I purchased salt ramen with a seasoned boiled egg as a topping from a vending machine. I also added some gyoza. The soup was very refreshing, and the noodles from Umekouken were delicious, especially after having eaten at Santouka recently. The gyoza had a strong flavor of garlic and ginger.

This is a ramen review from when I returned to Asahikawa. It was my last visit during this trip. Before heading back to Tokyo, I stopped by "Umekouken Asahikawa Airport Store" located in the Soraiichi food court at Asahikawa Airport in Higashikagura-cho, Kamikawa-gun, at 2-16-98 Higashi. I had the miso ramen (950 yen) which came with green onions, bamboo shoots, and large slices of chashu. The Asahikawa miso ramen also included bean sprouts. I also enjoyed a draft beer, which I believe was around 600 yen. Sapporo Classic beer is delicious. I flew back to Tokyo on the night flight this time. Asahikawa Airport is located in Higashikagura-cho, and the town's mascot character, "Kagurakki," is there to guide you in front of the terminal building. Umekouken Asahikawa Airport Store has been open at the Soraiichi food court at Asahikawa Airport since September 20, 2019. It is a branch of the chain store known as Inoue Umekouken. The miso ramen I had was made with Umekouken's low-hydration noodles, but they were slightly softer than usual. The bamboo shoots were more on the tender side than crunchy. As expected, Umekouken's ramen is always good when it's a branch store. Thank you for the meal.

Everyone was already full, but someone suggested having ramen as a final meal. We shared a bowl of miso butter corn ramen, enjoying the Hokkaido specialty flavor. This concluded our last meal of the Hokkaido trip. Stepping on the scale is going to be scary.

Around 12:30 in the afternoon, we arrived at Asahikawa Airport and headed straight to try Asahikawa Ramen. Since we didn't have time to visit the main shop during our trip, we tried it at the airport food court. The ordering system was ticket-based, with options for mini or regular sizes. Our family of three ordered soy sauce, salt, and miso flavors to compare. Despite being called mini size, the portions were sufficient. Personally, I preferred the spicy miso flavor the most. The soup, a combination of tonkotsu and seafood, is a unique feature of this ramen. I'm not a big fan of tonkotsu, so I found the miso flavor to be a good balance that softened the tonkotsu taste. The salt butter corn, which I had high hopes for, was a bit different from what I expected. However, the corn was excellent, with large, satisfying kernels typical of Hokkaido. The soy sauce flavor seemed to highlight the tonkotsu more. Overall, it was a delightful experience to enjoy the local ramen in a casual setting. Thank you for the meal!

This time, my niece's family and I drove around while discussing our favorite ramen in Asahikawa, and my husband and I immediately mentioned Umegahata. We arrived at the airport early and let the kids play around (they were looking forward to the flight simulator), and had our final feast at the food court. The kids quickly shouted, "Ramen!" However, these kids don't like tough meat or hard items. They didn't like the impressive chashu and distinctive thick menma here. So we enjoyed them as beer snacks. That alone was delicious enough. We had our own finishing ramen at another restaurant. Besides Umegahata, the other restaurants in the food court have changed several times since they opened.

During my business trip in Asahikawa, I felt like having miso ramen for my last meal, so I decided to have it here. I took a break in the afternoon at the main branch with beer and menma, and noticed that the chashu here is thicker than at the main branch! The menma is also thicker!! Maybe it's just me, but I like it better here. I think I'll come back here for my meal next time I visit Asahikawa.

A ramen restaurant in Asahikawa Airport's food court. It was my first time trying Asahikawa ramen, and it was a rich and refreshing soy sauce ramen with a lot of oil. The chashu was especially delicious with its thick slices of meat. It was also nice to have Sapporo Classic draft beer available.

I had some time at Asahikawa Airport, so I decided to have some ramen to end my trip! There were several shops to choose from, but I went with Umekoken. I was drawn to the salt butter ramen, so I ordered a half size (900 yen), which was just right for a late-night snack! The high-quality butter, corn, and thin noodles all mixed together deliciously! I'm curious about trying the miso ramen next time!

It was midday at GW, but the vending machines had no lines and the food court had a few empty seats. Even though it's in Asahikawa, it doesn't seem to be a shop that specializes in soy sauce ramen. They offered three types of ramen: soy sauce, miso, and salt. I ordered miso ramen with flavored egg. It was a bit pricey, but they had a half size option, which was great since battling fullness is a challenge on a Hokkaido trip! The noodles were thin, curly, and slightly white in color. They were chewy and delicious, not as thick as they appeared, which was just right. The miso soup had a hint of spiciness from red pepper, but it wasn't too spicy (might be mild for those who like spicy food). It was rich and not too oily. The bamboo shoots were large but soft, easy to chew, which wasn't my preference as I like a firmer texture. The flavored egg was on the strong side. It was a bit cold at the beginning, so it might be better to eat it after the soup warms it up. The yolk was creamy and delicious! There were plenty of green onions and bean sprouts, crunchy! The pork slices were thin and not very fatty. They were slightly dry. By the end of the meal, I was full. The flavor was strong, so the half size might have been enough.

I had lunch at the food court in Asahikawa Airport, and since it was a cold day, I chose ramen. Being in Asahikawa, I went for the soy sauce flavor. The main store of Umekouken here in Asahikawa was established in 1960. The broth is made from chicken, pork, and seafood, with firm noodles. I found it very delicious, but my friend thought it was a bit salty.

