Normal taiyaki with cheese was my target, but it was discontinued, so I only bought croissant-style ones. "Shibare" is frozen croissant taiyaki. Croissant taiyaki chocolate (330 yen) has a crispy pastry like fried dumplings with a moist sweetness. The chocolate filling has a nice thick texture and is not too sweet, making it perfect! Croissant taiyaki red bean paste (330 yen) also has a mildly sweet and fluffy red bean paste. The surface has a sprinkling of sugar? It's not as sweet as it looks. Shibare croissant taiyaki coffee red bean paste (330 yen) Shibare croissant taiyaki sesame walnut red bean paste (330 yen) I will keep the shibare in the freezer and enjoy it carefully♪

No matter what, I was craving for a taiyaki and happened to come across this place! I entered excitedly and found out they had croissant dough and regular dough options! However, in my mind, I was picturing a fluffy and moist taiyaki dough! I really wanted to eat it! I ordered it to go right away! But... it was hard... too hard... I wondered when it was made. I'm sorry. I didn't take a photo because I picked it up and felt unsure about it. But the filling, whether it was red bean paste or cream, was delicious! So next time, I will call ahead to have it fresh and hot! I will review it again next time! (^-^)v

This time, I visited Yamadai-san to go on a soft serve ice cream tour. They offer vanilla ice cream for 300 yen and mini soft serve for 150 yen (they do not stamp your card for the soft serve rally). They also have taiyaki in 6 different flavors: red bean paste, whole bean paste, cream, chocolate, apple, sesame walnut, and coffee bean paste. Today, I was looking forward to trying the soft serve ice cream, so I ordered it! (You can choose between a cup or a cone). The soft serve ice cream has a taiyaki edge on top. It's a delicious way to enjoy the crispy taiyaki with the soft serve ice cream! The soft serve ice cream has a strong milk flavor, rich and delicious! It was on the sweeter side rather than refreshing!

The regular taiyaki comes in various flavors such as sweet red bean paste or cream, and it is a moist and soft taiyaki. It's nice that the ears are still intact. The crispy croissant taiyaki has apples in it, making it taste like an apple pie. Sometimes it's sold out, but if available, I always buy it.

When I entered the shop, a sweet aroma filled the air. They also sell dagashi (cheap sweets) here, and there is an eat-in corner as well. Looking at the menu, I decided to get the "Cheese" (165 yen), "Red Bean Paste" (165 yen), and the limited-time "Sweet Potato Paste" (170 yen). I received them freshly baked and enjoyed them in my car. The "Sweet Potato Paste" had a subtle sweet potato flavor, which was nice for autumn. The "Red Bean Paste" was made with beans from Tokachi and was on the sweeter side, but the balance with the mildly sweet taiyaki skin was delicious. Now, the "Cheese" was my favorite! It had a rich flavor of Tokachi cheddar cheese mixed with creamy cheese. If you love cheese, you must try this! I'm also curious about their frozen croissant taiyaki, so I'll definitely try that next time. Thank you, "Yamadai"!

I went to Yamadai-san! It was my first visit and I came to buy taiyaki. I bought one with red bean paste and one with cream. They said they would take some time to make the cheese one, so I decided not to get it. The red bean paste taiyaki was 140 yen including tax, and the cream one was 150 yen including tax. I tried the red bean paste one in the car immediately. My first impression was that the skin was hard and the taiyaki was on the colder side. The red bean paste was delicious, but the hard skin was a bit of a letdown. When I got home, I tried the cream one after warming it up a bit. It was the same as the red bean paste one. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Taiyaki Yamadai wanting something sweet to eat. While the croissant taiyaki is tempting, I decided to go with the regular taiyaki. I chose the winged taiyaki. When you heat it up in the microwave, the crispy texture is irresistible. The cream is also delicious with just the right amount of sweetness.

Today I went to buy a souvenir at Yamadai. They also have an eat-in area. I ordered 5 items: pizza tai, potemayo (both 140 yen each), and yomogi (I think it was 210 yen). The items, except for yomogi, were pre-made. Yomogi is a spring mountain vegetable from Hokkaido that I like. It's a bit early in the season, but it was delicious with a mild sweetness. I prefer freshly made items, but it was still good. Thank you for the meal.

I'm alone in Obihiro and it's time to go home. Some of the places I wrote down in my notes are closed, some are on holiday, and some are temporarily closed. It's not going as planned. Well, my notes mentioned "taiyaki" as well, but I'm already feeling like "I'm done!" but still, I put it into the navigation and when I arrive at the store, it seems like I can eat in with a couple running the place. Taiyaki can be eaten inside, but I feel embarrassed so I won't. They have croissants and regular ones too, and it seems like some of them are sold out of fillings. When I order a regular taiyaki with red bean paste and cream, they have it. Who will eat it? Should I push it onto my grandma? If I leave it, it will mysteriously disappear. When I got back and asked my grandma "You don't eat taiyaki, right?" she said "I do~" as I expected. I warm it up as instructed in the manual, 30 seconds in the microwave or 2 minutes in the toaster. The skin becomes crispy, and the filling is warm. I cut it in half and give my grandma the other half, but she only eats a quarter saying that's enough. The crispy texture is nice, right? The cream is not too sweet, so it's good. I start eating again, but the red bean paste tastes sweeter after eating the cream first. The skin is thin, and the filling doesn't have much thickness, so it comes with crumbs. It was delicious.

