Today, I had some shopping to do at Aeon Town in Hirao, so I decided to have lunch at Sanpachi, which I haven't been to in a while. I've always been a fan of their food, so I like to come back regularly. It was lunchtime, but the restaurant was only about half full, so we were able to sit in a raised seating area. As soon as I picked up the menu, I noticed the limited-time menu item called "Summer Noodles." I had tried a limited-time menu item before and it was delicious, so this time I quickly decided on the "Summer Noodles (850 yen)" and also ordered the "Nori Mayo (300 yen)" because I wanted a little more. My girlfriend, who tends to prefer hearty flavors since her discharge from the hospital, ordered the "Charred Shoyu Ramen (900 yen)" and the "Small Rice (100 yen)." The interior of the restaurant is simple but spacious, providing a sense of openness. There is no counter seating, but there are individual seats, table seating, and raised seating depending on the customer's situation, which is very convenient. About 7-8 minutes after ordering, the steaming hot ramen arrived. It looked delicious, so let's dig in! The Summer Noodles had a thicker consistency compared to the one I had tried before, making it a bit challenging to eat as the thick sauce clung to the noodles, but the sweet flavor wasn't overpowering, making it easy to enjoy. There were plenty of bean sprouts, onions, carrots, bamboo shoots, and minced meat as toppings, providing a satisfying meal. The familiar Naruto fish cake with the Sanpachi logo on it is always cute. The Nori Mayo contained a unique tuna mayo with mustard, which surprisingly tasted delicious! The combination of mustard's aroma and spiciness complemented the tuna mayo perfectly, creating a flavor that could become addictive. I also tried a bit of my girlfriend's Charred Shoyu Ramen, which had a rich aroma due to the charred soy sauce and a strong garlic flavor, giving it a stamina-boosting quality. With plenty of diced chashu and vegetables like bean sprouts, it was also a hearty bowl of ramen. Sanpachi is a ramen chain originating from Hokkaido, and the owner, who became a character of the restaurant, started the business when he was 38 years old, hence naming it "Ramen Sanpachi." It must have been a struggle to establish such a famous ramen restaurant that even expanded overseas. Thanks to the owner's efforts, we can still enjoy Sanpachi's ramen, which is truly appreciated. We cooled down with complimentary ice cream on our way out, which was quite a nice touch. I have a habit of craving Sanpachi's ramen regularly, so I'll definitely be back when the craving hits again! Thank you for the meal!
