Welcome.---------- July 2015 ----------As soon as you get off at the Chijo-tetsu "Jieitai-mae" station, you'll see a charming little place with a red lantern hanging outside. What a lovely street it must be! (o゜▽゜)ノガラララ "Welcome~!!" The energetic and friendly owner and his wife (referred to as Mama-san) greeted us as we entered. The counter was adorned with various wooden boxes, creating a cozy atmosphere. There were many tables and booths with a deep layout. The owner, Saito-san, specializes in fish, as mentioned in a review by Subarusan. He personally goes to the market to ensure the freshness of the fish, as Subarusan guarantees. The variety of fish is impressive, and the quality is top-notch. Unfortunately, we arrived just an hour before closing, so we had to make do with what was left. We ordered a curry with a highball (≧∇≦)ノ凵゛. The appetizers were a bit bland, like simmered vegetables, but the mushrooms, thick fried tofu, and daikon radish in dashi broth were delicious. The owner and Subarusan highly recommended the sashimi platter with five different types of fish: yellowtail, scallop, live shrimp, seared mackerel, and bonito tataki. The presentation was as impressive as the taste, showcasing the chef's skill. The yellowtail was rich and flavorful, the scallop was tender and sweet, the bonito tataki was firm and full of umami, and the live shrimp was a bit challenging to eat but delicious nonetheless. The seared mackerel had a smoky flavor that complemented its richness. We also tried some grilled dishes, such as grilled saury marinated in mirin and grilled smelt. The saury was juicy and flavorful, while the smelt had a firm texture and a strong taste. We were surprised with a dish of salmon and cream cheese, which was creamy and rich, perfect for pairing with sake. The fried chicken wings with sweet sauce were crispy and flavorful, making them a great accompaniment to drinks. Overall, the experience was delightful, and we left with a sense of gratitude. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
