It's lunchtime in Obihiro, but as usual, I don't have much time. I searched for a nearby place where I could get something quick, and I found "Okudaira Rice Store." It's a rice shop with a small onigiri (rice ball) shop inside. Inside the kitchen, there were two older ladies who greeted me promptly. I ordered a tarako onigiri for 175 yen and a kombu onigiri for 160 yen (excluding tax). They started making the onigiri right away, and in less than 2 minutes, they handed me a bag with the freshly made onigiri. I ate them in my car. The onigiri was warm, soft, and perfectly cooked, a testament to the rice shop's expertise. The saltiness was mild, so some people might find it lacking in flavor. The tarako had a good balance with the rice, but the portion was a bit small, probably due to the affordable price. The sweet and savory kombu also paired well with the rice, but again, the portion was a bit small. The size of the onigiri was smaller than those from convenience stores, but it was satisfying enough. I would definitely visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

The onigiri from the rice shop is delicious indeed! I ordered a large onigiri with minced chicken and cheese katsuobushi. I also bought a set of tamagoyaki and spaghetti salad. The freshly made onigiri has a nice aroma of seaweed. The fillings are gently seasoned, allowing the taste of the rice to shine through. The rice is so delicious that I think they should also sell salt onigiri without any fillings.

I visited Okudaira Rice Store for the first time! It's Rice Ball Day today, June 18th. Upon arriving at the store, it was difficult to find parking. I bought two rice balls, one with plum and the other with cheese and bonito flakes, for 303 yen each. The rice balls were delicious, with a slightly firm texture and perfectly shaped. The plum was seedless and the cheese melted beautifully with the bonito flakes. Overall, the rice balls were much tastier than convenience store ones and worth the price. Thank you, Okudaira Rice Store!

Today, my dog with Addison's disease isn't feeling well, so I decided to eat at home. I went to Okuhira Migokuten, a delicious rice ball shop, and got a large rice ball set with salmon roe, cod roe, and chicken soboro for 495 yen. I also bought a snack from the store on the way back. The rice balls were large and the fillings were a bit less because of the size, but the rice was freshly cooked and delicious. The smell of good seaweed in the car on the way back was nice. The rice balls were soft and fluffy, with a mild saltiness that made the rice tasty. The kind service from the older ladies working there also made the experience pleasant. Thank you for the meal.

This is Obihiro, it's been a while. My work has been so busy that I can only take Sundays off now, so I feel like going out. If I had Saturdays off, I would definitely head to Sapporo. Lately, I've developed a mild allergy to buckwheat, so I've become afraid to eat soba noodles. I've been eating ramen instead. Today, I'm going to a ramen shop again, but I might arrive a little early. Since I have some time, I decided to visit a few places on my list to make the return trip quicker. I chose a place close to the ramen shop I was planning to visit, which turned out to be "Okudaira Rice Shop". It's a rice shop, right? My note says "onigiri" on it. I hardly eat rice, but I have 25kg of rice as gifts, so I don't need to buy any. I recently refilled my rice container, so it should last a year. I used the navigation system and found it across from Don Quijote. There were two groups of customers inside. When I tried to enter, it said "onigiri reservation from 11:00." It was 10 minutes before that. I opened the door cautiously and asked, "Is it okay?" The energetic lady replied, "It's okay!" There were three ladies, not piglets. One was eating something while making onigiri. I ordered "cod roe" and "salmon roe". They didn't mention the tax, unlike the previous customer. I watched them make the onigiri, and it was fun to watch. Before I knew it, they were done. Mine was already made, and the reserved one was being made. It was labeled as "Keipon" at the register. I didn't mention my name, so it just said "cod roe" and "salmon roe". When I put it in the car, a delicious smell filled the air. I had to resist the urge to take a bite. I waited until I got home to eat. I tried the "cod roe" first. It was delicious. The rice was tasty, but I wonder if it's good as rice from a rice shop. I don't usually eat rice, so it's just enough for an onigiri. My wife says it's "delicious". On the other hand, the "salmon roe" was a bit disappointing. The quality of the salmon roe wasn't good, and the portion was small. Can I really call this an "salmon roe" onigiri? I wish they would increase the amount of salmon roe, even if they raise the price a bit. It was a letdown. The love for salmon roe is strong, so the onigiri was quite disappointing.

I visited this place a while ago and remembered how delicious their onigiri was, so I came here to buy lunch. It's a take-out only shop run by a rice shop. They make the onigiri right after you order it (^-^) ★Visit Date★ August 4, 2017 (Friday) / Afternoon ★Purpose★ Take-out lunch ★Order Details★ Salmon, cod roe onigiri / Side dishes / Miso soup ★Order to Service Time★ About 3 minutes ★Food Impressions★ The freshly made onigiri is fluffy and the rice is cooked just right, very delicious. They are quite large. The saltiness is subtle. The moist seaweed has a homemade feel which I like. The side dishes include beans, pickled radish, spaghetti, and rolled omelette. Eating them together with the onigiri and sipping miso soup is very comforting. ★Recommended Point!!★ They also sell rice. It seems like they have larger sizes of onigiri as well. I wonder if there are people who don't like onigiri. I felt like I could eat one more.

