In June 2022, I visited the charcoal grill izakaya "En" located in front of the Kiyota Ward Office. This time, I sat at the counter seat, which was comfortable with a spacious depth. They offer a drink-all-you-can plan, which is very attractive. We ordered the drink-all-you-can option and enjoyed yakitori skewers. The tsukune (chicken meatball) here is very delicious. Personally, I find the tomato skewers particularly appealing. The grilling is done well, and the texture is great.

On this day, I was tired from driving and wanted to drink early because of the heat, so I made a reservation and went in. Last time, I was turned away at this popular restaurant because I didn't have a reservation. This time, I was seated at the counter, which had a deep and comfortable feel. I ordered the all-you-can-drink option for 980 yen and a few skewers. I particularly like the raw minced chicken skewers. They are finely textured, elegant, with a good balance of flavor and saltiness. It's no surprise that this is the flagship product of a big chain, as it is delicious. The other skewers were also decent, as expected from this type of chain, and they went well with the alcohol. I didn't include a picture, but we ended up ordering a parade of white wine with ice later on (laughs). It's a glass exchange system, but the staff understood the speed at which we were finishing our drinks, so towards the end, they served the white wine in a beer mug. Considering the price of the wine in the all-you-can-drink deal, I can't complain about the quality. But for 980 yen per person, it's reasonable. On this day, make sure to call a taxi using the "App GO" app for a safe ride home.

I often go there because it's close. The staff are mostly students, so the level of customer service isn't very high. Even with a reservation, they often get things wrong or claim there was no reservation, so I'm starting to give up, haha. Lately, they have robots that bring food to your table. The skewers take a long time, so it's best to order early. The seafood isn't very fresh and not very tasty. I always order the grilled squid, burdock chips, and skewers. The beef tendon stew has too much fat for my liking. The seared stingray is surprisingly small in portion, haha. The all-you-can-drink option is cheap, so it's good for those who like to drink, but don't expect much from the food! Still, I'll come back for drinks.

On May 21, 2022, I came to En with my three children. In Kiyota Ward, there are only a few chain izakayas, so it's essential to make a reservation in advance as you can't get in without one on holidays. En is known for its delicious raw tsukune with a wide variety to choose from. My sons love raw tsukune, so we always order a large amount. It's affordable, ranging from 100 to 150 yen per skewer, so ordering a lot is cost-effective. The menu is extensive, offering not only yakitori but also noodle dishes like yakisoba, making it a restaurant where you won't get tired of the options. Thank you for the meal! ☆

In February 2021, I visited a new izakaya chain that opened in front of the Kiyota Ward Office for the first time. The menu is extensive and the all-you-can-drink option is very cost-effective. This time, I requested the 2-hour all-you-can-drink option. The draft beer is Asahi Super Dry. For the second drink onwards, I switched to white wine. The tuna sashimi was fresh and delicious! The beef fillet was tender, and I particularly enjoyed the tomato bacon skewers and the well-cooked yakitori. The prices are reasonable and the service is good. Since it's close to my home, I will definitely visit again with my neighbors.

