I came all the way to Donan and wanted to eat fresh abalone. I wanted to eat sushi. But it was almost 3 pm. Fortunately, this restaurant seems to be open all day, so I decided to visit. The restaurant is located in a residential area, with a parking lot next to it. I entered the restaurant at an odd time and there were no other customers. I sat at the counter and ordered the special sushi. The chef made it right in front of me. The rice was a bit on the larger side. The abalone I was looking forward to was not too chewy, but slightly soft with a hint of fire. It was delicious. The ark shell was also tasty. And the sea urchin, which is also in season, was delicious as well. The sushi pieces were slightly larger to match the size of the rice. Overall, I think it was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Min Sushi is located off Route 228, heading towards Matsumae from Hakodate city. After passing by the fire station near Kiyokawa-guchi Station, turn into the alley just before the ENEOS gas station and go about 200m. The restaurant will be on the left. I arrived around 2 o'clock and was worried if they were still serving lunch, but I was relieved to find out they serve continuously without a break. I quickly ordered the premium sushi set for 2400 yen, which included 10 pieces of nigiri sushi: tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, crab, abalone, Hokkigai clam, conger eel, shirako, ikura, and sea urchin. The Hokkigai clam was rich in flavor and delicious, possibly sourced locally from Maehama. The abalone was also tasty, the yellowtail was fresh, and the conger eel was fragrant and tender. The seasonal miso soup with fuki (butterbur) was also delicious, and I received complimentary oboro tofu as a service.

Located on a local road without a central line, with parking for over 5 cars next to the store. Access by car is decent. Tried the premium sushi set for 2,400 yen. 1. Lean tuna - high quality. 2. Yellowtail - deliciously fatty. 3. Shrimp - average. 4. Crab - slightly watery. 5. Surf clam - average. 6. Abalone - tender, easy to eat, delicious. 7. Salmon roe - not a fan. 8. Sea urchin - delicious. 9. Conger eel - well-seasoned and tasty. 10. Herring roe - not a fan. Overall, the fish and rice were generously sized in a rustic style, good value for the price.
