Occasionally, I decided to have a luxurious lunch at the Teppanyaki restaurant "Ishikari" on the 26th floor of the Sapporo ANA Hotel. As the name suggests, the restaurant offers a great view of Sapporo's Ishikari Plain, making it a high-rise restaurant with a good view in Sapporo. I ordered the "Hokkaido Beef Lunch" course, with today's main Hokkaido beef being "Furano beef". The course included the following: - Appetizer... Napa cabbage salad, rolled omelette with high-quality eggs, kelp noodles - Noodle dish... Hokkaido clam ramen - Side dish... Marinated Okhotsk Atka mackerel, jelly sauce - Simmered dish... Tender simmered Hokkaido chicken - Assorted dishes... Marinated wild-caught autumn salmon with ikura, salted Hokkaido sea squirt, Polynesian-style grilled Hokkaido saury - Grilled dish... Hokkaido "Furano beef" sirloin steak (60g), grilled vegetables - Rice dish... Pork bowl with Satchiku barley pork from Shari, pickles, miso soup - Dessert... Assorted dessert platter The main meat portion is a refined 60g per person (a bit small!), but overall, the course offers a decent amount of food. The photo shows 180g for three people, and the chef explains the meat and confirms the doneness, so I ordered it medium. While waiting for the meat to cook, I enjoyed the appetizers and the view outside with some drinks. The highlight of teppanyaki performance is the finishing flambé in front of you. I took a commemorative photo of the fire about to start. The steak is served with garlic chips and diced steak alongside grilled vegetables. The meat is tender and flavorful, with a good balance of lean and marbled parts. It's very delicious. The appetizers, side dishes, and assorted dishes are visually appealing and enjoyable, and the pork bowl in the rice dish, despite being fatty, was surprisingly refreshing after being grilled simply with salt, then topped with sauce and sprinkled with sansho pepper. Although the amount of steak is small, I was satisfied with the variety of dishes. The view from the window is also a treat, and for 4,200 yen, the meal and the view are worth it. After enjoying the meal and drinks, you can move to the adjacent lounge for dessert platters and relax. It may be a bit pricey for dinner, but during the day, you can still enjoy the view from the high-rise and indulge in a satisfying teppanyaki steak meal.
