Last year, I finally got to go to a restaurant I've been wanting to try for a long time. It's called "Farm Restaurant Udocsha" in Biei, Hokkaido. The lunch menu was limited, but I ended up choosing the "Rain Set" which included delicious dishes like Biei pork hamburger stew, cheese-fried zucchini flowers, pumpkin salad, eggplant and okra simmered in soy sauce, soup, and dessert. The highlight of the meal was the zucchini flower rice, which I had been eager to try since last year. It exceeded my expectations with its unique and delicious flavor. The restaurant uses mostly homemade vegetables, giving the dishes a fresh and vibrant taste. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were busy but friendly. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience that I highly recommend to others.

I saw it in the guidebook and rushed to the restaurant by driving a rental car to make it in time for the last order at 2 o'clock. It was a bit hard to find the place with the navigation system. There were no other customers. I ordered the "Sunny Plate" for ¥900. The menu seems to change daily, and I got a light summer vegetable tomato curry, corn soup, tomato salad, and freshly fried new potatoes. It was a tomato lover's dream! The curry was on the sweeter side. The fried potatoes were amazing!!! They were crispy on the outside and sweet on the inside. The staff was calm and the atmosphere was nice, with a warm wooden interior. If you come to Biei, this is a restaurant you must visit again.

I visited this restaurant while driving in Biei. It is located in the middle of the Patchwork Road. The building has turned the first floor of a private house into a dining area, making it feel like it blends right into the landscape of Biei. Outside the restaurant, they also sell tomatoes on a self-service basis. I saw people riding bicycles around, munching on tomatoes. The interior of the restaurant has only tatami seating. I ordered the Ame no Zen set meal, which allows you to choose between regular rice, tomato ginger rice, or zucchini flower rice. I decided to go for the zucchini flower rice, even though it was the most expensive option. It came with tomato somen noodles, cut tomatoes, and more. My companion ordered the Hare no Zen set meal, which included a vegetable curry that we also tried a bit of. We also had a glass of milk for an additional 250 yen. The zucchini flower rice was particularly delicious, with cheese-flavored rice stuffed into zucchini flowers and fried. It was a unique and tasty dish that I really enjoyed. The somen noodles and other side dishes were decent, typical countryside fare. The cut tomatoes served were plentiful and tasted fresh and not too sour. The restaurant seems to take pride in their tomatoes, which would delight tomato lovers. I overheard another customer praising the tomato ginger rice to the staff, which made me wish I had tried it too. The curry was a light and vegetable-heavy dish with a medium level of spiciness, suitable for children as well.

To Biei we go. After exploring nature, we headed to our desired restaurant, Farm Amado Sha in Biei. - It's closed from early winter to spring, from November to before Golden Week. - It's been two years since I last visited, just like the previous restaurant "Kikage". - I was worried if it was still open, so I called and confirmed that it was. - It may be a bit tricky to find using navigation, but you'll manage (laughs). - The atmosphere inside hasn't changed much, with traditional Japanese seating where you take off your shoes before entering. There are 5 counter seats, 4-6 person tables, and a small table for 2 in the back. The wooden tables give a cozy feel. - The menu consists of two lunch options: "Rain Set" for 900 yen and "Sunny Plate" for 900 yen. - The interior is spacious with a high ceiling, giving a relaxed vibe. The upper floors are apparently living spaces. - The service may seem a bit inexperienced, with slow water refills and a lack of efficiency, but it adds to the charm of the place. It's a slow-paced environment, so it's best enjoyed when you have time to spare. - The menu booklet reveals that they offer vegetable delivery services from their farm and have cottages for rent. You can experience staying in Biei and even participate in vegetable harvesting and farm work during busy seasons. - For more details, visit http://www.udocsha.jp/index.html. - As I was talking, the food arrived. Rain Set: - Biei pork and shredded cabbage stew - Yuba and Somen pumpkin - Miso soup with radish, zucchini, and Swiss chard - Zucchini flower rice Sunny Plate: - Shiretoko chicken and tomato curry - Somen pumpkin tuna mayo salad - Purple cabbage choux cream - After the meal, we had hot coffee, milk cafe au lait, and Black's tomato juice. The drinks cost 400 yen each, except when ordered with a meal, they are 200 yen. The tomato juice is 50 yen more expensive. - The tomato juice was a hit, even with my child who doesn't usually drink it. - It had been two years, but we still enjoyed a leisurely and delicious meal. I might try their vegetable delivery service next time. - A must-visit restaurant in Biei. Thank you for the meal, we'll be back.

When entering a building with a serene atmosphere that matches the natural surroundings, one feels like time is flowing differently from the city. The owner uses vegetables grown with care to create delicious dishes. The vegetables were truly delicious. It felt like the owner was running the restaurant while also growing the vegetables. The dishes served were tasty and showcased the natural flavors of the ingredients. There were only a few customers during my visit, so I had a pleasant chat with the owner and received a business card and a souvenir on my way out. The business card had the word "farmer" written before the owner's name, which left a lasting impression. I would like to visit this restaurant again when I travel to the Biei or Furano area.
