Let's go eat Chinese food at "Rou Wang"! As we walked a little in the bustling area, we could see "Rou Wang" ahead. I noticed the parking guide sign, but it was confusing as it said "To Eniasu-sama~", which may not be clear for non-Eniwa residents. It would be helpful to have a map, but it was not provided, so you have to figure out the location yourself, which is a bit of a hassle. I used their parking lot when visiting shops in the bustling area, so it was fine for me, but for customers coming from far away, it might be difficult to find. Upon entering the restaurant and walking down the hallway, we saw the staff sitting at the counter. For the service and atmosphere, please refer to other reviews. It would have been nice to hear a welcoming phrase like "Just one person, please, feel free to choose your seat!" The way the menu was presented also felt a bit off. I ordered the "Spicy Mapo Tofu Donburi (¥800)". The owner of this restaurant was the same as the one from the now-closed "Fujiya Shokudo", and I had a good impression of their "Eniwa Black Ramen", so this time I wanted to try their rice bowl dish. The dish arrived with the soup in about 10 minutes. The Mapo Tofu looked spicy with chopped green onions in the soup! The spiciness was similar to commercially available spicy Mapo Tofu. The spiciness from what seems like chili peppers added a nice kick to the dish. The soft tofu and the spicy flavor spreading in the mouth when chewing were a great combination! The thick texture was good, not too firm or too soft, and the minced meat was well mixed without being too watery, making it easy to eat each ingredient without leaving anything behind. The soup also had a spicy flavor, which paired well with the Mapo Tofu Donburi, giving a slight tingle in the mouth, but not overwhelmingly spicy. The owner's skill in adjusting the flavor just right, with a balance of spiciness, was impressive. The pickled vegetables on the side added a sourness that balanced out the spiciness, refreshing the mouth. The meal was delicious, just like the one I had at the now-closed shop, but the atmosphere of the restaurant also adds to the experience. When I had the ramen before, I didn't pay much attention, but if this continues, it can't be simply dismissed as a cool personality. I felt uneasy throughout as there were no other customers. If I were to visit again, I would try something different like the "Non-Spicy Mapo Donburi", which you don't hear about often. I'm also curious about their other ramen dishes, but I wonder what color a non-spicy Mapo Tofu would be. They also have free Wi-Fi, so it's a good way to pass the time while waiting for your food. Thank you for the meal.
