I had lunch at Miyako-an. It's a soba restaurant, but it seems to turn into an izakaya at night. They have evening-only menu items like skewers, cold tofu, and even pizza. For lunch, you can choose from options like mori soba and tempura rice bowl. Feeling like having a rice bowl, I ordered the Sukiyaki-style beef bowl, which was delicious with well-cooked beef tendons and crunchy onions. It had a quality similar to a staff meal rice bowl at an izakaya. Next time, I'll try their soba. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant because it was recommended as a place for 100% buckwheat soba by the Hokuto City Tourism Association. It is located along the Kamioiso Pass. The interior of the restaurant is small, with counter and table seating available. As I carefully looked at the menu, I felt that the prices were very reasonable. This time, I ordered the Mori Soba (520 yen). The soba noodles were round in shape and had a length of about 60 cm, which is a specialty of Hakodate. It was a pleasant surprise to be greeted loudly by the staff when leaving the restaurant.

I usually go with my husband, but today I went on a solo stroll. It was just around lunchtime, so I ordered from the lunch menu. I got a half portion of egg and soba noodles for only 500 yen! With the recent increase in consumption tax, being able to eat for just one coin is a great pleasure (*^^*) As you can see in the photo, there is tempura made from udo (a type of mountain vegetable) on the soba, which the owner gave as a service because he went foraging for mountain vegetables the day before! This is not something they usually offer. This place also seems to double as a bar at night, as there were bottles on display. It looks like a place where regulars can relax and enjoy themselves in the evening.
