On a certain holiday, I had onigiri at Marugame-san located inside New Chitose Airport. This shop sells seafood products, with its main store located in Maruyama. There is also a shop inside Daimaru Sapporo, but only New Chitose Airport offers onigiri! So, I came to the airport. Not to go on a trip, but because my nephew wanted to see the Doraemon Shop. I didn't know, but my nephew has been a longtime Doraemon fan. We strolled around the usually quiet airport and decided to have some onigiri. Even though I was still full from having a large portion of Kamameshi in Eniwa earlier, I couldn't refuse the invitation to eat together. We sat at a table inside the airport and I chose the salmon mayo onigiri. I usually have the salmon sprinkled onigiri, but this time I chose the salmon mayo. Come to think of it, the last time I was at the airport, this place wasn't here, was it...? Checking the official website, it mentioned that they are temporarily open from 08:30 to 19:00, but the onigiri sales are currently suspended. However, as of April 29th, they were still operating. So, if you want to try it, make sure to check first. The salmon mayo onigiri costs around 300 yen, while the ones with more expensive fillings are closer to 500 yen. But here, all onigiri have salmon sprinkled on top as a basic ingredient!! I always thought that having salmon sprinkled on top was normal since I always eat the salmon sprinkled onigiri... haha. It was only after using this place several times that I learned this fact. So, the salmon sprinkled onigiri here is equivalent to the salted onigiri. I see. I understand now. When I tried the salmon mayo, it was like that, huh. It's probably a mixture of salmon flakes and mayonnaise as the filling. I had thought that the salmon itself was mixed with mayo, but this was delicious too!! As I mentioned before, the onigiri is firm and solid, giving a satisfying feeling even with just one piece. It was consistently delicious this time too. Thank you for the meal♪ I'll come again.
