In East Mall, there is a spacious restaurant but the air conditioning is not working well and it's hot. The staff must be tired working in this heat. The food arrived in about 15 minutes after ordering! I wasn't expecting much but the tempura was crispy and warm! Thank you for the meal!

The pork bowl in Obihiro, which is famous for its delicious pork bowls, is just as good as specialty stores. The quality of the meat, the taste of the sauce, the texture, the volume, and the reasonable price are all recommended. It is a family restaurant, so it's nice to have a variety of other menu options as well.

This is a family restaurant located in MaxValu. They offer a variety of dishes including rice bowls, Chinese food, ramen, pasta, curry, and steak. The Ebi Tempura Donburi (1089 yen) is a standout dish with a generous amount of crispy tempura shrimp towering over the bowl. The tempura is perfectly crispy and the sweet sauce complements it well. The shrimp tails are fried to a crispy perfection, making them a delightful surprise. In addition to shrimp, the tempura includes green peppers, eggplant, and pumpkin. The dipping sauce provided adds extra flavor to the dish. I also noticed a self-driving robot that delivers dishes, although it didn't come to my table. Overall, it's a unique and enjoyable dining experience at this restaurant.

Family shopping and lunch outing. We chose a family-friendly restaurant because we have an infant with us. It was crowded on this Sunday, but the staff and serving robots worked well together, and we were seated quickly. The menu had a wide variety of options, so everyone ordered what they liked. I had ramen with leeks and bean sprouts. There were two cat-shaped serving robots (or should I say cats?) that matched the restaurant's theme with their yellow appearance, which was quite refreshing. They zoomed around smoothly, and all the customers enjoyed watching them (haha). The kids were also very interested and had fun during the wait for the food. The ramen we ordered was a classic flavor, but overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience. It's a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal. We'll definitely come back.

On December 29, 2020, I visited a new restaurant called "Restaurant Himawari East Mall Store" after checking out new items at Okakusho. The location is inside MaxValu East Mall store in Obihiro, East Hokkaido. The restaurant has a spacious interior with wall-side counters and several table seats for 4-6 people. I ordered the "Shrimp Tempura Bowl (Special Size)" for 1,190 yen, which came with 6 large shrimp tempura, along with eggplant, pumpkin, green peppers, and more. The tempura was delicious and freshly fried, but there was no eel on the menu due to the year-end and New Year's special menu. I enjoyed the meal and will definitely come back to try the eel next time. Overall, a satisfying dining experience at Restaurant Himawari East Mall Store.

This restaurant was suggested as a place where you can go even with a baby. They have raised seating which is baby-friendly. I had the pork bowl and it was delicious, both the meat and the sauce. It's hard to find places where you can go with a baby, so I'll be relying on this place in the future (laughs). Thank you for the meal! I will visit again.

Whenever I went shopping at MaxValu, I was always curious about the popular restaurant HImawari in the Obihiro area. They have a variety of menu items, which made it hard for me to decide (laughs). After much consideration, I chose the tempura udon set. It was around 890 yen. The food came out incredibly fast!! (laughs) I couldn't believe how quick it was. The udon had a nice chewiness, and the tempura was crispy and delicious. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit again.

Peko-chan appeared, so I had some time to spare before that. I decided to have lunch at the Sunflower Restaurant East Mall branch to pass the time. It was a bit past 12:30, and the restaurant was quite crowded with about 70% of the tables occupied, which was surprising. The menu had a wide variety of options, but I opted for the affordable 500 yen lunch special (available from 11:00 to 14:00, excluding Sundays and holidays) which included a Vegetable Tempura Rice Bowl for 500 yen and a Salad for 100 yen. The food arrived in about 2 minutes, which was quick! The Vegetable Tempura Rice Bowl consisted of eggplant, green pepper, pumpkin, and maitake mushrooms, which was quite a generous portion for 500 yen. However, the tempura sauce was only on the surface, leaving the rice almost plain. I prefer my tempura rice bowls to have the sauce soaked into the rice along with the tempura. With the help of some chopped yellow pickles, I managed to finish the rice. Despite my comments, for 500 yen, it was a good deal! The salad was also worth the 100 yen, with a decent portion size and the option to choose from three types of dressings (yuzu, onion, and sesame). The yuzu dressing was my favorite. This restaurant is perfect for families who like a variety of dishes. Thank you for the meal!

