Cream bread, egg and ham cheese sandwich, tonkatsu roll, nikujaga croquette, sausage roll, chicken gratin bread, cream bread, roll bread, etc. The sizes were just right and there were various types to enjoy. We cut all the bread in half to share. The sandwich had a scrambled egg filling with ham, cucumber, and cheese, which was delicious. The pricing was neither too high nor too low, it felt like the typical price you would find at a local bakery.

Satochinaさんからのお得情報~(*´∀`)♪ Mon Pierre offers various deals that change depending on the day of the week, and starting from 5 pm, they have an even better deal with pastries for only 110 yen each! I can't keep track of how many times I've tried their "sable" cookies, but they were sold out the last two times, so I was happy to find them available again. This time, I also bought the "coconut" flavor, which has a strong coconut aroma and taste, perfect for coconut lovers! But my favorite is still the butter flavor, so I ended up buying two bags. I couldn't resist and ate one bag before taking a picture. The cookies have a crispy and simple texture, and they are delicious whether eaten as is or chilled in the refrigerator for a firmer bite. I've tried various fancy baked goods in Otaru recently, but nothing beats the simple "sable" cookies from Mon Pierre, especially considering their affordable price. I just noticed this time that the coconut flavor is slightly more expensive but comes in a smaller quantity, which I hadn't paid attention to before. I might check it out again next time to see if it's the same. The coconut sable costs 230 yen, while the butter sable costs 200 yen. This time, I was lucky that there were no other customers, so I could take my time choosing all the items. The lighting on the second floor was a bit dim, but I would love to take a break there again. It seems like the more I eat from this place, the higher my opinion of it becomes!

I was so surprised by how delicious it was when I tried it, so I decided to post about it. I didn't plan on posting originally, so I didn't take any photos... I happened to stop by a small bakery in a shopping street. It's a shop that locals frequent. I bought coconut cookies. They come in a pack of 5, and each cookie is big and voluminous. When I tried one at the hotel, it was so delicious that I was amazed. It was moist, crispy, and crumbly... with a strong coconut flavor. It's a very delicious cookie. Oh... if it's this good, I should have bought more of their products... If I have the chance to go to Otaru again, I will definitely visit this shop.

I don't even know how many times I've bought this suble! It's not like it's so delicious that it's moving, but I love its simple and rustic shape and weight. I tried buying rusk for the first time, and it was crispy and had a nice cinnamon flavor. There's quite a lot in the package, but it felt cheap. But I still prefer suble! I won't cheat anymore, I'll stick to this suble only! Suble 3.0

Last time, I tried a delicious and favorite sablé cookie. I was curious about the other flavors, so I bought all varieties. As usual, they are thick haha. Coconut flavor: very subtle coconut taste. Chocolate flavor: just like regular chocolate chip cookies, my chocolate-loving dad really liked it! In the end, the regular flavor is still the best, just as I suspected. As for this time's sablé cookies, they were a bit more moist and fluffy compared to last time. So, I put them in the fridge and they became a bit crispy. Maybe the texture varies depending on the day? Last time's were a bit harder but crispy and delicious. So, this time, I give it 3 stars. I hope they will be crispy and delicious next time haha.

I love hard bread, but fluffy bread is also hard to resist. During a hotel stay, I bought some side dishes and purchased a French bread for dinner. I couldn't finish the whole loaf, so I asked if they could slice it in half, and they kindly agreed. This kind of service is wonderful. The French bread had a soft crust with a good chewiness. The inside was fluffy but also had a nice texture. I thought it would make an amazing sandwich. When I got home, I had the remaining half. I sliced it and enjoyed it as is, and it was still delicious the next day!

I always passed by this bakery on Tsudori Street, but it was my first time going inside! They have a wide variety of reasonably priced bread. I noticed the Butter Sablé for 200 yen, which looked really thick (I also found the Coconut and Chocolate Chip ones interesting). I decided to take it to go and also ordered the popular cream-filled bread for eating in (I forgot the name). For my drink, I chose a warm tea, which came in a tea bag. I took everything to the 2nd floor where I found a nice, spacious seating area with cute Christmas decorations on each table. I enjoyed my cream-filled bread, which was fluffy and not too sweet, along with the tea. The Butter Sablé I took home was delicious, with a strong buttery flavor and a crisp texture. I might try the Coconut and Chocolate Chip ones next time. Overall, a great place to take a break and enjoy some tasty treats.

After leaving Miyofuku, I casually strolled down the main street pretending to be a tourist. The friendly shop assistant tried to get me to buy something! haha I ended up purchasing Excel Raisin, which was recommended by the store manager. The raisins soaked in rum were delicious! Excel Raisin Half 180 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

A bakery in the arcade in Otaru. There's Amaudo nearby and Ondine too, and there are many shops a short walk away, which is fun. They have a wide variety of bread, with many retro Showa-style options. Prices are reasonable and suitable for home consumption. They also have a wide variety of bread loaves (apparently, they are delicious). The Walnut Salt Bread was surprisingly good. It used to have an eat-in space, but I'm not sure if it still does. Thank you for the meal!

