The store's display space is narrow, making it difficult to walk around and browse comfortably, so I always end up feeling frustrated. As the neighboring vegetable shop, Aina-ya, has been closed since around December, I decided to stop by thinking it might be less crowded now. It seems like the display space has expanded slightly compared to before, with only one customer in front of me, making it a more relaxed browsing experience. They were selling the popular product "Poko Pan" for 88 yen (including take-out tax), which is a bread that looks like a French baguette on the outside but has a soft interior. They also had a "Garlic Poko Pan" for 110 yen, which is the Poko Pan with garlic margarine spread on it. The product description mentioned that it might be rare to encounter it, so when I saw only one left, I had to buy it. Additionally, they had a new product, "Fumi-san's Curry Pan" for 160 yen, a bread with a special recipe from Fumi-san, the wife of the founder of Masya Pan. I bought one of those as well when the staff was restocking. However, when more customers arrived, making it difficult to move around freely and browse leisurely, I decided to leave. Once I got home, I tried the "Fumi-san's Curry Pan." Seeing the product description mentioning "wife" reminded me of the wife of a former colleague from a completely different company (unrelated to Masya Pan). She used to act all high and mighty, expecting to be called "wife" rather than just "Mrs." Well, let's get back on track. The curry inside the Curry Pan was chunky, with clearly visible pieces of potatoes and pork. It was made with pork familiar to the Tokachi region. It wasn't spicy, and I particularly enjoyed the sweetness of the ingredients and the bread dough. It was nice to see that they used pork in it. As for the "Garlic Poko Pan," it was a bread with a chewy texture. When I bit into it, the garlicky flavor spread throughout my mouth. When I warmed up the remaining half and tried it, the inside had a chewy texture. The "Genovese" was salty. I'm not sure, but is Genovese supposed to taste like this? I received a stamp card with an expiration date of the end of March 2022. It seems to be valid at Masya Honten, Mugioto, and other related stores within the Tokachi area. You can get one stamp for purchases over 500 yen, and with 10 stamps, you get a 200 yen discount. With two of these cards, you can get a 500 yen discount. Remember, even if you buy a lot, you only get one stamp per purchase. Let's use it wisely! ^_^
