In October 2022, I revisited the izakaya "Marutoyo" in Erimo town. This is my second time here, but my first review. Both times, I had a local make the reservation for me. This time, I went with the omakase option for 4,000 yen per person. The picture shows the dishes for four people (excluding grilled salmon), including edamame, chanchan-yaki with shark flounder, steamed white clams in sake, Chinese-style fried chicken, grilled salmon, sashimi platter, and assorted tempura. The chanchan-yaki with shark flounder was a unique twist, and the miso sauce had a refined sweetness that was very delicious. The sashimi included shark flounder, marinated mackerel, and yellowtail, with shark flounder even having the fin attached. The tempura featured conger eel, eggplant, and pumpkin, with the conger eel being tender and flavorful. However, it was served last, and I was already quite full, so I ended up taking more than half of it home. Personally, even if you order additional items, the all-you-can-drink option for 4,000 yen remains a great deal. The chef is a professional fish buyer, so when it comes to fish, you can trust him! If you're looking for an izakaya in Erimo town, "Marutoyo" is the place to go!

Great value for money and the sashimi is delicious!

I was recommended to try this cozy dining spot, so I went there 3-4 times, but it was always closed. I wondered when they were open. As I was about to leave, the owner suddenly appeared and turned on the neon lights. "Can I come in?" "Sure, come on in." Finally, I was able to enter! It turns out they have been quietly operating inside all along. It's a bit of a high threshold to just walk in. Even though I knew it was a seafood izakaya, some of my friends don't really like fish, so we ended up ordering regular izakaya dishes. Next time, I'll bring friends who enjoy fish. I was surprised when a complimentary dish came out! Truly amazing! And at the end, they even gave my child a complimentary ice cream! I was so surprised! The potato fries were really crispy and delicious. The fried chicken was also flavorful and tasty! The regular izakaya menu was delicious, so next time I'll try the fish dishes! The seating inside is limited, so I wouldn't recommend it for large groups!
