My favorite! It's Holyu Shimizu store! Starting this year, the opening time has changed to 11 o'clock! As a morning person, I used to go to Goei store or Yamaokaya store, but Shimizu store is still the best! I love it...

While driving around the roadside station, I noticed that it opens at 10:00, so I decided to come back later to eat there. It had been a year since my last visit, so I was very excited. Being able to eat there at 10:00 made me very happy. This time, I ordered a bowl with five slices of chashu (laughs).

Visit on June 21, 2023! The rich and delicious Chashu Ramen with 3 slices of miso for 1,150 yen. Topping with a boiled egg costs 100 yen, and a small bowl of rice costs 120 yen. The Chashu is overflowing from the bowl, making a strong impact, but it's not too thick. It's a tender and flavorful Chashu that you don't need to chew much. The restaurant seems to be run by a family of three: a tough-looking owner, a kind-hearted hostess, and a cute daughter. It's easy to stop by on the way back from Obihiro, so I would like to visit again.

Horyu Shimizu Store 2023.05.31
Today I decided to visit "Horyu Shimizu Store" in Shimizu-cho. The location is along Route 274, near the intersection with Route 38. The exterior has a black wall and a noticeable yellow roof with a sign on the two-story building. Inside, there is an L-shaped counter seat and five small tables on a raised platform.
I ordered the soy sauce ramen with extra char siu, a small rice, and a bottled cola. The ramen came with five slices of pork belly char siu, chopped green onions, bean sprouts, onions, and seaweed. The char siu was tender and flavorful, made with fatty pork belly. The noodles were medium-thick and curly, unique to Horyu. The soup was a double soup made with pork bones and local chicken from Niitoku, slightly salty but rich and tasty.
After the meal, I enjoyed some gelato to cool down. I will definitely come back for the char siu. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The popular restaurant gets crowded right after noon. Since the renovation, the inside of the shop feels brighter and more welcoming. The staff is energetic and the place is clean. The star of the menu seems to be the melt-in-your-mouth pork belly chashu. I tried the salt ramen this time, with curly yellow noodles and a rich soup. The chashu had a mild pork flavor, but it didn't quite hit the spot for me. I prefer drier chashu over fatty ones. The "gomoku" ramen with lots of seaweed and vegetables was not available, which I didn't notice. The young people I was with happily finished their bowls, exclaiming how delicious it was. Their youth is truly dazzling!

Today I had miso ramen at Shimizu. I shared it with my child, so we got a large serving. The soup was light with a rich flavor. I wish the noodles were a bit firmer and more yellowed. The restaurant is popular for a reason, the flow of people in and out is perfect. Thank you for the meal!

This is a popular restaurant. It gets quite crowded even on weekdays at lunchtime. They use a ticket vending machine system. The service is brisk and lively. Since it's my first visit, I'll try the number one popular dish. I ordered the "Rich and Delicious Char Siu Ramen Miso with 3 pieces of pork" for 1150 yen, and added a boiled egg from Chuson-ji village for 100 yen.
The first sip of the soup was sour!! Then it continued to be sour for a while, and afterwards, it tasted salty... There is no depth or richness in the soup, so I could only taste the surface flavor. I wonder if they use the secret "Kura Miso" from Ho Ryu? I couldn't find any sign, so maybe they don't use it. If that's the case, it makes sense, but if they use that Kura Miso and the taste is like this, they should consider changing the Ho Ryu sign. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles, cooked firm and chewy, which I enjoyed. However, the char siu was a bit too salty... ( ̄▽ ̄;)~ Overall, I was surprised. Is this really the popular taste here?? That's my impression. Everyone gave it a rating of 3.5 or higher, which is amazing. In my opinion, this falls into the category of not very delicious ramen. And it's painful to pay over 1000 yen for it.