Three days of business from San'nichi, so with the neighbors around here. We opened at 4 p.m., and I went almost as soon as it opened, but gradually it got crowded and seemed to be full. There were people lining up outside. It's almost like a private room, so the atmosphere is good. All-you-can-drink starts at 750 yen for 90 minutes. I should have gone for the 180-minute option. It was too crowded and we couldn't extend our time. Orders are done through a touch panel. The raw tsukune... Did it get smaller? The seasonal product, anglerfish hot pot, starts from 2 servings, with udon and tsukune included. The broth was good. We ate yakitori, saury, and more, gulping it all down. The taxi service starts from 7 p.m. In this day and age, wouldn't it be better if it started from 6 p.m.? It's a shame there's no second venue nearby. I think it was because of installing an app or something like that...■I wanted to check out the new place in Kiyota Ward, and I was curious about the collaboration dish with CoCoCoRo, the Tsukune Keema Curry (490 yen). It uses the flame-grilled tsukune. It was thick and slightly sweet, but had a gradual spiciness afterwards. I felt like it had a fruity scent like a sauce. Maybe it was just my imagination because I was drinking.■I wanted to go early and leave early, so I arrived shortly after opening around 3:15 pm. The service was quick. By around 4:30 pm, there were several people who couldn't enter because they didn't have a reservation. Maybe all the residents of Kiyota Ward are flocking to the place... Good evening everyone. On a weekday night when you don't feel like cooking, let's go with a friend to "Charcoal Izakaya En Kiyota Store," a restaurant that opened after the previous one closed down for adult reasons. It's been a week since the opening, so things should have settled down by now. In the morning of the same day, I made a reservation for a 3000 yen (excluding tax) course through Hot Pepper, and we can order additional items as we like. The interior of the restaurant remains the same, with a counter on the right and private rooms continuing on the left. We were guided by a cheerful staff member to a sunken kotatsu private room. First, we started with beer and an all-you-can-drink soup. The course included edamame, Parmesan cheese fries, fried potatoes, Caesar salad, tsukune (chicken meatballs), pork skewers, sashimi, beef tongue steak with black truffle sauce, tsukune hitsumabushi, and almond tofu. This lineup, with a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option, is quite a good deal. For additional items, we ordered my favorite red motsu skewers, grilled squid, and teppanyaki cheese Napolitan skewers. The Caesar salad from the course was especially delicious, with crisp vegetables and plenty of dressing that paired well with beer. The beef tongue steak was a bit rare, so be prepared for that. The sashimi included thin slices of tuna, marinated mackerel, and salmon, all of which I made my friend eat. The red motsu skewers were consistently delicious. The tsukune hitsumabushi, which was the course's finale, was tasty. It consisted of rice topped with tsukune and drizzled with a special sauce, to be enjoyed with the chicken soup poured over it. They also have rice for hitsumabushi on their regular menu, so I recommend trying it even as an additional item. The teppanyaki cheese Napolitan was a bit disappointing because the teppan was not hot enough, making the noodles sticky. It's important to request for it to be heated properly when ordering teppan dishes. Overall, there is a stark contrast between the delicious items and the not-so-great ones. This may be due to the chefs still getting used to the new place, so let's look forward to improvements in the future. In any case, it's a rare and delightful find to have a place in Kiyota Ward where you can enjoy all-you-can-drink from 3 pm. With the course and additional items, the total bill for two people was around 8200 yen, which is quite reasonable. Thank you for the meal!

I was so happy to see that "En" opened in the space where Tsuboya closed last November! I love "En" so much, and having it in my local area of Kiyota is just fantastic! Congratulations on the opening! On the first day of opening, I visited the restaurant. The individual booths are nicely separated, fitting well with the "New Hokkaido Style" for COVID-19 prevention. Ordering through the touch panel saves time and reduces the need for staff, making it efficient and practical for COVID-19 measures. Every time a customer enters or exits, outside air flows in... Even though the outside temperature was high, it was cold and sobering. It was Friday night, but the food was coming out slowly. We had a two-hour time limit due to our reservation, but the last dish arrived 30 minutes before the time limit. The tsukune was delicious, but the sashimi platter, octopus tempura, oil-drizzled chicken, and takoyaki were disappointing. The sashimi was thin and tasteless. The fried food seemed freshly fried, but something was off. The takoyaki seemed to be fried in oil and had little sauce. The stone-cooked braised pork fried rice had good flavor but was too greasy. Strange noises could be heard from the kitchen... Overall, I gave it 3 stars out of 5. It was my first time at this izakaya in a while, but unfortunately, it was disappointing.

As a result, as shown in the picture, each item was served as a single portion, and the table was filled up quickly. I managed to finish everything, but I imagine some people might be overwhelmed by this amount (;^ω^) It might be better to specify unwanted items from the beginning. Or rather, they've already made a profit with the first set, haven't they? lol Personally, my favorites were the ★raw tsukune ★raw tsukune soup ★chicken nanban. I love to make a makeshift parent-child bowl with TKG and raw tsukune, and it's become a regular order for me (^-^) They start preparing your order as soon as you place it, the staff's response is good, and I was completely satisfied with the taste and service! You must go there for sure!!
