This time, the 400th shop I visited in Sapporo! And at the same time, I decided to choose "KUJIRA" as the final stop of the day! It's the first time I've combined the end of the tour with a milestone like this. I made a reservation about two weeks before the visit, as the restaurant tends to fill up with reservations, and walk-ins are not accepted. It's a difficult-to-reserve restaurant, so I'm really happy to have been able to visit! I ordered the "MCP (¥1430)" and the "Coffee Mandelin Blend HOT (¥440)". If you order only dessert during dinner time, you must also order a drink, so please be aware of that when using it as a dessert. I resisted the temptation to order pasta or risotto in addition to the menu I wanted, as I had already eaten soup curry beforehand. Each dessert set included two types of pudding, cake, and an additional three types of gelato in the "Diet starts tomorrow. (¥2640)", which was a great value for the price, but I couldn't finish it all... The dishes arrived in about 10 minutes, and I couldn't help but get excited when they arrived! The MCP I ordered stands for "Mont Blanc Cricket Pudding". It is a menu where vanilla ice cream is topped on the restaurant's signature pudding and wrapped in Mont Blanc, and it is a popular dessert in autumn and winter. The volume was impressive, fulfilling three greedy desires of wanting to eat pudding, Mont Blanc, and freshly squeezed Mont Blanc. The cream tasted sweet and rich, with a fluffy and smooth texture that was mesmerizing. The cream was so fine and silky that it melted smoothly in the mouth, giving a different sensation from a cake shop's Mont Blanc. The aftertaste of sweetness that goes down the throat after melting is also delightful. The chestnuts on top were also creatively arranged, resembling jewels. The pudding hidden inside the Mont Blanc had a custard-like flavor. It seemed like an old-fashioned firm pudding when the spoon went in, but it melted smoothly in the mouth! It had a strong egg yolk flavor with a moderate sweetness, and the contrast between the light bitterness and richness of the caramel sauce was distinct. The combination with the refreshing vanilla ice cream was also excellent, adding a cooling effect when eaten together, making it very delicious! The variety of ways to eat is the essence of the dish combining different flavors. It's delicious on its own, but when combined with other dishes on the same plate, the deliciousness is enhanced... It's very cunning! The buttery crackers with a crispy texture also served as a palate cleanser for the voluminous MCP. The sprinkled sugar added sweetness, which was nice! The coffee had a moderate bitterness, with no astringency or acidity, and a clear taste. When I looked it up, Mandelin is known for its heavy bitterness and richness, and is used here for its mild flavor.