This popular restaurant is known for its char siu ramen. The building has been renovated and both the exterior and interior look beautiful. The interior is particularly lovely with a wooden finish. As you look around the restaurant, you'll notice the autographed color papers of famous people, even the color papers are in a wooden finish! The entrance has a ticket machine, which is common in ramen shops nowadays. While waiting for your ramen, you'll notice the staff promptly refilling glasses when a seat becomes available. The entrance and exit are separate to ensure smooth traffic flow for customers, which is impressive. The miso char siu ramen with 3 slices of char siu costs 1100 yen. The soup has a strong miso flavor, and the noodles are the typical medium curly type. The char siu slices are thin with a strong fatty taste, slightly salty. The char siu may not be the main highlight of the dish, but the aromatic soup is excellent. The stir-fried bean sprouts, onions, along with leeks and seaweed complement the miso ramen well, providing a satisfying experience.

I visited this restaurant during a business trip from Sapporo. Personally, I was a bit disappointed as it was not as popular as I had imagined. It may be rude to say that it is just an old-fashioned miso ramen place, but I felt that it was lacking as a ramen specialty shop (please understand that this is just my personal opinion). Therefore, I felt that it was a bit overpriced. But I understand that the cost of ingredients has been going up.

On the way back to Kushiro in December 2022, I stopped by the previously unvisited Shozu no Horyu. It was just before 12 o'clock, and the crowded parking lot indicated that the place was busy. I usually don't like crowded ramen shops, but I wanted to try this one at least once. I bought a salted chashu ticket from the vending machine and was seated at the counter. The place was almost full, with people finishing their meals and new customers taking their place in turn. Most people around me were ordering miso ramen, which is expected at Shozu no Horyu. The soup was a milky white color and tasted delicious, but it was quite salty. The chashu was also salty, and it melted into the soup, adding to the saltiness. The bean sprouts seemed to be simmered in the soup rather than stir-fried, so they lacked the usual crunchiness, but it was still good. Despite being salty, it paired well with the noodles. Overall, it was a tasty ramen. Shozu no Horyu really varies from branch to branch, feeling like completely different ramen shops. I realized that I still don't like crowded ramen shops, and I'd like to try it again during a less busy time. Thank you for the meal.

I had lunch in Shimizu town! I was craving ramen, so I decided to visit Horyu Shimizu store, which I haven't been to in a while. This Horyu store is a popular place, but personally, the taste is not my favorite, haha. Nevertheless, I decided to give it another try. I arrived around 1:30 PM. First, I purchased the Spicy Miso Ramen for 900 yen from the ticket machine. The interior of the restaurant has changed, it looks cleaner now. Even at this time, about 80% of the seats were filled. Truly a popular spot. There are counter seats and raised tatami seating. The ramen was served in about 5 minutes. The surface was slightly red. Let's dig in. First, the soup. Hmm, the taste remains the same. Personally, I prefer a bit more sweetness, like the sweetness from vegetables. It's a sharp miso flavor, for those who like that kind of taste. As for the spiciness, it lives up to its name - spicy. If you like spicy food, you might even enjoy the extra spicy option. The toppings include bean sprouts, seaweed, green onions, and chashu. The noodles are medium thickness typical of Sapporo ramen, chewy. The chashu has a nice texture. My memory of the taste was accurate. The staff is energetic and efficient, which is nice to see! There were truck drivers and families among the customers, showing that this place is popular among a wide range of people. Thank you for the meal!

