I had lunch at Shigembei, a bento shop. Although I don't usually order bento, I was curious so I decided to visit. It was founded in 1982 and has been providing bento for 40 years. The bento options include fried food, meat, fish, curry, and more. I chose the salted mackerel and hamburger bento, without pickled plum and pickles. The bento is made after ordering, so it's definitely different from convenience store bento. It was simply delicious. I think they have benefited from the increased demand for delivery during the pandemic. National chains are good, but local bento shops that support local production and consumption are also wonderful. Thank you for the meal.

**September 2016** After a long time, I tried Jubei's bento. I had not used it before because there were some unknowns about the price and contents. Today, my colleague said they were buying it, so I decided to try it too. I had the shrimp fry and pork cutlet bento, which cost 810 yen. It felt a bit expensive, but since it was freshly made, it tasted good even though it was just average. Thank you for the meal. I wonder when I will try it next. **April 2015** I had the chicken cutlet bento from Jubei, a bento shop in Hakodate. It was a group bento, so the taste was reliable. It was not cheap. My colleague said they were buying bento, so I asked for one too. Jubei is part of the Bento group with three shops in Hakodate. I got the Jumbo Chicken Cutlet Bento for 690 yen. It seemed a bit expensive. It looked a bit lonely with just the jumbo chicken cutlet. There was a small amount of potato salad and pickles. The meat, which seemed to be chicken breast, was light and tender. The rice was warm and delicious. Overall, it had the "reliable taste" of the Bento group. Maybe I'll try Hotto Motto next time.

This is a takeout bento shop in Hakodate, Kamioi area, which has been around for a long time. In 2011, it was acquired by Aichi Foods, which operates bentos in Sapporo and other areas, so in addition to the existing menu, they have added common menu items with bentos. The special feature here is the seafood bowls such as Tekkadon and Ikuradon. This time, I ordered the Tekkadon. It was delicious with plenty of marinated tuna! By the way, the Yama-kake Tekkadon does not have marinated tuna. Other recommended menu items include Karaage-don and Ginger Pork Bento.

It's been a while since I had a bento from Jinbei-san! Maybe about 3 years? This time it was chosen by a young colleague for an evening meeting? Occasionally, we get bento provided by the company (^_^;)... but it's all meat...(￣▽￣;) Definitely the choice of a young colleague (laughs).
