I went to Takikawa for the first time in a while because I heard the cosmos flowers were beautiful. Unfortunately, they were a bit underwhelming. I had lunch at the restaurant in Denshukan and I ate the Duck Soba for 750 yen. The soba noodles were a bit soft for my liking, but they tasted good. My child had the Kids' Lunch for 500 yen, which was surprisingly luxurious for the price. It included a large fried shrimp, hamburger, scallop fry, spring roll with edamame, potato salad, shredded cabbage salad, tomato, and omelette rice. It also came with juice for only 500 yen! My child couldn't finish it all, so we took the omelette rice home. The food was delicious and my child was very satisfied. I wasn't expecting much, and was planning to order something safe like curry rice, but I'm glad I tried the Duck Soba. The smoky and slightly oily duck meat was to my liking.

It's the annual rapeseed flower festival. For the past two years, it has been around 26 degrees and I got a sunburn, but this time it was 16 degrees and a bit cold. There were five types of Genghis Khan rice bowl, but with a 1500 yen ticket, you can only try three. Each had its own unique taste and was delicious. The rapeseed flower ramen had a slight bitterness from the rapeseed toppings, making it quite tasty. The ramen at the event was surprisingly high quality. It feels like the start of a gourmet festival in early summer.
