the JR group, was renamed when JAL took over its management. It is a prestigious hotel in Obihiro, with a wedding venue attached. The lounge has a great atmosphere, so I occasionally used it. This was my first time staying at the hotel (^ω^) I made a mistake when booking in a hurry, and ended up bothering the hotel staff (^_^;) Originally, the reservation was subject to a 100% cancellation fee, but the hotel staff canceled it and changed it to a reservation through the official website. When I mentioned that I was a One Harmony member of the Okura Nikko Hotel Group, they gave me a discount. The accommodation fee was 6,000 yen per person → 5,500 yen, and the parking fee was usually 1,200 yen → 600 yen. This was so nice!! The staff's response was great, so we decided to have lunch at the hotel lounge "Aurora". Beef stew and pot-au-feu were on the menu, but we decided on this month's pasta (with a drink) for 1,300 yen. The pasta for March was scallop and sakura shrimp cream pasta. The sakura shrimp and spinach added a spring-like color. After taking a bite, I thought... this is delicious! The rich and flavorful sauce coated the noodles well. The hot pasta warmed my cold mouth and even my heart. Oh, I forgot to mention something important. As a Premium Selection benefit, we were entitled to a welcome drink, and I thought we would receive a bottle of water, but we were actually offered a complimentary drink such as coffee or orange juice at the lounge☆ I was even more delighted!! (≧∀≦) Now, let's relax in the room. The facility, celebrating its 25th anniversary, may have a bit of age, but it is well-maintained. The aroma in the entrance and corridors is a natural and elegant scent, making you feel elegant with every step. I thought it was roses, but I also sensed a citrusy aroma like Earl Grey tea. The room is clean, spacious, and has a sense of cleanliness that exceeds expectations. Even compared to neighboring hotels, the accommodation fee is very reasonable.

It was a buffet-style breakfast. I sat down with a modest amount of food, and then a staff member appeared and asked for my breakfast ticket. I didn't have one, as I hadn't received it. The staff confirmed with the front desk and informed me that breakfast was not included in my reservation. I was surprised and embarrassed as I had already started eating. I ended up paying ¥2,000 for breakfast. It was all my fault for assuming wrongly. I learned my lesson and will make sure to double-check next time. The total cost for the hotel stay and breakfast ended up being over ¥9,000. It was a shock, but it was my own responsibility. I will definitely include breakfast in my reservation next time. I have only been to this hotel for lunch buffet and wedding receptions before. I didn't know they had a course menu for dinner. The sashimi came with a variety of condiments and was delicious. The abalone was decent. The surprising part was that the course included a pork bowl. Truly a taste of Tokachi.

Breakfast and Western buffet for 2000 yen. There are also some Tokachi specialties like pork bowl, soup curry, rice condiments, yogurt, etc. It's nice to see Inca's Awakening potatoes. The freshly ground green pepper sprinkled on the pork bowl is the best. The meat is tender and delicious.

Accommodation in Obihiro is here... The rooms and service are at a satisfactory level. However, I wonder about the breakfast... It could use some improvement. There wasn't really anything that made me want to eat. There were a lot of pre-packaged items.

I haven't stayed in a hotel recently. I stayed at a high-class hotel in Obihiro with a good location. Staying at the same hotel multiple times can get boring, right? It's been over a year since my last stay, so I'm curious about breakfast. The breakfast venue hasn't changed, but the name of the restaurant has changed? It's not China J, it's Restaurant J now. The atmosphere is the same, and the food layout is similar. I checked out the dishes that were already lined up, and while they were not bad, there wasn't anything particularly special. The pork bowl, common in Obihiro hotel breakfasts, is a staple. Grilled salmon chan-chan yaki is a bit unusual. There's also the Hokkaido staple soup curry. Since the area is close to a soba production area, they also have Shin-toku soba. There aren't many exciting dishes. There is a decent variety, but the pork in the pork bowl was tough. The soup curry was delicious. I think it would have been even more delicious if they could have added more types of ingredients. It's a bit of an unsatisfying experience. The hotel's grade and location are good. The room was a bit lacking, but I plan to stay here again after some time.

This is a top-class hotel in Obihiro. I have stayed here a few times, but it has been a while since my last visit. I arrived around 8 o'clock and although it wasn't full, some tables were occupied. It doesn't seem to have changed much. I had the classic pork bowl, Genghis Khan, and a few other dishes. They were delicious, slightly better than average. Overall, I think it's a good hotel. I might come back again after some time.

When traveling in Hokkaido, I had a meal in Obihiro before returning to the hotel for the night. The hotel I stayed at was Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro, located in front of JR Obihiro Station. The lobby was empty as it was before 9 pm. I went back to my Twin A room, which was spacious at 22.1m² with a TV on the wall and a decently sized bathroom with bath amenities. After a shower and a Highball, I went to bed early and woke up at 6:30 am to rain outside. I had breakfast at the restaurant "J" on the first floor, which offered a diverse buffet of Japanese and Western dishes. I indulged in sausages, Eggs Benedict, and local specialties like Tokachi sweet potatoes and pork bowl. The meal was satisfying, and I even tried some hot spring eggs. Overall, the food was delicious, and I enjoyed my stay at the hotel.

The staff is friendly and if you call ahead, you can reserve your preferred table. Even with my 3-year-old and 1-year-old, we were able to enjoy our meal comfortably.