When I searched for Otaru bread, I found a really community-oriented shop. The prices are low enough for kids to buy with their allowance! I bought a lot for souvenirs and home use, but it only cost ¥700 and I got change back. Payment is cash only. I'm glad I had my wallet with me when I got out of the car. It's been a while since I used coins. The Danish orange bread was my favorite. The tape on the bag was designed so that the ends don't stick together, making it easy to peel off. The orange flavor was satisfying. When I buy orange bread from trendy bakeries or department store bakeries, I often end up disappointed because it doesn't taste like orange, but this one was spot on! It was delicious - the best! The bread itself is so tasty, so next time I want to try their simple white bread.

It seems that Nagasakiya has relocated to here on Miyako-dori. They were featured on TV for their bread, and I chose the 6-slice option. The price is the same no matter how many slices. The lineup of breads on display looks easy to eat at home. There were no hard breads, which I would have liked to see more of, but the customers were browsing slowly and the aisle was narrow, so I didn't force my way through and just went to the register with this. I can taste the butter flavor. There's also a hint of creaminess. It's reasonable and simply delicious. Who cares about high-end breads, right? You can also eat in on the second floor. On Mondays and Thursdays, you get double points, and on Tuesdays and Fridays, all drinks are 100 yen, but I went on a Tuesday so no special offer for me (>_<) I'd like to come back next time and try eating in. Thank you for the meal~♪

Visited Otaru City's Tanukikoji Street in October 2019. This is a shopping street in front of Otaru Station with an arcade, which is convenient on rainy or snowy days. There are two bakeries side by side in this shopping street, one being from Otaru Hotel. Montpierrot is more known for its sweet bread. Upstairs, there is an eat-in corner where customers can freely enjoy their bread. I purchased a "piroshki" for 140 yen, which was filled with plenty of glass noodles and minced meat, and was quite delicious. Since this bakery mainly offers sweet bread, it might be a good idea to take a break while sightseeing and enjoy a snack on the second floor eat-in area.

One day while exploring Otaru, I went to the third stop, "Cafe Croque," and then walked through the arcade street to "Montpellier." I took a tray and picked up some bread. I got a salted bread for 100 yen, a croquette bread for 110 yen, and a bacon epi for 130 yen. They were all good value for the price. I took them home and tried them. The salted bread was a bit soft on the crust due to the time passed, but the inside was chewy with a good amount of salt. The croquette bread was small but had a generous amount of sauce without being too overpowering. The bacon epi was also on the smaller side but had a satisfying chewy texture. Overall, they were all decent options. I usually don't eat corner bread at home, but I quite liked this one. Stay tuned for more of my Otaru exploration.

I bought a muffin, a galette, and a mini croissant. I couldn't eat anything except for the galette. It was delicious! I'm happy that it's cheap. I plan to buy in bulk next time.

The bread dough here is fluffy (I dislike hard bread) and there are many variations, which I love. The bread shaped like a chestnut has chestnut paste inside and is moist. It's my favorite.

Raisin Richmon (´∀`) for 160 yen excluding tax, now discounted to 90 yen excluding tax. The raisin has a light fragrance and the custard cream is not just on top, but also inside the pastry, adding a nice sweetness. It's like a dessert bread with a Danish pastry feel and a good size. Even without the discount, it's worth it. Thank you for the delicious meal! Thank you for visiting and reading ( ´∀`)/""""""""""thanks. Release 2017. Nankaihawks1's Gourmet Guide. From JR Otaru Station, head east on Chuo Street, then south from the Inaho 2-chome intersection to the southern end of Otaru Shotengai. The shop has a glass exterior on both the first and second floors facing the arcade. The first floor offers Western sweets and bakery items, while the second floor is for dining in. They have daily specials from Monday to Saturday. Their bread shelves range from familiar items to hard varieties. Their original "Shimeji Pepperoncino" has a spicy Italian flavor, while the "Edamame" bread made with germ dough highlights the sweetness of the beans. With a wide variety of options, you won't get tired of using this bakery for your everyday needs.

After having lunch at Bistro Koizumi, we took a walk along Tsudori Street for some exercise. It's nice to walk through these old shopping streets once in a while. Even though it's Sunday, the street is quiet and a bit lonely. When we passed by this shop on Tsudori Street, my wife said, "This place looks delicious!" She tends to go into a shop without waiting for my response in situations like this. The shop is spacious, and it looks like you can eat in on the second floor. The variety of bread displayed in the showcase is wide, and the prices are relatively low. The large croissant for 110 yen is a great deal. The croissant has a sugary coating on the outside and is fluffy on the inside. The flavor of the wheat is really good. The bread my wife bought was also very delicious. She said, "It's so good! I have to see it with my own eyes to believe it." She also said, "This is one of the best I've ever had." We will definitely come back here! According to my wife, she would rate it over 4 out of 5.
