I came to Sapporo for work and was asked to bring back a souvenir. Since it was a request for sweets from Asahikawa, I couldn't find them in souvenir shops, so I found a mall with the shop and bought them there. The requested item was a sweet called Kibana, which had different flavors, so I bought all four types available. I also noticed another sweet called Zoukirin, which was a cream sandwich with a strawberry flavor, and decided to buy it as well. These souvenirs are only available at specialty shops. I tried the regular flavor right away. The pastry was more fragrant and crispy than I expected, and the cream filling was slightly firm, giving it a unique taste compared to other sandwich cookies. Thank you for the meal!

I bought some sweets at Tsuboya at Ario Sapporo! Tsuboya has been around for 90 years, which is amazing! I tried the anko roll pie during snack time. Although it looks like pie, it feels more like a pastry. The anko inside is not too sweet and has walnuts in it. It kind of reminds me of Chinese mooncakes (lol). Oh, it's a snack that I really like! Thank you for the delicious treat! Congratulations on your 90th anniversary! I'll definitely visit again!

Today is the second day of my three-day weekend! I had lunch with my partner and then we strolled around. We found a cherry blossom-themed corner at Tsuboya! Spring has arrived in Sapporo! The traditional Hishaku Kan snacks are still delicious. I bought some: Sakura Senbei for 420 yen including tax, and Spring Limited An Madeleine for 200 yen including tax. The Sakura Senbei is delicious, made with domestically sourced cherry blossom leaves giving it a nice aroma. It's a mix of nostalgia and innovation. The Spring Limited An Madeleine has a sweet and sour strawberry flavor with white chocolate. It was a tasty treat. Even though it's a weekday afternoon, the place was crowded with many customers. I'll visit again when they change the corner display. That's all for my review! Excited!

The restaurant Tsuboya, based in Asahikawa, has recently opened a branch in Sapporo. When asked about their famous menu item, it is the An Cheesecake Tart available only at the Ario store. I purchased the An Cheesecake Tart for 200 yen. They opened it, heated it up carefully in two stages to prevent burning, and added some moisture before serving. The inside red bean paste was not warmed enough, but it was understandable to avoid burning. The creamy cheese paired perfectly with the mildly sweet red bean paste. Despite the price reflecting the quality of the cheese, the moist tart, cheese, and red bean paste complemented each other well, making it a great value for money product. This is highly recommended for its good cost performance. The popular item Kika was also enjoyable, and the Zouki Rin tasted familiar, like something you might find at other stores. Overall, I recommend the An Cheesecake Tart. Even though it may be delicious when cold, I suggest reheating it. The young staff member with a Kansai dialect was charming and fresh, coming from Osaka to work at a shop in Hokkaido. Ario offers a variety of good ingredients and events, allowing you to enjoy Hokkaido's cuisine. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the 1st floor of Ario Sapporo in Higashi Ward, Sapporo City, Tsuboya is a confectionery shop known for its Kika sweets from Asahikawa. In addition to Kika and other long-lasting baked sweets, they also offer cakes, cream puffs, and various other products. I didn't know that there were limited edition flavors for Kika. They also have an Ario-exclusive cream puff. I picked out various items, including a 90th-anniversary commemorative confectionery. The Chocolate Banana Kika is only available in a box for 700 yen. When you open it, you can smell the banana flavor. It's smaller than regular Kika and has chocolate sandwiched in the middle. It's delicious. The regular Kika has a new package design. It's a crispy almond galette with couverture white chocolate in between. It sparkles like a diamond. The Kika-Mukika Mond Selection has won the gold award for 35 consecutive years. The 123 Anko Roll Pie for 170 yen is a confectionery to celebrate the 90th anniversary. It's a pastry filled with Hokkaido red bean paste and has a nice walnut scent inside. The Wet Senbei for 150 yen comes in a pack of 6 bite-sized pieces. It has a unique chewy texture with a savory soy sauce flavor and a hint of sweetness. It goes well with tea and makes a great snack with alcohol. The Kiln-Baked Cream Puff (Ario store exclusive) for 180 yen is made to order, with the cream filled in the crispy pastry shell. The pastry is crunchy, and it's filled with plenty of custard cream that is not too heavy. Not just Tsuboya, but recently, confectionery makers in Hokkaido are coming up with new trendy products.

