I would like to introduce my favorite, Five Family. I have previously visited both a hormone restaurant and a casual tavern, both of which were excellent, so with high expectations, I headed to "Yakitori Tavern 55." Although it is a bit far at over 10 minutes walk from JR Kamata Station, it is just a 2-minute walk from Keikyu Kamata Station, located near the entrance of the shopping street.
**Ambiance:**
Among the three places I visited, this had the most user-friendly atmosphere. It has an open seating style typical of a casual tavern, but since it's a new establishment, it’s very clean and comfortable! It’s one of the more accessible casual taverns in Kamata. The staff’s hospitality is quite good, creating a pleasant environment.
**Food:**
- **"Meat Sashimi Platter"… 1980 yen**
A delicious serving of chicken sashimi has arrived! It features Satsuma chicken thigh, breast, and yukhoe, a luxurious trio. First off, it looks great and tastes amazing! The thigh has a great muscular texture, and the breast is tender and refreshing. I pour the miso sauce on the yukhoe and enjoy it with an egg. It’s so good! The sauce has a rich flavor, and combined with the tender texture and chicken flavor, it's fantastic.
- **"Dashi-Maki Tamago (with salmon roe)"**
This rolled omelet is so delicious! I can't believe how fluffy it is; it feels heavenly. The popping texture of the salmon roe adds a great accent!
- **"Liver"… 160 yen**
The airy texture of fresh liver is pleasant, and the aroma while cooking wafts beautifully. Even those who dislike liver will find this one easy to enjoy.
- **"Large Negima Skewers (Daisen Chicken)"… 280 yen**
These are served with salt. The skewer is so big that I want to comment on its size! It's very satisfying and the tastiness of the grilled chicken is evident, even in the negima (chicken and green onion).
- **"Chicken Wings"… 300 yen**
I don't usually order chicken wings because they can be a hassle to eat, but I tried them based on recommendations! Wow, this is a skewer you shouldn't miss; it's very satisfying, tender, and juicy.
- **"Tsukune with Egg"… 500 yen**
"Whoa, it's huge!" The tsukune (chicken meatball) is massive and very filling.
- **"Potato Salad"… 490 yen**
Potato salad topped with egg! The egg is mashed into the potato salad made with egg and mayonnaise, making it fun to eat. The accents of bacon and fried onion are great, and it’s surprisingly satisfying despite its simple ingredients.
- **"Steamed Gyoza"… 1090 yen**
The gentle chicken broth with tender gyoza is guaranteed to be delicious! I think this is quite reasonable for the amount at 1090 yen. To finish off, we had:
- **"Champon"… 320 yen**
The slightly thicker noodles are chewy and easy to eat, slipping down smoothly even for a final dish. There were no misses here! Just amazing!
**Pricing:**
- **"Draft Beer (medium)"… 550 yen**
- **"Chuhai"… starting from 400 yen**
- **"Highball"… starting from 430 yen**
The dishes often range around 200 yen or below for skewers and around 400 yen for side dishes, making the food feel more affordable compared to drinks!
**Overall Impression:**
As mentioned earlier, the quality of the food, pricing, ambiance, and service make it clear why this place is popular. If someone asks me for a recommended restaurant in Kamata, I can confidently recommend this one! I had an excellent meal once again.
