At night, I had lunch at a delicious sake bar. The menu offers a choice of three different weekly set meals. I chose the Shrimp and Nanohana Salt Stir-Fry Set Meal (1100 yen). The small side dishes were lined up beautifully, offering a variety of flavors to enjoy. The shrimp was large and had a satisfying texture, making me feel happy. In addition to the shrimp, there were large eringi mushrooms and nanohana, all coated in a tasty salt sauce that went well with the rice. The sesame dressing and nuts on the steamed chicken, the comforting spinach ohitashi, and the sweet minced radish were all delicious side dishes that surrounded me with happiness in this cozy restaurant.

Kuriya 2023.03.02 Today, I decided to visit "Tabenomidokoro Kuriya" for lunch, a delicious Japanese izakaya that I haven't been to in a while. The restaurant is located in Obihiro, along Nishi 1-jo Street, near the Ito Micro Store on the north side of the street. It used to be the location of the former Nigomi restaurant. The exterior of the restaurant remains the same with a two-story brown brick wall building, except for the entrance area. Inside, there are 5 counter seats, 1 table for 2, and 3 tables for 4. The lunch menu consists of three weekly set meals: A) Shrimp Chili Set Meal for 1,100 yen (with 4 small side dishes), B) Chicken and Green Onion Stir-Fry Set Meal for 1,000 yen (with 4 small side dishes), and C) Pork Bowl Set Meal for 1,000 yen (with 4 small side dishes). I ordered the B) Chicken and Green Onion Stir-Fry Set Meal for 1,100 yen (tax included) and added a single Pork Bowl for 600 yen (tax included). The small side dishes included in today's set meal were: Chicken and Green Onion Stir-Fry, Simmered Daikon Radish, Simmered Butterbur, Spinach Ohitashi, Miso-Marinated Chicken Breast, Pickled Vegetables, Rice, and Miso Soup. The chicken in the stir-fry was tender and flavorful, with a nice saltiness from the green onions. The pork bowl had a slightly bitter and dark appearance but was light and delicious in taste. All the side dishes had a homely and gentle flavor, and I enjoyed the thoughtful service from the lady (I assume) who refilled our water and tea promptly. It was a pleasant and satisfying lunch experience. I look forward to coming back for dinner next time. Thank you for the delicious meal. Tabenomidokoro Kuriya - Business Hours: 11:30-14:30, 17:00-last - Closed on Mondays (closed for lunch on Sundays)

I went to eat lunch at Kuria, a dining place in Obihiro (^-^). It came with a variety of small dishes like tempura, simmered dishes, ohitashi, and bam-bam-jee? The bam-bam-jee dish was especially delicious (๑♡∀♡๑).

I visited Kuriya for lunch around 12:30. Today, I had the Shrimp Chili Set for 1100 yen and the Chicken Soboro Bowl Set for 900 yen. There were about 4 customers ahead of me, so I received my food in about 15 minutes. The shrimp in the Shrimp Chili was firm and delicious, with a spicy flavor. The side dish, a sweet simmered dish, was also flavorful. The Chicken Soboro Bowl had a generous amount of rice, and the ginger-flavored chicken soboro with raw egg was a perfect combination. Overall, the food was delicious. They started closing up around 1 pm, so it seems like this place tends to finish lunch service around that time.

Today I had lunch at Kuriya-san. There were three lunch options available today. I ordered the shrimp and mushroom set for 1100 yen. It arrived in about 7 minutes. The side dishes are beautifully arranged. The shrimp in the main dish was plump and large! Each side dish has a delicious taste. The menu changes daily, so it's nice to have different options each time you visit. Today, there were also fried chicken and curry lunches available.

I went to a restaurant called Kuruya, which specializes in food and drinks! I visited for lunch. The previous store was relocated in the city, so a new one has opened there. They also operate as an izakaya serving yakitori in the evening. The interior of the store seems to be the same as the previous one. The lunch menu consists of three options on the blackboard. I ordered the B: Buta Rosu Wasabi Yaki Teishoku for 1,000 yen (comes with four small side dishes). The staff seemed to be a couple and they were both very quiet. The service was very polite and impressive. The food was served quickly and was ready in 5 minutes. Wow! The number of side dishes was impressive! Although each dish was small, it seemed like it would be popular with women. Let's dig in! The main pork dish had a salty and wasabi flavor. It was delicious! This is the kind of dish that makes you want more rice. There is a special sauce available, but it's also delicious without it. The side dishes had a gentle flavor that brought out the taste of the ingredients. A well-balanced and nutritious lunch. It was delicious. I would like to try the yakitori at night as well. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing up some business at a hospital in Otofuke-cho, I stayed overnight in Obihiro. I searched on Tabelog for izakayas near the hotel, and found that the closest one was closed. The next izakaya had 3 customers already, and the smoke from cigarettes inside the restaurant was overwhelming. So, I decided to visit "Kuriya," a restaurant and bar located behind the hotel. We arrived at 9:00 PM and there were no other customers, making it a very quiet atmosphere. We sat at the counter and looked at the menu. We ordered two draft beers first. The owner brought us the beers, and we then ordered pork skewers with sauce, chicken skin, tsukune (chicken meatballs), and two pieces of Shihoro beef skewers with salt. We also ordered two pieces of grilled tsubugai (whelk). The Shihoro beef with wasabi was served first. It was a bit dry, but the wasabi paired well with it. The other skewers were average. The tsubugai was surprisingly large for the price, but the whelk inside was a smaller species than the usual shellfish. I felt like the menu was a bit limited. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you and goodbye.

