I took a drive to my favorite town, Biratori Town, where I used to work. The local specialties are Biratori Wagyu beef and tomatoes (Nishipa's Sweetheart), but it is also known for its mountain vegetables and, most importantly, as a sacred place for Ainu culture. Nibutani is known as a sacred place for the Ainu people, and there were major conflicts over the dam construction led by Mr. Kayano, the first Ainu member of parliament. However, now there seems to be a peaceful coexistence between Ainu culture and large-scale infrastructure. The Ainu Kotan here has multiple museums and Chise (large houses) with demonstrations, making it an attractive tourist facility with plenty to see. On the day of my visit, I enjoyed exploring the surrounding Nibutani Dam, where I found a cafe that provides employment support. The iced coffee had a simple and safe taste, so there's no need for any extra expectations.

I visited the café located on the premises of the Wind Valley Ainu Culture Museum in Hiratori-cho in October 2022. There is a pond in front of the café and there are also terrace seats, making it a nice environment for small children. I purchased a food ticket from the vending machine. They also have light meals and desserts available. I ordered an iced coffee. It was a refreshing and easy-to-drink iced coffee with a clean aftertaste. Next to the vending machine, they also sell wooden puzzles at reasonable prices. They are so cute. Highly recommended!

A cafe in Futamata Kotan that also serves as a vocational support facility. Visited on a Saturday afternoon. The previous customers were families with small children. I thought it would be expensive, but it was surprisingly cheap, almost too cheap. It seems like the kitchen staff are support workers, and the floor staff are individuals receiving support. I chose the Juicy Fried Chicken (250 yen). Purchased a meal ticket from the ticket machine. Opted for takeout. Ate it while it was still hot in the car. It's similar to the ones sold at convenience stores. It was really delicious. Hot and freshly fried.
