The restaurant I wanted to go to was closed, so I ended up here. There are both counter seats and large tables spaced out in an open layout. There are dividers between tables, and the decor includes crane paintings and jars with a traditional Japanese feel, like a cafe in an old folk house. I ordered the grated radish soba with a spicy kick. The soba was beautifully presented and came with soba tea. There were no green onions or wasabi, but plenty of spicy radish! The spiciness was strong but quickly faded, with a mature flavor. The lavender color was nice. I also enjoyed the soba broth and tea. It was a light meal for me, but I usually go for a large serving. Afterward, I had a snack. They offer a variety of tempura soba options, but I didn't see dishes like oyakodon or katsudon. I wonder if they serve dinner here too? Overall, it was a great lunch spot. Thank you for the meal!

This is a soba restaurant located in Kutchan-cho, Hokkaido. The sesame soba, made by mixing black sesame seeds into Hokkaido buckwheat flour, is delicious. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is Western-style, reminiscent of a traditional Japanese inn in Honshu. A recommended dish for summer is the "Hiyashi Tanuki" topped with shrimp tempura, fish cake tempura, and green onion tempura, with an additional order of conger eel tempura. The smooth soba noodles, flavorful broth made from carefully selected ingredients, and the handmade dishes by the owner all add to the great dining experience. The only downside is that there is no parking lot, but we were allowed to park in front of the shop.

I've been curious about this restaurant for a while, and I finally had the opportunity to visit it. The interior of the restaurant has a Showa retro vibe. The background music in the restaurant was nice, giving me the feeling of being in a cafe. I had warm soba noodles with two large shrimp tempura. The shrimp tempura was huge, with a generous amount of meat. The soba noodles were sesame soba, but I didn't really taste the sesame flavor. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife, and they provided a calm and welcoming service that made me feel at ease. When I finished paying, the husband came out from the back to see us off along with his wife. They seemed like a happy couple, and I hope they continue to run the restaurant energetically. Thank you for the meal!

The soba broth had a nice flavor, but the soba noodles themselves were lacking in texture and chewiness. It's questionable when a soba restaurant serves subpar soba noodles. Perhaps it survives in this laid-back rural area due to its charm as a hobby-turned-business for a retiree. I won't be visiting again.

It's a delicious restaurant. They also have monkfish liver tempura now.

In September 2011, I visited a soba restaurant located in the entertainment district of Kutchan Town. This place specializes in sesame soba, so those looking for authentic soba should probably look elsewhere. Being in the entertainment district, they also offer set menus with sake and soba, and in the evening, they have a decent selection of appetizers. The soba menu is not very extensive, but they have the basics covered. I tried the "cold zaru soba" with an extra 100 yen for the "mori soba," and I was quite satisfied. The portion was generous with plenty of tempura crumbs, chopped seaweed, a bit of greens, and fish cake. However, the presentation could be improved. The tempura crumbs and seaweed covered the surface, making it hard to see the greens and fish cake until mixed with chopsticks. The soba noodles were thin and had a good texture, which I personally enjoyed. Unfortunately, they did not serve soba broth, which was disappointing. Overall, the atmosphere was nice with a traditional Japanese feel once you stepped inside. The lighting could be a bit brighter, but the classical background music was fitting. In terms of service, I gave a low rating of 2.5 for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they opened five minutes after the scheduled opening time, which is not ideal for customers who arrive on time. Secondly, the menu on their official website did not match the actual menu in terms of items and prices. It would be better to update the website or close it down rather than providing incorrect information.

It is a soba restaurant located in a corner of a shopping street near Kyouan Station. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly small. I went there to try their recommended sesame soba with grated spicy daikon. The cold soba was served with freshly grated spicy daikon, but the amount was quite small, almost like a ping pong ball size. The portion of sesame soba was also small, and it looked a bit simple. The soba sauce had a good dashi flavor, but unfortunately, the sesame flavor was not noticeable, and the taste was lacking. The amount of grated daikon quickly ran out, leaving the soba in a plain state towards the end. Lastly, they also sold traditional Japanese sweets, so I bought some. However, I regretted buying soba mochi since I already had soba at the restaurant.