Ario Sapporo continues~♪ Found a shop that seems to be thriving! The name is quite stylish, isn't it? Tsuboya? A confectionery shop in Asahikawa! We can only think of "Kohana" (a different confectionery shop). We've passed by the shop many times, but it's our first time going in. Purchases: Mont Blanc for 360 yen including tax~♪ Strawberry Days for 330 yen including tax~♪ Fraisier for 310 yen including tax~♪ The prices are cheaper compared to Morimoto & Kinotoya & Peko-chan, right? After eating: The cakes are simple! The strawberry shortcake only has strawberries as decoration. There are no strawberries inside the sponge cake! The Mont Blanc is the same. It might be okay like this~♪ Nowadays, shortcakes are expensive, right? PS: Did you all eat Hina-ningyo (a traditional Japanese sweet) when you were kids? It's a classic for our generation! We would display it before Hina Matsuri (Doll's Day) and then eat it on the day itself. When was the last time you ate cake on Hina Matsuri?? That's all for now~ a light review (laughs).

I came to the Pottery House at the Ario near Miaoho Station. This Pottery House, located in a good spot, has a subtle image but is quite stylish. I went to the freshly made corner of the Pottery House, where they had tarts and sweet potatoes that looked delicious, so I bought one. Anko Cheese Tart 180 yen tax included I went to the food court and tried it. It was still slightly warm, and you could see that the cheese was on it firmly. Well then, let's dig in! The cheese has a slightly tangy flavor, with the anko being subtle. The tart was soft, maybe because it was warm, and it was delicious! This tart would also taste good if eaten cold. It was so tasty that I bought some for my family on the way back. Of course, I also bought some for myself. Thank you for the meal!

I'm not a big fan of sweet things, but I can still eat them. I bought these as a souvenir for my visit. The limited edition crispy "Kiln-Baked Cream Puff" from Ario, and the regular cream puffs (pictured) were available. The cream puffs were only displayed shortly before my visit, and I was told to eat them within an hour. The Kiln-Baked Cream Puff had a nice texture and the cream inside wasn't too sweet. It was well-received at the place I visited. I think they are good for personal consumption or as souvenirs.

This store is located near the front ATM entrance of Ario Sapporo. I purchased two "freshly baked cream puffs" (156 yen each) with a crispy cookie dough crust (I think...). They fill the cream right there, and to maintain the crispy texture, the cream puffs have a shelf life of one hour. The cream inside is smooth and delicious. If you live far away, it's best to eat them on the spot as there is a food court on the first floor. I would like to use this store again. Thank you for the meal!

This store is located right near the main entrance of Ario Sapporo. It has been a while since I last visited. Last time, I bought a regular cream puff, but this time I bought one of each of the two types of cream puffs they offer. Each costs 156 yen. One is a limited edition at Ario, called "Kamado-dashi Cream Puff," with a crispy outer layer. They fill the cream right there to maintain the crispy texture, and they recommend eating it within an hour. I happened to stop by the store on my way home, so I was able to eat it within the hour at home. For those who live far away, there is a food court on the first floor right in front of the store, so it would be nice to eat it there. The regular cream puff was delicious, but I especially liked the Ario limited edition "Kamado-dashi Cream Puff" with its crispy texture. The cream is smooth and tasty too! I plan to visit this store occasionally in the future. Thank you for the meal! (*^o^*)

I'm in Sapporo. I finished my grandchild's errand. Last night, I had a drinking spree. I heard we were going to Ario before eating ramen. I walked there with my eldest daughter and grandchild. I enjoy walking, so it's fine for me, but I later found out that we walked a bit to build up an appetite. I'm ready to eat a lot. We only stopped at one place, Toroya. It seems like something Mrs. Yome would react to - sweet potato and cheese tart. The customer service was impeccable. But, "The sweets didn't leave a lasting impression," I said after eating them. Both the sweet potato and cheese tart were just ordinary. The cheese wasn't strong, and there wasn't a strong sweet potato taste either. It's like a regular cheesecake without a strong cheese flavor and a sweet potato that isn't too prominent. Even if you say they're just regular sweet potato and cheese tart, well... Let's just say this time Mrs. Yome wasn't very helpful.

