I found a nearby izakaya during my business trip in Asahikawa tonight. It was cold outside so I decided to go in without any research. The staff warmly welcomed me and asked if I preferred a counter seat or a booth for one person. I chose the booth. I ordered a Sapporo beer and was served edamame as a complimentary dish. Then I had pork skewers, liver (attracted by the sign in front of me), and oden because of the cold weather. The daikon and konjac in the oden were big, soft, and delicious. The grated garlic with the liver was also amazing. Hokkaido is known for its pork skewers, and the onion between the pork pieces balanced out the richness. I wanted to eat more, but I also wanted to drink, so I wrapped up in 30 minutes and paid the bill. Thank you for the meal!

On this day, we arrived in Asahikawa at night and planned to leave early the next morning, so I managed to convince my companion to visit this place before going to sleep. I wanted to try their yakitori after seeing the pictures. The restaurant was full, but luckily a group left just as we were about to give up, so we got a table. We ordered a bottle of Asahi Super Dry beer, edamame as a starter, Hacchome salad with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, boiled egg, and canned mandarin oranges topped with mayonnaise dressing. We also had chicken skewers, tender pork belly skewers, and grilled rice balls with salmon flakes inside. The yakitori was juicy and flavorful, and the grilled rice balls were crispy and delicious. 2020.4 I finally finished unpacking after moving, so I'm heading out for a drink~♪ First stop, "Yakitori Hacchome"! The customer next to me at the counter keeps talking to the chef, but the conversation is boring. Annoying~(￣∇￣) Luckily, the background music playing is great - Southern All Stars, Fukuyama Masaharu, Sekai no Owari, etc. - so I decide to focus on listening to the music. The appetizer is edamame, seasoned just right. The chicken skewers are 300 yen for 2 pieces, and they are so juicy and flavorful. The salt seasoning is just perfect. The chicken skin is tender, and the meat quality is good, though I prefer it a bit crispier. The pork skewers look well-cooked on the outside, but they are juicy and flavorful on the inside. The salt and pepper seasoning is just right, but I still think this place is best for chicken skewers. Overall, if you're craving yakitori, this is definitely a spot you can't go wrong with! ♫

I stayed in Asahikawa for one night for work and decided to have a drink at a yakitori restaurant called "Yakitori Hatchome" on my way to the hotel. The restaurant was quite busy with reservations, but I managed to get a seat at the counter until 7 pm. I ordered hot sake (Kokushimuso) for 400 yen, two skewers of liver (280 yen), and two servings of oden (daikon and ganmo) for 180 yen each. The oden had a mild soy sauce flavor, which I liked, but I wished it had a stronger dashi taste. The daikon was cooked perfectly, and the ganmo soaked up the broth nicely. The liver was cooked a bit more than I prefer, but the sweet and spicy sauce was good. It was a quick stop for me as I had more places to visit that night. After leaving the restaurant, I saw a bus and several police cars outside. It seemed like there was some sort of incident happening.

As someone who can't eat chicken, I thought this place was not for me, but I found out they have "pork skewers" so I decided to visit. First, I had a toast with a Premium Malt beer, and then I realized that they offer a 100-minute all-you-can-drink option for 980 yen (Premium Malt beer is an additional 300 yen). I ordered a variety of items, and the saltiness of the skewers was a bit strong, which I personally liked (I prefer slightly strong flavors when drinking alcohol). The grilling was also done well. Among the pork skewers I've had in Hokkaido, this might be the most delicious one. The service was good too. Although it looks like a typical izakaya, about half of the customers were women. With the all-you-can-drink option, you can keep your expenses in check. It's no wonder this place is popular with women. I definitely want to visit this place again soon.

What's amazing is that it's not fancy or spacious, but it's affordable, has a friendly atmosphere, great service, a wide menu selection, and a cost-effective all-you-can-drink option for small groups! See, it's a Shinbashi-style place. It was past 8 pm, feeling tired from overtime work, and I thought, why not have a drink? I called a few places, but the ones I wanted to go to were fully booked. It seems that popular spots in Asahikawa are exclusive, while the less crowded ones are empty. That's just how it is, right? This place was also full when I called, but they told me it would open up soon as the all-you-can-drink time was ending. So, I waited and eventually got a seat^^ With a coupon in hand, I said hello and ordered a drink. From 9 pm, they had an all-you-can-drink deal that included draft beer for less than 1,000 yen! Oh, it's almost 9 pm? That's fine♪ I was forgiven with a smile and we toasted with draft beer! Cheers! I carefully read the menu and ordered yakitori - chicken, guts, meatballs, simmered dish, and pickles! See, the traditional Shinbashi style order is faithful to the basics. The waitress recommended a seasonal dish that wasn't on the menu, and of course, I went for it^^ The sound of the bell ringing in the glass made of Hokkaido glass was delightful! I searched for a delicious restaurant in Asahikawa, where I didn't know my way around coming from Sapporo, for dinner alone. It was Friday night and I was a bit worried about going in alone, but I decided to give it a try. I thought I might be turned away since reservations are usually necessary, but they let me sit at the counter. The yakitori was tender and very delicious, with a wide variety of types to enjoy different flavors. The simmered motsu (offal) melted in my mouth without needing to chew, it was excellent! The music and atmosphere in the restaurant were very nice, and the staff was great at responding even though the place was busy. They were very considerate with the portion size, even down to providing just one toothpick. The only downside was that the clientele wasn't the best. Depending on the day, there were many young women and it's important not to speak ill of other customers. However, despite that, the service and taste were excellent today. There were a few things, but they even saw me off outside the restaurant, making it a fantastic dinner experience.

Customer service was great! I entered the store right after it opened and was greeted by friendly staff. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice, and the cost performance was good. I had a great time even as a solo female diner! I would love to visit this restaurant again when I come back to Asahikawa. Next time, I want to enjoy the all-you-can-drink option and have a chat with the staff while having a good time.