"Restaurant Himawari East Mall branch" is a family restaurant managed by the popular supermarket "Ichimaru" in Obihiro. Originally, I was planning to go to the crowded pork bowl restaurant "Tonda" nearby, but there was a long line and I had another appointment, so I decided to visit this restaurant instead. Looking at the menu, they offer a wide variety of dishes such as soba, udon, ramen, set meals, rice bowls, hamburgers, pasta, and more. The menu is quite extensive! I initially planned to have the pork bowl, but there were so many options to choose from. The restaurant seemed to be popular among locals of all ages. I ordered the "Sunflower Pork Bowl" for 990 yen, which came with miso soup and pickles. It is the restaurant's recommended pork bowl made with SPF pork sourced from a pig farm in Tokachi Shimizu. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes and had a generous portion of meat. The meat was tender and delicious with a decent thickness. The sauce was a bit salty but had a rich sweetness from the sugar, which complemented the pork well. Adding some sansho pepper enhanced the flavor even more. The rice was also cooked well. Overall, it was a tasty pork bowl, although it may not compare to specialty shops. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and friendly service, making it a beloved family restaurant in the area. It was a satisfying meal! Thank you for the delicious food!"

This is a family restaurant inside the East Mall store of Shopping Center Ichimaru. Customers with Ichimaru's point card can earn points, making it a good deal. The restaurant has counter-style tables, regular tables, and raised tatami seating where you take off your shoes. I ordered the Cheese Chicken Cutlet Bento (880 yen) with a choice of soba or udon as a set. The noodles come in a cold broth, although they appear warm. The bento was average in taste, but the portion size was generous and the prices were reasonable. With a wide variety of menu options, this restaurant is convenient for families when they can't decide what to eat.

October 3, 2014 - Revisited - I visited the restaurant with my partner after about a year. There were two groups of customers before us and one group after us. My partner ordered the Sunflower Pork Bowl and I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Bowl. The pork in the Sunflower Pork Bowl is from Tokachi Shimizu, and it was more flavorful compared to the Bara Pork Bowl I had last time. The Shrimp Tempura Bowl had 4 shrimp, kabocha squash, eggplant, and green pepper tempura, and they brought the dipping sauce separately. I would like to try the Hamburg steak next time.
October 6, 2013 - My partner and I visited the restaurant for dinner. I had been there a few years ago, but it was my partner's first visit. We ordered Soy Sauce Ramen and Bara Pork Bowl to share. The Soy Sauce Ramen had a char siu slice, spinach, nori, menma, and a boiled egg. The noodles were cooked just right and had a decent flavor. The pork in the bowl was a bit thin and had a slightly burnt taste. I recommend getting extra meat and rice for men. It felt like the menu had become more limited since my last visit.

This is a restaurant owned by Ichimaru located inside Ichimaru East Mall. Although it may not be obvious from the exterior due to being part of a supermarket, the interior is like a family restaurant (with counter seats available). There are not many family restaurant-style places in Obihiro, so this restaurant is quite unique. They offer a pork bowl with sliced pork for the same price as the nearby Tonkatsu restaurant at 680 yen. In addition to miso soup and pickles, their pork bowl also comes with chilled tofu, adding a unique touch. The meat used is SPF pork from Tokachi Shimizu Farm, showing their commitment to quality. Other menu items include a variety of dishes like a hamburger set lunch for 780 yen with coffee, monthly specials like squid tempura rice bowl and chicken cold noodles for a coin lunch at 400 yen, and a cake set. The prices are very reasonable, and the quality of the food surpasses what you might expect from a typical family restaurant chain. They also have a branch at Ichimaru Plaza.

A family restaurant located in East Mall of Ichimaru. We sometimes use it when our children have music lessons at Yamaha music school and come home late. It has a typical family restaurant atmosphere with a variety of menu options, making it a safe choice for families with children. I recently tried the ramen there and thought, "Hmm, it's still just like ramen from a family restaurant." Since it's located inside Ichimaru, the parking lot is spacious, making it very convenient to stop by after shopping or after lessons.

Obihiro has few family restaurants, or rather, you could say there are none. The Sunflower supermarket is perfect for a family outing. It is relatively new and clean. They have a variety of dishes like bowls, noodles, and set meals, but my favorite is the generous serving of shrimp tempura rice bowl. It's less than 1000 yen for this price. It's a restaurant where you won't be disappointed. The Plaza branch is also the same.