★Sujiko for 199 yen I came all the way to Obihiro for onigiri (laughs). I really did it well this time (-∀-`; ) Even with the car navigation, I couldn't find it... Even with the Tabelog map guiding me, I couldn't find it... After circling around the area for about 20 minutes, I finally found it (゚Д゚)!! In a corner of the rice shop is the onigiri corner. Welcoming me is a lady in her late 70s (o’∀`)♪ The menu is reasonably priced, but the tax-excluded prices are a bit confusing... They make the onigiri after you order. Just watching the lady make them makes them taste even better :*(〃∇〃人)*: I wanted to buy some side dishes too, but they were sold out that day. I bought it for dinner, but the smell was so good that I decided to eat half in the car! The way it's made is just right~ヽ(´∀`)ノ As some other reviews mentioned, the surface holds its shape well, but it unravels in your mouth♪ The other half I ate at home for dinner. The rice was chewy. It's delicious even when it's cold (人´∀`)♪ The filling is a bit sparse, but for the price, it's not bad~ It was an onigiri with a delicious texture♪ Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

Ordering freshly made rice balls where the lady prepares them right in front of you, the perfect amount of salt, the crisp high-quality seaweed, and the deliciousness of the ingredients. Whenever I'm nearby, I always feel like stopping by. I always get one with pickled plum and another one depending on my mood that day. They're a little more expensive than convenience store rice balls, but considering my health, it's definitely worth it! There was a time when the content inside didn't match the label when I ordered by phone, but it's forgivable because they're so delicious (laughs). Oh, just writing this makes me crave it again. Thank you for always delivering deliciousness! I'll definitely be back soon.

Located on the east side of the Surprising Market (next to Don Quijote) on weekends, facing Eitetsu Street, it is slightly easy to overlook when driving towards the forest direction of Obihiro from Route 38. Upon opening the door of the rice and grain store, there is a space surrounded at the back of the store where a grandmother carefully makes the ordered onigiri. The onigiri range from 120 yen to 185 yen each (excluding tax), firmly packed but crumbles softly in the mouth. The salt is generously sprinkled, enhancing the sweetness of the rice. In addition to onigiri, various side dishes are also sold, ensuring a satisfying meal when paired together. Furthermore, with many large supermarkets and bento shops in the neighborhood, purchasing side dishes to enjoy with the onigiri adds more variety to the meal.

"I stopped by Okudaira Rice Shop during my lunch break in August for errands and to get some onigiri. This shop is known for making onigiri fresh to order in the rice shop corner. I have visited a few times before they moved to buy 'mame' (beans). I ordered sujiko for 155 yen, torisoboro for 110 yen, and then I saw the side dish set for 115 yen (all prices excluding tax), totaling 453 yen. I packed the side dishes separately and enjoyed them with my own bento box. I tried splitting the torisoboro for a photo, but it crumbled easily, so I ended up eating it as is. When you make your own onigiri, you tend to squeeze it tightly (is it just me?), but these onigiri hold up well in your hand, with the rice grains loosening in your mouth and the perfect texture. The torisoboro is seasoned with a slightly sweet and gingery flavor, making me crave a rice bowl topped with it. The side dishes are slightly sweet in taste, with a good balance of kinpira gobou, tamagoyaki, simmered beans, saraspa, and pickles. They use Niigata-grown Koshihikari rice, and from late September they start cooking new rice (as reported in the newspaper). I'm also curious about their limited edition 'tamago katsuobushi' available from October to April every year. In October, I visited again for the new rice and 'tamago katsuobushi'. I ordered torisoboro for 110 yen and tamago katsuobushi for 130 yen (excluding tax), totaling 259 yen. They hand-packed the onigiri in a case and put a sticker on it...but I couldn't find the 'tamago katsuobushi' sticker after half a year (laughs). But as long as one side has it, it's fine~ I enjoyed it at home. Since it was only 15 minutes after they made it, the rice was still warm. When I split it for a photo, the boiled egg whites were crispy, and you could see the yellow yolks mixed with the soy sauce-colored katsuobushi. The filling consists of chopped boiled eggs, katsuobushi, mayonnaise, salt, and mustard, which adds a nice touch (as reported in the newspaper). The mustard is subtle, but it enhances the overall flavor. I sometimes make my own onigiri with tuna mayo (with chopped onions), but it's hard to keep the filling together (is it just me?). However, these onigiri are expertly made, with the filling nicely centered (laughs). While low-carb diets are popular, I can't help but feel like an octopus eating its own legs. Of course, overeating is not good, but I want to enjoy a moderate amount of delicious food. How about trying these perfectly made onigiri? I will definitely go back for more! Thank you for the meal~"

Onigiri is delicious (^ω^) I am impressed by the way it is shaped rather than the taste of the ingredients or rice. A kind-looking lady takes the order and then makes the onigiri, giving it a warm touch. It's not the triangular onigiri you find at convenience stores, but a round onigiri with soft seaweed wrapped around it. When you take a bite, it makes you feel very happy.

I bought onigiri at Okudaira Rice Store on Sakaedori Street in Obihiro City. I couldn't decide and ended up buying a lot. They have various flavors like sujiko, salmon, cheese bonito, and chicken soboro, and all of them are delicious. Rice store onigiri is the best! Rice is really delicious after all.
