Today, my husband was having dinner alone, so I went to my parents' house for some errands. I looked through the fridge, but there were no nice gifts. Since we had curry the day before, I requested to have curry cutlet for dinner using the leftover curry. I didn't feel like frying the cutlet myself because it's hot, so I decided to go to "Bentos" to order. I ordered a pork cutlet for 450 yen. While waiting, I looked at the menu and felt a bit dizzy. When I got home, I tried a piece of the cutlet. It was okay. The side dishes included pickles, dried daikon radish, potato salad, and spaghetti with a simple taste underneath the cutlet. This experience made me want to explore more bento shops!

Let's go buy some bento for lunch♪ This is my first time at this bento shop, but I have used similar ones in other areas before. It's a beautiful sunny day today♪ I walked over to the shop and inside, I saw businessmen and older ladies staring at the sample dishes. There were so many different types to choose from! It took me a while to decide, but in the end, I ordered the Sapporo fried chicken and shrimp bento, and the spicy miso stir-fried pork and vegetable bento!! The containers seemed a bit small, but when I got home and opened them, there was actually a good amount of food inside. I had the spicy miso stir-fried bento, which had a lot of vegetables! There was also plenty of meat for the price of 550 yen, but the spicy miso flavor was a bit too strong for me. It made the rice disappear too quickly (a bit of a shock). I tried a piece of the fried chicken and found it to be quite bland... Why is there such a big difference in seasoning? It was too extreme for me, so I didn't really enjoy it. Well, maybe I'll go back for the daily special bento next time??

Bentos is a local bento chain with about 30 stores in Hokkaido. I visited the Bentos Minami 20-jo store for lunch on a weekday. The store is located in the Toyohira area of Sapporo, along Ishiyama Street. You can check the exact location on Tabelog. I visited around 3 pm on a weekend and parked in the front parking space. There were no customers before me, only one after me. The store specializes in take-out bento boxes and does not have pre-made ones. Unlike the Hakkou store in Nishi Ward, there are no limited edition bento boxes at the Minami 20-jo store. I ordered the limited edition Chicken Nanban & Ginger Pork Bento. It was ready in about 6 minutes. The bento was quite large with a generous portion of Chicken Nanban, creamy tartar sauce, ginger pork, rice, vegetables, fried potatoes, pickles, and more. The Chicken Nanban and tartar sauce were delicious, and the overall bento had a good value for the price. The spinach side dish was healthy and tasty. I look forward to trying another limited edition bento next time. It was a delicious meal, thank you.

This place, which used to have a high-end image, now focuses on vegetables just like other bento shops. The seasonal menu samples are right in the middle, "It's the season indeed..." Now, let's consider what to order. Stepping away from the nori bento trend, I couldn't resist the limited edition Mega Chicken Nanban Bento! With chicken nanban, a sunny-side-up egg, a hefty portion of rice, and a delicious tartar sauce that complements the savory chicken breast well. I wish they piled on more meat until it's no longer visible. Underneath, there's even curry spaghetti in the sauce, adding a spicy kick that could also be used for curry rice. The potato salad is served with a Caesar dressing, and the sunny-side-up egg on the hamburger is just delightful. However, why do people feel happy when they eat the runny yolk that melts in their mouth... Is it because of its rich creaminess? The answer is known only to oneself. Some people may not like it, but here, you don't need to worry about that. The slightly firm potato fries become soft and light, complementing the light flavor of the potato salad. The meal is delicious, and you can enjoy it until the end. I wonder where the "Mega" in the name comes from... Probably the volume. They say it's the season of good appetite, but the appetite of humans doesn't change throughout the year. Thank you for the delicious meal.
