About a 10-minute walk from JR Loop Line's "Tsuruhashi" Station, you can find the famous okonomiyaki restaurant "Omoni," which has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog for many years. Located past Tsuruhashi's Koreatown, next to the yakiniku restaurant Manjo. It was Friday at 7 pm, and there was no line outside, with people comfortably waiting inside on chairs. The restaurant had 3 tables and 3 tatami mat seating areas, filled with customers of all ages, couples, and groups. While waiting, you are given a menu and order sheet to fill out yourself. The menu is extensive, ranging from basic options to original dishes. Many celebrities have visited the restaurant and left their mark with topping menus named after them, like the "Anmika Special" and the "Nishikawa Kiyoshi Special." Today, I ordered the "Omoni-yaki," which includes pork, squid, shrimp, scallops, and eggs inside and out. The owner cooks everything for you, and you eat it on the table's iron griddle. The Omoni-yaki was slightly larger than expected. The staff generously covered it with sauce and mayonnaise. The fluffy texture was delicious! Is it the sauce that's tasty? Or is it the batter? Well, both are incredibly delicious! The Omoni-yaki has plenty of eggs in the batter, which is delicious! The varying cooking levels of the inside and outside eggs add an interesting texture. The seafood is full of flavor, which is delicious! With plenty of squid, shrimp, and scallops, it has a satisfying bite. The sweetness of the cabbage with the accent of pickled ginger is delicious! The steamed cabbage core adds extra sweetness. Despite being a very famous restaurant, the service is not condescending, and the owner's warm smile is endearing. On the way back from the restaurant... I already want to go back and eat more (laughs). Who wants to go with me next time?
