I visited for brunch on Saturday. After watching the Paris Olympic opening ceremony until dawn, I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. I headed to Solamachi at Tokyo Skytree for lunch, but it was incredibly hot, and the area was extremely crowded. Students are on summer vacation, after all! Additionally, I spotted a few women in yukatas, as today was the Sumida River Fireworks Festival! Despite the heat, I looked for a restaurant a little away from the Skytree. I found a place about 1-2 minutes on foot from Exit B1 of Oshiage Station, decorated with congratulatory flowers for its opening. I entered at 11:45 AM. The interior was bright and very clean, with pretty flowers on the tables. The seating included two four-person tables, two two-person tables, one round table for about four people, and three counter seats. Upon entering at 11:40 AM, there were six customers ahead of me. I was told, "Please take any seat you like!" so I sat at the furthest back table. The staff explained that orders were to be placed via a QR code and payment was cashless. Also, water was self-serve. It turned out that I needed a smartphone with LINE to place my order. Thankfully, I was able to order using another smartphone that had LINE. It seems you have to become a friend on LINE as well. I ordered the "Bread Deli Plate" for 1,100 yen. It was served in about 13 minutes. The Bread Deli Plate included two pieces of toasted baguette, a sunny-side-up egg, sautéed mushrooms, fresh vegetables, pickled purple cabbage, and mixed grain rice. The egg was cooked just to my liking with a runny yolk, which I enjoyed topping on the baguette. It would have been nice to have salt and pepper on the table. Given the hot day, the pickled purple cabbage and vegetable salad were refreshing and delicious. The sautéed mushrooms were also very tasty. The kitchen staff consisted of three people, and there was one young and energetic server. Especially, the female server was polite in her greetings and explanations, and her smile was wonderful. By before noon, the place was nearly full with couples. Solo diners quickly did their payments. Payment was made at the cashier near the entrance, accepting cards and cashless options like PayPay. Thank you for the meal!