It's been a while since I had sweets. When you're on a diet and not eating them, the cravings start to fade away. Recently, my wife mentioned that she wanted to eat cream puffs, but I ignored her. Today, while buying sweets to send to my parents' house, I ended up buying cream puffs. They were called "Kiln-baked Cream Puffs" for ? yen. The crust was made of cookie dough and was crispy, a bit different from my preference. The custard cream was quite sweet, probably on the sweeter side nowadays. I like it though (^-^). But I think in the past, there were even sweeter Western sweets. It was my first time trying cakes from Tsuboya, and they were quite delicious. I'd like to try others as well! (^-^) Well then, thank you for the meal! (^o^) ************************************************************ This will be my last review of 2019. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the reviewers who have read my humble reviews, as well as to all the staff at the restaurants I visited. Even though 2019 will continue into 2020 with more reviews, I look forward to your continued support! Wishing you all a Happy New Year (^-^)

This shop is located on the first floor of Ario Sapporo, just to the left of the main entrance. I passed by the shop on my way to the second-floor food court after entering Ario and being hungry, and I was captivated by the vibrant colors of the three-color dango. It looked so delicious that I decided to come back and check it out after eating. When I visited later, there was only one pack left. It was a close call. Feeling like buying just that was a bit unsatisfying, so I also bought two cream puffs, took them home, and tried them. The three-color dango is a type with a slightly larger size and sweet red bean paste inside, rather than the type with different colored rice cakes skewered together. For three pieces at 390 yen, it's quite affordable for its size compared to the types sold in supermarkets. The cream puffs have a smooth cream that seems like a mix of whipped cream and custard cream and are very delicious. I forgot the exact price, but it's around 150 yen per piece. I heard there is another type of choux pastry, so I might try that next time. Thank you for the meal♪

It seems like there is a shop inside the main store of Tsuboya Sogen located on the first floor of Ario Sapporo near the Sapporo Beer Museum that sells freshly made sweets. I was tempted by the cream puffs but decided to go with just one flower this time. The most popular item is the normal type, which sandwiches white chocolate with almond galette. I have also purchased chocolate and strawberry flavors before, but it seems like simple is the best.

This seems to be a well-known Japanese and Western confectionery shop in Ario Sapporo, Asahikawa. They have a variety of beautifully displayed sweets in the store. I bought one Kabocha Biki (¥110) and one Tsubo Manju (¥100). Kabocha Biki is a seasonal limited product available from August to February, made with Hokkaido-grown pumpkin. It is a fluffy bite-sized cake similar to castella, with a mild sweetness that makes it easy to eat. Tsubo Manju is a simple and nostalgic steamed bun. The sweetness of black sugar is just right, not too sweet. Both of them are simple yet delicious sweets that truly showcase the blessings of Hokkaido's land.

I had never tried the cream puffs here before and was curious about them. I decided to try the freshly baked cream puff (156 yen), which has a light custard cream filling. The difference between the regular and freshly baked cream puffs was explained on the store's sign. The regular cream puff has a "rich" cream filling, while the freshly baked cream puff has a "light" filling. I was torn between wanting the rich filling and trying the freshly baked version, so I ended up buying the latter. The cream puff is only available at the Ario store. The sign also mentioned that for the best experience, it should be eaten within an hour. The cream is added after you order, and the size is slightly smaller than Beard Papa's. I usually prefer a firmer custard cream with a more yellow color, so I was a bit hesitant about the light custard cream. However, it turned out to be smooth and enjoyable, with no hint of vanilla bean. The pastry was crispy and delicious. I found my new favorite cream puff here, and at an affordable price, it's recommended for immediate consumption.

On the way to my parents' house, I pretended to be a spy and stopped to buy some fake souvenirs. I found a limited edition item at Ario and couldn't resist buying it! It's called "An Cheese Tart" and costs 180 yen. It's a tart with red bean paste and baked cheesecake on top. It was delicious, but I think it would have been even better if I had warmed it up in a toaster or oven.
