On a certain weekday, I had lunch at a well-established sushi restaurant located on 2nd Street in Ebetsu City. The parking lot seemed to have enough space for parking. The interior of the restaurant had a traditional feel with a long counter, raised tatami seating with sliding doors, and table seating in the back. The background music was the midday news playing on the TV. I appreciated that there was a lunch menu, and I decided to try the "Seafood Bowl (1200 yen tax included)" this time. Taking a bite, I found the bowl surprisingly generous in portion with a slightly tangy and refined sushi rice. The toppings included a rich and velvety salmon, chewy squid, classic red tuna, flavorful scallops, thick white fish, sweet shrimp, firm octopus, plenty of flying fish roe, subtly sweet tamagoyaki, daikon radish, shiso leaves, cucumber, and pickled ginger. Additionally, there was a traditional gray soba noodles dish with green onions, tempura crumbs, and fish cake, a salad with potato salad, a gentle chawanmushi with bamboo shoots, chestnuts, chicken, and taro or lily root. Finally, I finished with a complimentary cup of hot coffee. Thanks to this meal, I was pleasantly full. Thank you for the delicious meal.
