I often pass by this shop and see the shutter down, so I was finally able to visit. Unfortunately, the food was not piping hot as it had been sitting for a while and not well insulated. I was looking forward to it, so I was more disappointed.

This is a shop along the national highway that offers a wide variety of foods such as takoyaki, taiyaki, okonomiyaki, frankfurters, crepes, parfaits, and soft serve ice cream. The taiyaki is 110 yen each, takoyaki is 400 yen for 8 pieces, and the only option for okonomiyaki is the shrimp and pork mix for 500 yen, while the rest of the items are priced at 400 yen. I wanted to try the okonomiyaki, but was told it would take about 20 minutes to cook, so I ordered the pre-made shrimp and pork mix. Although it was kept in a warming container, it was not warm enough, more like cold... I don't think I will be going back again. The portion size is generous and the cost performance is good, but...

During Golden Week, I decided to head towards Obihiro and the southern part of Hokkaido, as I haven't been there much before. In the end, I ended up passing through Tenma Pass and arrived in Urakawa Town. Along the main road in town, I found a takoyaki shop. I was feeling a bit hungry, so I decided to give it a try. I parked on the sidewalk since there didn't seem to be a proper parking lot. Sorry about that... Inside, it felt a bit cold and empty. Eventually, an older lady came out and I ordered a takoyaki. I received a lukewarm takoyaki from the counter and ate it in my car. It was average... It would have been better if they kept it warm in a case at least.

I always want to eat freshly made takoyaki, so when I go, I ask them to cook it for me. However, I also found the cold takoyaki here to be delicious. Maybe it's because it's in Urakawa, but the octopus inside is tasty! It's not tough. (There are other menu items besides takoyaki, but I only buy takoyaki so I forgot.) I'm just not sure about the business days and hours (you can ask the staff at the store though...) I can only go on Sundays by chance, so even if I go at noon, sometimes they are open, sometimes they are not.