I went to the Takararyu Shimizu branch! I've been coming here a lot recently, I wonder why? Maybe because there are few open restaurants at this time, so I end up going to Shimizu-cho. I visited around 2:30 PM and when I entered, it was about 70% full. Five minutes later, it was almost completely full. It's still a popular spot. I bought a ticket from the machine for the salt ramen for 800 yen. This was my first time trying Takararyu's salt ramen. It looked salty. Let's try it. Oh, what is this? "Delicious!" is all I can say. The salt flavor is amazing. It has a natural taste and the saltiness is incredible. I was honestly surprised. Even for someone like me who usually only eats miso ramen, I highly recommend trying this. Just like the soy sauce ramen, this was really good. In the end, all three flavors were delicious. It's rare to find a place where everything is good. I finally understand the charm of Takararyu. The salt ramen was really tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Tokachi Shimizu's Ho Ryu. I decided to visit this place based on recommendations from my father and brother. My brother's family arrived a bit late. The place was packed with customers one after another, but the staff handled it smoothly. Although there was a bit of a wait, it was stress-free. However, you need to decide on your order in advance because they use a ticket machine. We all ordered miso ramen. It took about 10 minutes because it was busy. I initially thought I didn't need the seaweed, but I was surprised by how delicious it was. The soup had an amazing richness and flavor, with the miso adding a wonderful taste and aroma. The garlic wasn't overpowering, just the right amount. The tender chashu was also flavorful. This ramen was absolutely delicious. I couldn't stop drinking the soup even after finishing the noodles. It's dangerous to finish it all, so I managed to resist. I can see why this place is so popular. Ho Ryu has multiple branches in Hokkaido, but the taste can vary depending on the location. Although the basics may be the same, the richness and depth of flavor can differ. I definitely want to eat here again.

Ordered the Spicy Ramen Special (extra large) for 1,100 yen at the ticket machine near the entrance. The interior of the restaurant is clean and the staff are attentive. The ramen was decent, not particularly outstanding. The spiciness was a bit stronger than "spicy." The tender chashu was delicious but thin and small, which was a bit disappointing.

I visited for lunch. I was on a business trip to Niikappu area. My boss recommended this place saying it's delicious, so I came here. The parking lot was almost full, but luckily I found a spot. This time, I ordered the "Delicious Char Siu Ramen with 3 slices". The char siu was delicious♫ Of course, the soup and noodles were also delicious. Next time, I want to try it with extra char siu. Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

It's been a long time since my last visit. The building's color has changed? It feels strange, if my memory is correct, it's quite different (laughs). I visited around 12:30 on Saturday and there were a few empty seats. This might be lucky! I quickly ordered my usual miso chashu at the ticket machine inside. Hmm, wait a minute, the most popular miso chashu with 3 slices is 1000 yen. Next to it, miso chashu with 5 slices is 1200 yen. Without hesitation, I ordered the miso chashu with 5 slices. But, this is actually a price increase. I miss the old days when you could get 5 thick and tender chashu slices for 1000 yen. This shop is known for its quick turnover. So even if it's a bit crowded, the service is fast. The muscular male staff member who used to work here is gone, and now the owner cooks alone, but it's still pretty fast. The miso chashu with 5 slices that I received reminded me of the past, but with thinner chashu slices (laughs). Prices are rising due to increasing costs and labor expenses, so it's understandable. The taste is great! The soup is just the right thickness and delicious until the end. However, the price increase isn't very wallet-friendly. But, I appreciated the hard work of the female staff member, so I let it slide.

I went to Ho-ryu Shimizu store! I suddenly felt like eating there. Today, I felt like having the five-mix soy sauce ramen, but it wasn't available. I ended up getting the soy sauce ramen for 800 yen. It was past 2 pm, so the restaurant was not crowded, but customers kept coming in. The ramen was ready in about 3 minutes. It was delicious, with the familiar Ho-ryu taste that I've always loved. The soup had a punch to it and was very tasty. It's a shame that the five-mix ramen is no longer available, but I realized that I haven't tried the salt flavor yet. I'll have to try that next time. Thank you for the meal!