I had a rare weekday off and decided to spend the morning relaxing at home before heading out for lunch. I came across a new restaurant called Kuria that I had heard about recently. Upon entering, I was shown a board with lunch menu options to choose from. I decided on the Teriyaki Chicken set meal for 1000 yen. The presentation of the meal was beautiful, with colorful and nutritious side dishes like boiled vegetables, meat and potato stew, and chicken miso peanut salad. The main dish, Teriyaki Chicken, was flavorful and paired well with the rice. After finishing my meal, I looked at the evening menu which mainly consisted of grilled chicken dishes. I was intrigued by the variety of fried and grilled items, as well as rice dishes like onigiri and chicken rice bowl. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and I would love to come back for dinner sometime.

Today, I visited a newly opened izakaya restaurant for lunch called "Kuriya" in Obihiro. The location is along Nishi 1-jo Street, near the Ito Micro Store on Telegraph Street, north of the previous location of Nami (Nagomi) restaurant. The exterior remains the same with a brown brick wall, while the interior has a counter with 6 seats, a table for 2, and 3 tables for 4. The lunch menu offers three options that change weekly: A) Hirekatsu set meal for 1,100 yen, B) Tempura set meal for 1,000 yen, and C) Torisoboro don set meal for 900 yen. I chose the B) Tempura set meal for 1,000 yen and added a Torisoboro don for 600 yen. The tempura set included shrimp, eggplant, bell pepper, and pumpkin tempura, chicken meat and potato stew, pumpkin side dish, spinach ohitashi, kinpira gobou, pickles, rice, and miso soup. The tempura was crispy and delicious, while the Torisoboro don was flavorful with a hint of ginger. The owners, a friendly young couple, offered me more rice and made my dining experience enjoyable. I will definitely come back for lunch again. Thank you for the delicious meal, Kuriya!

Shosamporo resident B-ko contacted me saying, "Newly Opened, looking forward to it! (^^)" and I visited the restaurant called Kuriya for eating and drinking. The location has recently moved to the city center, so I informed them that it is now called "Enka Wa", and before that it was called "Orimo". After receiving the information, I passed by the front of the restaurant several times, and then made a phone reservation just in case. They mentioned that there are only three parking spaces in front of the restaurant, so carpooling is recommended if possible. It is also okay to park vertically in a tight space, but be careful as the spaces at both ends are for residents of the apartment building. The menu includes a set meal where you choose from two main dishes along with small side dishes, as well as three types of rice bowls. They do not serve Sunday lunch, and the menu changes weekly. My companion A chose the Shosamporo beef dice steak set meal for 1100 yen, so as I had meat the day before, I chose the tempura set meal for 1000 yen. We entered the restaurant before opening time, but there were already other customers present. The food arrived in about 15 minutes. I didn't pay much attention to the menu, but the small side dishes were five in total, not four as I initially thought. The tempura main dish included shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, green peppers, and eggplant. I added grated daikon radish to the tempura dipping sauce and enjoyed the plump shrimp. The miso soup had a light and delicious broth made from dried sardines. The other small side dishes included chicken and potatoes, sautéed burdock root, chicken in sauce, spinach with broth, and pickles. These were not just a random assortment of side dishes, but each was carefully prepared, which I appreciated. The dice steak I tasted was tender with a good amount of meat flavor. The wasabi or slightly sweet sauce on top was optional. My companion, who used to work at Torishin in Shosamporo, had high expectations for the grilled skewers in the evening. When asked what dish I would recommend, the answer was "tsukune". It is made from a mixture of chicken thigh, breast meat, and cartilage, cooked on a lava stone instead of a plate, which sounds incredibly delicious. It was a long-held wish come true, opening a new restaurant during the pandemic. The service was heartwarming, with the owner seeing us off to the door. Thank you for the delicious meal!
