I was attracted by the visuals and decided to visit. The sauce was delicious, but the contents were average. It seems like the visual appeal is better here compared to the nearby shaved ice shop we also visited. The dessert was served in a thin container with a large portion on top, making the balance awkward. Many people ended up tipping it over while eating, with some even dropping most of it on the ground. It might be better to consider the container design. I made sure to eat it carefully without tipping it over.

When I participated in an event at Wing Bay last year, I tried their potato, but I finally visited their store recently. They are introducing a new "drinkable shaved ice" that is still in the trial phase, so that's what I came for. The drinkable shaved ice comes in two flavors, strawberry milk and tiramisu. I chose the tiramisu flavor (600 yen). When I tried to sip it with a straw, I couldn't get anything out... I realized that it needs to melt a bit first, since it's made of ice. I drove for a while and then tried it as a drink. It was sweet and delicious, like drinking a cafe mocha. Unlike regular shaved ice, you don't have to rush to eat it before it melts, which is great. Although it was a bit difficult to sip with a straw, I was satisfied with the taste. Next time, I'll go try their regular shaved ice. Thank you for the meal!

On May 13, 2023, I visited a shaved ice shop in Ranjima, Otaru City. The shop opened for the season on April 29th and seems to be mainly open on weekends. It's located near the bus stop, but most customers arrived by car. The menu offers various shaved ice flavors, including seasonal specials. I tried the strawberry milk shaved ice, which was delicious with lots of fruit chunks. My friend had the hojicha (roasted green tea) flavor, which looked tempting. The shop also serves freshly fried potato fries, a perfect combination of sweet and salty. The shaved ice was fluffy and not too icy. Just be careful as it melts quickly! Overall, a great experience and I look forward to trying their matcha flavor next time.

On this day off, I left Yoichi and arrived at a popular shaved ice shop in Rando Island called Penpei. I ordered the strawberry milk flavor (it was the last day of the season, so it was 100 yen off!). I got two servings and the fluffy shaved ice was delicious! I will definitely go again when summer comes!

I visited a new shaved ice spot called "甘味処 とぺんぺ" in the Ranjima area. I had been wanting to go there, and luckily I had work in Otaru, so I was able to go on the last day. They had a special discount of ¥100 off on all items for the last two days. The shaved ice was fluffy and the strawberry syrup with jam had a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. Even though the portion looked big, it was so delicious that I could finish it all!

On the way back from my trip to Niseko, we arrived at a popular shaved ice shop in Ranshima called Penpen. It was crowded with many people that day (it was our third visit). We were allowed to choose two items from the menu, so we ordered strawberry milk and roasted green tea milk as a share since kiwi was sold out. The roasted green tea milk was a fluffy green tea shaved ice with red bean paste and white dumplings, offering a sophisticated taste. The strawberry milk had a fluffy milk shaved ice with strawberry syrup on the outside and inside, which was delicious. We left the shop feeling very satisfied with the delicious shaved ice!

I finally visited a shaved ice shop that I've been curious about since last year. The menu can be a bit hard to understand just by looking at the words, but they have a menu with photos inside the shop, which makes it easier to choose. After much deliberation, I chose the "Kiwi" shaved ice for 500 yen, while my companion chose the "Tiramisu" for 600 yen. The friendly and handsome staff served us. The shaved ice was made in the back and then brought out on a tray when ready. Both were fluffy shaved ice with plenty of homemade syrup. The "Kiwi" had panna cotta inside, creating a harmonious blend of moderate sweetness, acidity, and creamy panna cotta in the mouth. It was really delicious. The "Tiramisu" was a fluffy mascarpone mousse with a rich coffee syrup and cocoa, recreating a rich and delicious tiramisu. I wanted to try the strawberry milk, hojicha milk, and caramel pumpkin flavors too. I hope to visit many times next year. Thank you, "Topenpe"!

On this day off, my wife and I arrived at a dessert shop called "Toppenpe" that she had always wanted to visit. The location is easy to find at the entrance of the Ranjima Beach, especially on a sunny day when there are many cars parked on the rural highway. We shared a peach and condensed milk shaved ice outside. The fluffy shaved ice was filled with lots of peaches and paired well with the condensed milk! It was my first time visiting, but the constant stream of customers coming in made it clear that this shop is popular!