This was my first business trip of the year, heading to Eastern Hokkaido once again. I was looking forward to enjoying a bowl of ramen here since the day before, but when I woke up in the morning, there was a blizzard! The JR trains were stopped, and even the highways were closed. However, I thought I could make it in my car. It took me three hours to get to Eniwa, and by the time I arrived, it was already sunny. But I wouldn't make it to my destination in time for lunch, so I decided to stop by at Horyu Ramen. I ordered the rich pork ramen with chashu (1,000 yen) and sat at the counter. After just 3 minutes of watching the muscular shop owner prepare my bowl, it was ready. I started by sipping the soup... The refreshing taste of the rich pork broth was my favorite so far. The strong umami flavor was just right. The noodles were a bit clumped together, but the slightly thin and curly noodles were easy to slurp. The bowl was overflowing with four slices of chashu, green onions, bean sprouts, onions, and seaweed. The "toro" chashu was chewy for three slices, but the last one was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I thought about getting extra rice, but with the generous amount of bean sprouts and onions, my stomach was full to the brim. It wasn't what I expected from this place, but I'm satisfied with the owner's impressive presence. Thank you for the meal.

This is Horyu in Tokachi. Horyu is a major ramen chain with its main branch in Susukino. There are several branches in Tokachi as well, and I decided to try this Horyu based on local information that it is delicious. It was lunchtime, so the parking lot was crowded and the restaurant was full. Everyone wants to eat at this Horyu! After a short wait, I sat in a tatami room. This time, I ordered the spicy ramen with a boiled egg. It was my first visit, so I could have gone with the regular miso ramen, but it was a bit cold in November, so I felt like having something spicy. The ramen that came out had red oil floating on top, looking very spicy. When I slurped the soup, it was a rich miso flavor with a stimulating spiciness. It was spicy, but the broth was also solid. Quite a tasty and spicy soup. The noodles were Sapporo-style miso noodles, firm and curly. As the spiciness kicked in, I slurped carefully. The toppings included one slice of chashu, onions, bean sprouts, wakame seaweed, and green onions. The chashu was tender and delicious. It would probably go well with rice too. Despite the spicy soup, it was also flavorful, so I ended up drinking quite a bit. The cold was gone, and I was sweating. When I later checked on Tabelog, it was tied for first place with a rating of 3.46 points among Horyu branches. If I have the chance, I would like to try the regular miso ramen next time.

I am heading from Sapporo to Kushiro using the Doto Expressway and the Do-O Expressway. There are no restaurants at the PA or SA on the Doto Expressway. Should we get off at the Akanko IC at the end of the down line and have lunch there? But that would make it quite late for lunch, right? Let's get off at an IC along the way and have lunch! So, I visited a ramen shop called "Horyu Shimizu-ten" near the Tokachi Shimizu IC after a long time. This shop is one of the many "Horyu" shops in and out of Hokkaido, but it is exceptional, as it is even listed in the Michelin Guide for being so delicious! Ramen: 750 yen. The noodles and soup taste like "Sapporo miso ramen"! Medium-thick curly noodles with a soup that has a lot of lard. Isn't this a pure sumi style? If I said that, would I anger the fans of "Horyu Shimizu-ten"? It's that delicious, not to lose to the famous ramen shops! I also enjoyed the small rice for 100 yen. I'm glad I stopped by "Horyu Shimizu-ten" (^o^)/ Now, let's head to Kushiro again! ε=ε=ε=┌┘car└┐===========

Today, I visited "Horyu Shimizu Store" for the first time in about 5-6 years. The restaurant is located in Shimizu-cho, along National Route 274 near the intersection with National Route 38. The exterior is a two-story building with black walls and a distinctive yellow roof and sign. Inside, there is an L-shaped counter and 5 tables for 4 people each on a raised platform.
I ordered the "Rich and Delicious Char Siu Ramen Miso" for 1,000 yen, along with an additional topping of 3 slices of char siu for 300 yen and a small bowl of rice for 100 yen, bringing the total to 1,400 yen. The dish included pork belly char siu, chopped green onions, bean sprouts, onions, and seaweed, all served with medium-thick curly noodles. The char siu was tender and flavorful, with a good amount of fat, and the soup, made with double soup of pork bone and Shin-toku Jidori chicken, was slightly salty but rich and delicious.
Next time, I plan to try the "Five-Ingredient Soy Sauce Ramen." Overall, it was a satisfying meal at Horyu Shimizu Store.
