●●Waiting Situation●● I visited the restaurant at 1pm on a weekday! There were 2 people waiting outside, and I was able to enter the restaurant after 5 minutes. The owner of the restaurant trained at "Takeuchi" and "Kisuke," so I had high expectations for this visit! ●●Order●● I ordered the "Chicken Tempura, Sea Bream Fish Cake Tempura, and Warm Egg Over Rice" for 1050 yen! ●●Noodles●● The noodles were firm with a nice chewiness. However, they didn't have the same level of chewiness as Takeuchi's noodles. They were more similar to Kisuke's noodles. Personally, I prefer Takeuchi's noodles, but it's all a matter of preference! ●●Tempura●● The chicken tempura came in a normal size, with two pieces included. Since I ordered it over rice, it was a bit disappointing that it was soaking in the broth, but it still tasted delicious. The sea bream fish cake tempura had a subtle sea bream flavor to it. ●●Overall Impression●● I particularly enjoyed the noodles, as they had a great chewiness to them. Personally, I prefer Takeuchi's noodles for their chewiness and volume, but I can see why many people recommend this place. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I had an early lunch at Asuro, a company cafeteria! It had been a while since I walked in front of it and saw three people waiting, so I decided to go for udon without hesitation. The temperature felt like autumn, so I ordered tempura chicken, fish cake tempura, and warm egg udon. The udon was warm and soft, the tempura chicken was crispy and hot, and the fish cake tempura spread delicious flavors in my mouth. It was really delicious!

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday for the first time. Following advice from other reviews to arrive before opening to avoid waiting, I arrived about 5 minutes after opening. There was already a line of about 15 people (5-7 groups?). I waited for about 25 minutes and was seated at the counter. I ordered the recommended chicken tempura, sea bream and fish cake tempura, and warm egg on rice. The staff advised me not to put too much soy sauce as it can be spicy, so I adjusted it gradually while eating. The noodles were chewy and I left feeling quite full. Overall, it was a great meal. The turnover is fast as it is primarily an udon restaurant. With both table and counter seats available, the wait time is shorter for individuals or pairs. However, I may have arrived at the worst timing this time. It is recommended to arrive before opening or a little later for a shorter wait. For groups of three or more, the wait time may be longer due to limited table availability. (Larger groups on weekends tended to stay longer for taking photos and chatting.)

The best udon restaurant in the world is located in Ogimachi. I ordered the recommended chicken tempura, red snapper, and fish cake with warm egg udon while debating between cold and hot. While waiting, I drank bottled beer and got ready. When I faced the noodles, I first slurped as much as I could and ascended to heaven. The tempura was crispy and delicious. The noodles are just amazing. I will definitely come back next week!!!!

I've been curious about this udon restaurant for a while. There were about 4 groups waiting in line, but 2 groups were served quickly, so I decided to wait in line thinking I would be seated soon. After about 10 minutes, I got a table. I ordered the Niku Ontama Bukkake Udon with 3 pieces of Maiitake Tempura and 3 pieces of Toriten Tempura as toppings. I also ordered a small portion of mixed rice. Just when I ordered, it seemed like they ran out of mixed rice because the person who ordered after me was told it was sold out. Luckily, I got mine. The udon was smooth with a good amount of chewiness. The sweetly seasoned meat was delicious, and I wished there was more of it. The tempura was crispy and tasted great on its own or dipped in the broth of the bukkake udon. The mixed rice was, of course, delicious and I wished I had ordered a large portion. The tempura flakes were free but had to be ordered separately. The staff seemed a bit unfriendly or blunt in their manner of speaking, which was a bit off-putting. They seemed observant and capable, so it was a shame. Overall, the udon was delicious, so I might come back again.