They didn't have the item I wanted in stock, so I asked if they had it and they said no. It was 10:30 in the morning. They asked if they should make it.

This is a shop I found on the way to go shopping. There is plenty of parking space in front of the store. Inside the store, there is also a section for traditional Japanese snacks. In addition to taiyaki, it feels like a place where local children can gather when they want a snack. The red bean paste taiyaki is delicious! The outside is crispy and crunchy, with a wonderful texture! Some people may prefer a moist type, but I like this texture. The sweetness of the red bean paste is mild. This is just right for a dessert after a meal. The croissant taiyaki is also delicious! The texture is enjoyable, especially with the coarse sugar on the surface. It makes for a good dessert. I found a good shop. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Visited on a Sunday evening. Passed by a father and daughter who were there to buy. Anko (red bean paste) taiyaki for 130 yen, Chestnut anko taiyaki for 160 yen (limited time). The red bean paste taiyaki had a nice bean flavor and was delicious. The chestnut anko was indeed chestnut, but it felt like it was missing something. I prefer the red bean paste. The skin was thin and the tail part was also filled with plenty of anko, which was a good point. The only disappointing thing was that the skin was a bit dry even when eaten right after purchase. I prefer the thin skin taiyaki to be crispy and fragrant. (They included a paper with instructions to warm it in the microwave and then toast it in the toaster for a delicious taste, but I wanted to eat it right away.) Despite the skin not being perfect, the red bean paste was delicious.

I visited Yamadai-san, located 700m southwest from Obihiro Racecourse. I had always known about this place but never stopped by until now. The shop is housed in the first floor of a traditional house from the 1970s, giving it a nostalgic feel. However, the interior has been nicely renovated and well-maintained, making it a pleasant place to visit. I couldn't resist the sight of the taiyaki displayed in the showcase and ended up purchasing without even looking at the menu. I tried the Croissant Taiyaki with red bean paste (230 yen), which had a crispy texture with a subtle sweetness in the croissant dough, enhanced by the caramel sugar on the outside. It was my first time trying croissant taiyaki, and I might even prefer it over the regular one. I regret not visiting sooner, as the taiyaki was so delicious. Next time, I want to try the regular taiyaki as well. Lastly, although I initially planned to take out my purchase, I changed my mind and decided to eat in. The staff kindly served me the taiyaki and even prepared tea for me, providing excellent service. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

After eating a rich ramen, I felt like having something sweet, so I finally visited "Yamadai" that I had been curious about. It was midday on a weekday, but some items were already sold out. I tried the Cheese for 140 yen, Limited Pumpkin Paste for 150 yen, and Croissant Taiyaki for 220 yen (Sweet Potato flavor) in the eat-in area. The Taiyaki with ears was very voluminous, with crispy ears and a slightly sweet and nostalgic taste. The limited pumpkin paste was not too sweet, with the natural sweetness of pumpkin soothing to the taste. The Croissant Taiyaki had a crunchy texture from the sugar coating and the croissant dough, making it enjoyable to eat. The Sweet Potato paste was packed full and satisfying to eat. There was complimentary tea available in the eat-in area (it was Hot Barley Tea during my visit), which was a nice service for those eating in. Thank you for the delicious Taiyaki and warm tea. I also received a stamp card with no expiration date, which will earn me a free Taiyaki when filled. I hope to visit again before items sell out next time.

There is a shop on the left side when heading south from Shirakaba Street in front of the horse racing track on 15th Street. When you enter the shop, which seems to have been renovated from a private house, the owner bakes taiyaki while the wife takes care of customers. There is also an eat-in space at the back. Looking at the menu posted on the wall, I ordered "Pizza Taiyaki for 140 yen", as well as "Anko (red bean paste) for 130 yen" and "Soft Serve Ice Cream for 250 yen"! I enjoyed the soft serve ice cream on the spot, topped with a taiyaki-shaped cookie that was baked firm. The taiyaki was warmed up at home as per the recipe. The texture of the crust was chewy and slightly firm, and the pizza filling had cheese, green peppers, onions, and ham or bacon? It was delicious! The red bean paste was also cooked skillfully with quality ingredients. It was tasty! Thank you for the meal~

I visited "Yamadai" (*^-^) which seems to have opened in September 5, 2013! I bought red bean paste, seasonal sweet potato paste, and pizza taiyaki ✿ It's just a delicious taiyaki, but maybe the pizza taiyaki doesn't have to be half? They also sell half shells separately, so you can add your favorite ingredients or jam. There is also an eat-in space in the store, so you can eat there too (o^∇^o)ノ It was a taiyaki shop that I look forward to in the future!
