I decided to visit Niseko again this year and stopped by a restaurant where I had delicious food about 8 years ago. I bought the smoked eggs from Ishikawa Poultry Farm. The egg vending machine opens at 9 am, so I made sure to arrive by 10:30 am. Unfortunately, the fresh eggs were sold out, but I managed to get the smoked eggs. I bought 4 bags of 7 eggs each for 500 yen per bag. The expiration date for the eggs I bought today is until July, so I can safely take them home. An elderly lady on a bicycle who arrived later missed out on the fresh eggs and left empty-handed, expressing disappointment. I will definitely come back to buy more eggs when I am in the area. Thank you for the delicious eggs!

On November 24, 2015, I woke up to a snow-covered landscape and was surprised. My father and I came to a hot spring in Niseko, and decided to visit a shop that caught our interest. It was a fresh egg shop. They are very particular about the feed for the eggs. Inside the shop, eggs are sorted by size and sold in bags. They also have smoked eggs in packs of 3. I bought smoked eggs and large raw eggs. The smoked eggs were well smoked all the way through and had a good flavor. I had the raw eggs over freshly cooked rice, and even though the yolk was a bit light, it had a smooth taste and the egg white was firm and delicious. It was a long time since I had raw eggs over rice, and it was amazing. Thank you for the meal.

I saw this place in a magazine or newspaper a while ago and thought I should stop by when passing through Kutchan. But I always forget until after I've already gone past it. Finally made it here! Ishikawa Poultry Farm's "Miracle Eggs" are made with feed that includes Sanma from Kushiro and wine lees. They are sold as high-quality eggs. I think a pack of 15 large eggs was around 450 yen. They are a bit pricey, but they taste great even when eaten raw, and most importantly, they are safe and reliable. There is also a direct sales store near JR Kutchan Station where vegetables from contracted farmers are also sold, so I recommend checking it out!

Niseko Camp - First day in Japan, we first gathered the ingredients for dinner here. I have been curious about this place for over 10 years and decided to sneak in for the first time today! There were few cars passing by and no one around, so we entered the cabin without anyone noticing. I was puzzled by the unfamiliar sight but managed to read the instructions and make a purchase. This time, I bought "twins, maybe!?" and "kuntama". We couldn't tell if they were twins just by looking at them... but the professionals could tell! At dinner time, when we cracked them for tamago kake gohan (rice with raw egg), they turned out to be actual twins! It felt like a bonus to have two egg yolks for the tamago kake gohan! We also enjoyed the kuntama as a side dish with drinks, and its well-smoked flavor had penetrated deep inside, making it delicious. The motto of this poultry farm is "free-range chickens, self-formulated feed, self-raised chicks, and no-wash eggs, we believe that producing high-quality eggs within our sight is important." Although I rarely pass by this place, I will definitely stop by when I do. That's all for the visit in August 2014.

Today, after finishing visiting a client in Kutchan, I headed to Kyogoku Onsen to relax and saw a sign for this restaurant. I actually just had their raw egg dish the day before. I used to not like "tamago kake gohan" (raw egg over rice) but it was surprisingly delicious. About 6 years ago, I tried their "kuntama" dish which was recommended by my wife's sister. Both dishes were really tasty. Today, I decided to buy some to take home. I parked the car, went inside, and bought some from the vending machine. I'm not sure how many are in the pack, but it was 300 yen, so I bought it. As I was driving back, I had a great idea - I still have some at home, so why not give some to the boss in Otaru as a gift. After a quick soak in the hot spring, I rushed to Otaru. When I arrived at the boss's place, he was there. I handed him the gift and realized I forgot to take a photo of the eggs. So, I don't have a photo of the eggs, but I just had some "tamago kake gohan" for dinner, so I added a photo of the eggs.

While strolling around the station, I stumbled upon a shop with a lot of customers coming in and out. I wondered what they had to offer. Smoked eggs? I peeked inside through the open door and saw eggs in an empty space. I decided to buy a pack of two. They didn't put it in a bag or anything, so I had to carefully carry it in my big bag. Luckily, they didn't break. And they were delicious! I really enjoyed the smoky flavor and the rich yolk. The best part was that they had a shelf life of two months. I wish I had bought more! If you come across this shop, I highly recommend trying their smoked eggs!

- May 31 - This is about last night when I returned home after enjoying the susuki flowers in Hiratori. When my wife returned home from being out, she brought me some "kuntama" to where I was sitting with my laptop on my lap. She said, "○○ chan (sister) gave me this saying it's delicious." It was from the egg farm in Kunitachi that we had talked about before (laughs). This chicken farm is located along the road from Kyogoku to Kunitachi. I had been interested before, so I peeked in and they were being sold in vending machines. I immediately had it as a snack with some alcohol. "Kuntama" ... the shells are easy to peel cleanly. I took a bite )^o^( It's smoked well inside, with a rich flavor soaked in. Both the white and yolk are delicious! I had two for myself, but they were gone in no time (laughs). Next time, when I go myself, I'll buy some. (＾ｖ＾)