After returning from a beach camp, I couldn't resist the heat outside and stopped by for a treat. I decided to go with a hojicha milk flavor since I didn't feel like thinking about toppings. I didn't know it came with shiratama by default. It may not look as fancy as other menu items, but it was light and tasty. It's not the fluffy type that's popular nowadays, but compared to the almost melted traditional shaved ice you get at beach cafes, it's like night and day.

I made a sudden stop while driving and tried the hojicha milk flavor. The ice was very fluffy and surprising! It had a faint hojicha aroma and was on the dry side. Eating the red bean paste in the middle added a nice sweetness. Definitely not something you can eat in the car, I would definitely spill it (laughs).

I stopped by this shop on my way to the Rando Beach while visiting Rando Island. It's located on the way from Rando Station to the beach, so I always feel like eating here (lol). This was my long-awaited first visit. Although I was tempted by the strawberry milk, I decided to try the new menu item, grape rare cheese shaved ice (600 yen). The rare cheese was generously layered on top and inside the shaved ice, giving it a smooth cream-like texture with a subtle cheese flavor that paired well with the grape shaved ice. It was so delicious that I could eat the rare cheese alone endlessly! The grape syrup tasted like concentrated grape juice, and when I put the shaved ice in my mouth, it felt like I was drinking grape juice. It's perfect for hot weather. They also had about 6 types of fruit jams for sale. The shop was stylish and made me feel wonderful (^_^) I will definitely eat here again when I visit Rando Island next time.

Very delicious shaved ice. It has a crispy cookie or cereal topping with mascarpone, which keeps it interesting. The price is also reasonable at 600 yen, with the most expensive shaved ice being 800 yen. In its second year, they offer a variety of flavors and also serve fruit sandwiches and gelato. It's still hot even in September... I feel like it's getting hotter every year. I worry that Hokkaido might become snowless like this. But that's not going to happen. Even in this heat, as I was heading from Yoichi towards Otaru, I spotted a shaved ice stand with fluttering flags! I just want to feel refreshed in my mouth even if it's just for a moment!! I was a bit anxious about whether it was okay to park here, but it seemed fine. You can park on the side of the shop. The beach is also nearby, so it must get crowded in the summer... I thought as I entered ε=(ﾉ･∀︎･)ﾉ Matcha milk shaved ice ♡ 550 yen. Fluffy♪ There are three pieces of shiratama and red beans inside the ice too~! The matcha sauce is not overly sweet, with a hint of bitterness and delicious~♡ It doesn't leave a dry feeling in the throat after eating. Refreshing! That's the good thing about shaved ice, right~♪ There's also a milky taste, but the flavor of matcha is good! Combined with the shiratama, it's the best! I'm glad I'm Japanese. The shiratama is chewy and just right, not too firm. It's a bit pricey because there are various flavors, but I want to eat it while Hokkaido is still hot and laugh!

Summer always makes me crave shaved ice~♪ I saw this place being featured on TV as a new shop, so I decided to visit (*'ω'*)* I chose the Strawberry Milk flavor (580 yen). Although I was tempted by the Yubari Melon, Kiwi, and Haskap flavors, I ended up going with the classic Strawberry Milk. The ice was fluffy and light♪ It seems like there's strawberry syrup or jam on top? This jam really brings out the flavor of the ingredients and tastes delicious♬ The fresh strawberry on top was also tasty♡ I definitely want to stop by again next time I'm in the area. They had a variety of jams available, so I'd like to purchase some next time.

On June 6th, I found a sign for shaved ice near JR Ranjima Station on Route 5 heading towards Yoichi. Despite the rainy and chilly weather, I couldn't resist my favorite shaved ice! Let's eat! The store is a newly opened take-out only shaved ice shop with homemade syrup. It's a renovated house with a slightly old exterior, but the cozy interior is stylish and tasteful. Currently, they are only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The staff mentioned that it's only a 60-second drive from the sea. They might extend their operating days once summer arrives. I ordered the classic "Strawberry Milk" shaved ice. The ice was fluffy, a mix of regular ice and milk ice, and the sauce used local strawberries from Yoichi, giving it a natural sweetness that was delicious. They were still preparing on that day, but they plan to start serving fried potatoes and homemade jam in the future. They also had flowers for sale. It seems like it will get crowded in the summer!