Cold noodles, huh? I ordered cold noodles again. I just realized that I have only had cold noodles at Asuro-san before (laughs). The noodles are chewy and slippery. Huh? Did they change the sweetener in the cold noodles? It seems like there is more sweetness than before... I prefer it with a little less sweetness... I started with the regular toppings and added ginger and green onions halfway through! They said the default portion is 400g, but it was just the right amount for me as it was my second lunch spot of the day! I finished all the broth too! Luckily, there was no wait this day, so next time I'll try the mixed rice dish too! Thank you for the meal!

It's still hot every day! So, I went to "Asuro" in Temma again to eat their delicious "hiyakake" udon. I went on the weekend. I arrived before 11:30 and there were about 10 people waiting. Since it's udon, the turnover is fast, so I just waited in line. After about 20 minutes, I got inside. I sat at the counter. The udon at "Asuro" has a slightly larger portion compared to other stores (you can really tell with hiyakake), so even without toppings, the portion is satisfying. I tried the "Naruto wakame" topping for the first time, and it was a hit! The udon has a chewy texture with good firmness, and the cold broth has a deep flavor that is always excellent. On top of that, the Naruto wakame with a good crunch was amazing. For fans of hiyakake who want to taste the cold broth, this delicious cold broth doesn't overpower the flavors and doesn't leave you overly full, making it the perfect partner for hiyakake. In the still hot summer of 2023, I want to come back to "Asuro" for their hiyakake. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant at 1 pm on a weekday. I was lucky to enter without waiting in line, but there was a decent line afterwards. The noodles were not very chewy, but they paired perfectly with the broth, which was so flavorful that I drank it all. There were mostly women dining, and the portion size was not large, so I could have probably handled a larger serving! Thank you for the meal.

I visited Ogi-machi and had a bowl of Hiyakake Udon at Asurou. It cost 750 yen. With the scorching hot days continuing, this bowl of Hiyakake was a refreshing choice to cool down. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was noodles! I rode my bicycle for 5 minutes to a place a little off the beaten path from the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street 3-chome arcade, called "Asuro" udon shop. I had tried to visit a few times before lunch, but the long lines always made me give up. It's been 4 years since my last visit. When I arrived at exactly 11 o'clock, there was no line, and the curtain had just gone up. The stylish café-like interior with tables was full, so I was seated at the counter. I ordered the chicken tempura and sea bream fish cake tempura with warm egg udon for 1050 yen. It was scorching hot outside, and even though I only rode my bike a little, I was drenched in sweat. So, cold udon sounded perfect! After a 15-minute wait, my bowl arrived, and I dug in. The large bowl contained thick white udon noodles with cold dipping sauce, 2 pieces of chicken tempura, 1 sea bream fish cake cut in half lengthwise, a warm egg in the center, topped with sliced lemon and chopped green onions, and sprinkled with white sesame seeds. I crushed the egg yolk into the cold sauce, slurped up the noodles with a strong chewy texture, and enjoyed the satisfying amount. The freshly fried chicken tempura and sea bream fish cake were delicious! I want to come back in the cooler autumn weather and try their hot curry udon next time. Bon appétit!

This is my third time, so the content may overlap... As for the hot summer, I went for the reliable Asuro for some slippery udon. The recommended Tai-Chiku Toriten Bukkake is delicious! The cold, firm noodles mix with the savory sauce, and when you bite into the crispy chikuwa and toriten, the heat just disappears! I highly recommend this place! It might be crowded, but it's worth lining up for!

I visited an udon restaurant that had become a topic of conversation at a bar. The person who was always disappointed at not being able to find egg over rice or mixed rice there, so I went around 10:30 before opening. There were 2 groups waiting in line, and I was the third. Soon, more and more people lined up. They let us in a little earlier than the opening time. I ordered tempura with sea bream, fish cake, and soft-boiled egg on cold udon with shiitake mushroom topping, as well as egg over rice. The udon was slightly soft but had a good chewiness, the tempura was crispy, and the sea bream fish cake had a strong flavor that paired well with the udon and was delicious. The egg over rice had a rich egg flavor and was also delicious. I would like to try the hot udon next time.