Since I came all the way to Asahikawa, I decided to quickly try the airport ramen despite being busy. It seems like the situation with COVID has calmed down, as there were quite a few people even on a weekday. I chose Umekouken because they had a half size option. The energetic staff kindly explained the ticket machine. The taste of the half-sized miso ramen wasn't particularly impressive, but it was decent for airport ramen. They even gave me a paper apron, showing great attention to detail. Thank you for the meal!

Having dinner at Asahikawa Airport. After eating teppanyaki, we still wanted to have ramen, so my son and I shared a half-sized ramen from Umekoken. It felt quite salty, but it was delicious with a rich soy sauce flavor.

After returning from a business trip in Asahikawa, I visited Umekouken located inside Asahikawa Airport for a final bowl of ramen. It's a shop in the food court, so I ordered a large serving of soy sauce ramen at the counter and then served it myself once it was ready. The soup was light and easy to drink, with a good balance of soy sauce flavor. The bamboo shoots were thick and satisfying to eat. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles typical of Asahikawa, with a great texture and perfect compatibility with the soup. The pork slices were also delicious. Despite being a food court shop, I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Umekouken's salted vegetable ramen was my favorite dish when I was in elementary school! I had it at the main store in Kaufman Park♪ The way the vegetables are cut is unique, and the sweetness of the carrots stands out and is delicious✨✨ It's a nostalgic taste❤️ I'm happy that you can also enjoy it at the airport✨ I always have the salted vegetable ramen, and the soup is also delicious with a rich flavor✨

After arriving at Asahikawa Airport, I had some time before catching the bus, so I decided to try the Asahikawa soy sauce ramen. The ramen was delicious! However, the chashu rice bowl was a bit disappointing as the chashu was dry and not very good. But I guess that's to be expected at an airport food court.

I had some Hokkaido coupon tickets left, so I decided to go to Umekokken to have some delicious ramen. I had visited the main store in Asahikawa many times before and it was one of my favorite ramen places. I tried the miso butter corn ramen, which I don't usually eat, since I had the coupons. Well, maybe it was because it was the airport branch or the staff was different, but for the first time in my life, I couldn't finish my meal. The noodles seemed like instant noodles and the soup was lukewarm. On top of that, the staff's service was terrible, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. I don't think I will be going back to this restaurant again, so if I ever feel like having ramen at the airport, I will go to the shop next door.

I came from Asahikawa to Higashikagura-cho. The coupon I received at the hotel can only be used at a few specific stores, which are very limited. I wanted to go to the airport as there are a few shops there, but the ramen place turned out to be at the airport. With a 1000 yen coupon, the ramen at the airport costs 950 yen. Even though I said I didn't need the change, they insisted on adding toppings, which I didn't want. Why do I have to pay extra for toppings that I don't even want just because they don't want to give me change? It's ridiculous. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I kept quiet, but the attitude was also quite rude. For 1150 yen, I had to carry around expensive ramen that I didn't even want. The noodles were softer than what I expected from Asahikawa, and the low hydration made them weak. It might be due to differences in how they cook the noodles. The menma had a strong seasoning and was hard to chew. I tried my best to chew it, but it got stuck between my teeth, which made my friend laugh. The char siu was tough and had a strange smell. What's wrong with it? Is this airport quality? The char siu was pushed as an extra topping. The flavored egg was tasty, but it couldn't make up for the overly salty soup. The soup was just too salty, which overpowered everything else. Is this really the quality of Ume Ko-ken's ramen? The soup was lacking, and the saltiness was too much. It felt like a shortcut was taken in preparing the dish.

I have experienced lost luggage before, but this was my first time experiencing a sudden cancellation 15 minutes before departure. It was the day before a work day. The end. Thanks to my companion, we managed to catch the last flight of the day, but due to the delay, there were no more trains when we arrived at Haneda. So, we passed the time in the food court until the last flight. I ended up eating ramen at the airport, which was not part of my original plan. I decided to be grateful for this unexpected opportunity. When I tried to buy a ticket from the machine, the counter next to it warned me, "It will take about 20 minutes." Fortunately, there was still plenty of time until the last flight. Soy Butter Corn Ramen for 1150 yen: Unable to choose between Sapporo Miso Ramen and Asahikawa Shoyu Ramen, I went with this one. It was my first time trying Asahikawa Ramen, which had a light pork bone soy sauce flavor. The thick menma had a soft texture and was not tough, which I liked. The sweet corn and butter mixed well and were addictive. The lean chashu was a relief for my aging stomach, with two large slices on top. The curly noodles were mixed well with the soup. This ramen became a memorable experience for me. No matter the emergency, ramen is delicious. And with that, my Hokkaido travel chapter comes to an end.

Half of the food court is still closed due to the impact of the coronavirus. I was feeling a little hungry, so I ordered a half portion of soy sauce ramen with a boiled egg topping and gyoza. The ramen had its usual delicious taste, and the gyoza was hot and tasty. Currently, the only restaurants open in the food court are ramen, spicy curry, soba, and teppanyaki.

At the airport food court before returning to Tokyo. Already full, so I opted for half-size chashu ramen. The noodles were half portion but the chashu was full, giving it a satisfying volume. Despite being a Asahikawa ramen with seafood-pork bone broth, it was surprisingly light with a modest amount of lard. The chicken chashu was a bit dry but acceptable for a food court. While it may not be completely filling, it's a convenient option for those who missed out on having ramen before heading back to Tokyo.
