It's getting colder these days and I suddenly feel like having "oden"! I want that oden with lots of ingredients! Tonight, I'm going to satisfy my hunger and go out for it. Climbing up the steep stairs in a hurry and passing through the curtain, oh! There are empty seats at the counter. First, I had the "ganmo" - a type with various ingredients like wood ear mushrooms, sesame, carrots, etc. The texture of the dough is smooth and fluffy, which is nice. And then, I enjoyed the "fukuro" that I was looking forward to - a pouch with ingredients like konjac, ginkgo nuts, chicken, quail eggs, etc. I savored each one slowly (*´∀`)♪ And of course, with a glass of draft beer♪ I also ordered the recommended skewers by the landlady, "soft white leek" and "chicken thigh". The soft white leek has a sweetness that goes well with beer (〃∇〃) Thank you for another delicious meal today.

I was curious about an oden restaurant near Furano Station called "Heso Kanrakugai," and decided to try it out. The restaurant has a small izakaya-like atmosphere. I ordered "ganmo" and "fukuro" from the menu. The dishes are prepared after you order, which is a unique style. Some people may prefer choosing from the ingredients already in the pot rather than having the dish prepared for them. As for the taste, I really enjoyed it. The light golden broth had a strong flavor from the kombu. The ganmo had 6 different ingredients, carefully selected and incorporated by the chef. The fukuro also had a variety of ingredients, including chicken, quail eggs, and bracken. It was delicious and visually appealing. The chef neatly opened the fukuro with scissors, making it easy to enjoy with drinks. Overall, it was a great oden experience. Thank you for the meal!

Furano's Oden Izakaya "Oden Issho" in the nightlife district of Furano, Hokkaido. Located in the nightlife district of Furano, Oden Issho is a cozy Oden Izakaya. The nightlife district here has many shops open until late at night! When you climb the stairs to the second floor and enter, the bright and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant greets you. There are only three seats at the counter, so I ended up taking a table in the back... I really wanted to sit at the counter and enjoy a drink while watching the Oden being prepared. Looking at the menu, it's almost exclusively Oden, with very few other side dishes available. And the prices for the Oden are not listed... Well, it's okay even if it's a bit pricey. I should have asked about the prices, but I was in a good mood and decided to just eat what I wanted without worrying about the prices (laughs). - Draft beer 500 yen - Hokkaido's Kin Kin Roman (Kuriyama) 300 yen - Daikon - Hanpen - Tororo Konbu - Shrimp dumplings - Yuba rolls I started with Tororo Konbu! It was surprising to see Tororo Konbu in Oden broth, almost like a soup... The unexpected presentation was delicious. The other items arrived at the same time, and the daikon and shrimp dumplings were also delicious. I ended the night in Furano with a light Oden and sake. When I went to pay, the bill was only 2300 yen! I was surprised by how cheap it was. When I asked about the prices of the Oden, I found out that each item was between 200 and 350 yen. Daikon for 200 yen, Tororo Konbu for 300 yen, and the most expensive was the shrimp dumplings for 350 yen. When I asked why they don't display the prices, I was told that they haven't changed it since they opened 24 years ago, and a customer once said that not listing the prices is also good! This little thrill and sense of security was quite interesting. The Oden was also good. Address: 12-34 Nichinodemachi, Furano, Hokkaido Phone: 0167-22-5290 Hours: 18:00 - 2:00 (Closed on Sundays) Parking: Not available [Tabelog Rating] 3.05 [Tanuki Rating (Night)] - Overall: 36 points - Atmosphere: 7 points - Food: 7 points - Menu Variety: 8 points - Value for Money: 8 points - Likelihood to Return: 6 points

(July 2015) I reserved and ate eel. The 23rd to 25th of July was Eel Day this year. It felt like only customers who had reserved eel were there during these three days. I go every year without fail. (December 2012) I reserved a blowfish course and used it with my family. The blowfish course that has become a tradition at this time every year is by reservation only. It costs 10,500 yen per person, which is not cheap at all, but the portion is amazing. I was so full that it was painful. In addition to the photos, an "oden assortment" was served, which I took home as a souvenir. I was satisfied to be able to receive such a luxurious meal. (August 2011) My family had oden at the end of summer. Oden at Issho is delicious no matter the season. My favorites are chicken wings, tofu, shrimp, yuba, and warabi, but everything is delicious. (February 2011) I would like to introduce the restaurant "Issho" where you can eat delicious oden in Furano. The location is on the second floor of a building in the entertainment district. It's a small alley of drinking establishments, so you'll find it when you go there. The current location of the restaurant has been three years, and before that, there was a restaurant across the floor. I was surprised because the atmosphere of the restaurant had changed when I visited after a long time! There are multiple table seats in the style of a raised tatami mat and a tatami room. The oden is highly recommended. It is a delicately flavored oden. There are also chicken skewers, pork skewers, mixed rice, tororo rice, etc. "Softshell turtle dishes" are also available by reservation. Depending on the season, blowfish dishes are also available by reservation. In December, I had a blowfish course for my recovery celebration. The price is a bit high, but you can eat reasonably priced blowfish dishes in Furano!

Furano City, at the Navel Red Light District, there is a unique oden specialty restaurant called "Issei". I had been wanting to go there for a while. The menu mainly consists of oden, with yakitori also available. I enjoyed oden while drinking cold sake. The oden included items like eggs, konjac, ganmo, shrimp balls, and cheese balls. The taste was truly exceptional, being a specialty shop. I had a nice conversation with the master. It seems that the restaurant is popular for second, third, or even fourth rounds of drinks. I bought some souvenirs for my colleagues waiting at the inn. "Issei" is a very cozy oden restaurant that I highly recommend.

On January 9, 2007 (Tuesday) in Furano, the theme was "Intense Work" in Hokkaido '07. The intense work for this year with Tsubochan and Miyachan ended at "Soh's Bar". After saying goodbye to Yume-san in front of "Soh's Bar", I was driven to the hotel by Tsubochan and Miyachan, and then I started my intense work alone. Hahaha! I'm back this year in the bustling nightlife district! First stop, the oden restaurant "Issho" that I visited two years ago. Actually, during a radio appearance in the morning, I mentioned that there shouldn't be "chikuwabu" in Hokkaido, but when I visited an oden restaurant in Furano two years ago, I ordered "chikuwabu" from the menu and got something completely different that looked similar. So, I had to verify if that was true, which is why I came to this restaurant. But wait, it's not there...the fake "chikuwabu" is not on the menu. Confused, I quickly moved on and ordered hot sake, hanpen, egg, and daikon. Hot sake and oden on a snowy night...simply the best.

It was still hot in the first half of July, but it has started to cool down a bit. Today is the midsummer day of the Ox, so after finishing work in Furano, I decided to have some grilled eel. The restaurant usually serves oden and grilled dishes, but for the limited time of July 22nd (Saturday), 24th (Monday), and 25th (Tuesday), they are only offering grilled eel. It is necessary to make a reservation in advance. As we enjoyed some beer and chatted, the main dish finally arrived! The fluffy and thick grilled eel, cooked carefully three times, looked shiny and delicious with its glossy sauce. The suggestion from the owner to sprinkle some Sansho pepper and eat it with wasabi was perfect. The tingling sensation of the Sansho pepper combined with the refreshing spiciness of the wasabi created a unique and delightful flavor that made me feel happy! The gentle and high-pitched voice of the female owner and the craftsmanship of the owner created a warm and soothing atmosphere, relieving my fatigue. Since they also serve delicious oden and grilled dishes, I will definitely visit again next time! Thank you for the wonderful meal!