Fanmachi Udon Restaurant "Asurou" is a popular udon shop that always has long lines. I ordered the following: - Seashoyu Udon (extra noodles, topped with raw egg) - Oroshi Bukkake Udon (topped with warm egg) The udon has a chewy texture and is delicious. This is my third visit. I arrived late at 10:53 am, luckily only the third in line as there were only two groups in front of me. It seems that the recent extreme heat has deterred people from lining up. I was able to enter as soon as the store opened. Once seated, customers rushed in and the restaurant was full right after opening. I ordered the large portion of the meat and rice bowl that impressed me last time for 1350 yen. It was just as delicious as before, with consistent quality. The hospitality of the staff was also pleasant, and I left satisfied. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Visited at 1:30 pm. The restaurant was full, so I had to wait about 5 minutes before being seated at the counter. I ordered the Toriten (chicken tempura), Tai Chikuwa (grilled fish cake), and Onsen Tamago Bukkake (udon with hot spring egg) in large portions. The restaurant had 3 counter seats and 5 table seats. The counter seats were a bit warm due to their proximity to the boiling area. The food was served promptly, in about 10 minutes. The noodles were chewy and had a nice texture. The Toriten was small but tasty, soaked in a flavorful broth. The Chikuwa was crispy and delicious. The broth was a bit too strong, but the balance of sweetness and acidity was good. Overall, my impression of the restaurant improved compared to my first visit. However, the prices were a bit high. But when it comes to enjoying genuine and delicious Sanuki-style udon in Osaka, the price may be justifiable. There was a long line forming when I left. It was a delicious meal. Thank you.

During lunchtime, I decided to go even though there was a line! But since I was alone, I was able to go in first. I already knew what I wanted, so I ordered the chicken tempura on rice bowl! I was also curious about the cold noodles. When the dish arrived, it looked so beautiful that I got excited by myself! The udon was delicious as expected, but the chicken tempura was crispy, juicy, and incredibly tasty! I give this chicken tempura a perfect score! I'm interested in trying the cold noodles and curry udon next time, so I'll definitely go back.

This is a revisit. Today, my wife, second son, and I visited this popular udon restaurant where there is always a long line. We arrived 10 minutes before opening, but there were already about 10 people in line... A few minutes before opening, the shutter opened and we were allowed inside. We had already decided on what to order before coming, and it turned out to be a great choice. We ordered the large serving of either meat or tempura udon. The dishes were served in the order of the line, and after waiting for about 10 minutes, they arrived. The appearance was beautiful, and the taste was amazing. The noodles were soft yet had a nice chewiness. It was so delicious. We slurped it up while saying "yum yum" and finished it immediately. I also took a bite of the chicken tempura udon that my wife ordered, and the cold dish had a soft yet chewy texture and was incredibly delicious. When I first visited this place around the same time as Kyutaro in Sakaisuji Hommachi, I thought I slightly preferred Kyutaro, but after this visit, I can't decide which one is better. Considering the line, I can't come here often for work, but I definitely want to come back at least once a week to try out various dishes. It was the best. So delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again next week.

This is my second visit. It was lunchtime and there were about 5 groups waiting in line, but they were taking orders while we were waiting so our food came out quickly once we entered the restaurant!! I felt like the udon noodles were a bit thinner this time, but maybe it's just me? However, the bonito broth was flavorful and the noodles had a great chewy texture, making it very satisfying and delicious.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. Despite the humid weather, I was in the mood for curry, so I ordered the "Nasu Tempura Curry Udon" (1000 yen). The udon was delicious with a nice chewy texture. The only downside was that they had run out of rice dishes, so I couldn't try the small rice as a service. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived before noon and there were 3 groups ahead of me, but I was seated right away!!! I ordered the meat and egg udon with natto topping, and it was so delicious! The meat was sweet and tasted like sukiyaki, which paired perfectly with the udon and natto. The portion was generous and filling! I will definitely come back again.
