On a weekday at the end of the year, I went to a certain dealer in Urakawa for an oil change, only to find out that they were closing early for the year-end and New Year holidays. Since I am also planning to go to Sapporo in January, I couldn't avoid getting the oil change done on that day. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I finished and decided to relax at Kuramitsu, where I enjoyed a nice bath. After the bath, feeling hungry, I headed to a nearby restaurant called Kai Koya Yuhi that had caught my attention for a while. The restaurant was located in what seemed like a construction site, with a spacious interior featuring counter and table seats. I chose a stable counter seat. Feeling like having tempura that day, I ordered the tempura set meal instead of tempura bowl. The set included shrimp, kisu fish, white fish, onion, pumpkin, and bell pepper, which seemed like a standard lineup. Although I thought about getting some salt, I decided to try it with the tempura dipping sauce this time. The tempura looked crispy and delicious, and I dipped it into the sauce with grated radish. The tempura quality was quite high. However, the temperature of the dipping sauce was quite cold, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the tempura set meal, including miso soup and side dishes, was of good quality. Next time, I might try the recommended tempura bowl or ramen.

I'm working in Shizuna (Shinhidaka Town) and heading towards Urakawa! Lately, whenever I come this way, I tend to eat in Urakawa, but my timing got a bit off this time and I ended up eating before entering Urakawa. Just past the Mitsui Road Station, there are many flags flying, and I've been curious about it for a while, so I decided to stop by. It's called "Kaikoya Yuhou". There were other customers inside, so I only took one photo of the interior, but indeed, you can probably see the sunset from the window. Should I have ramen, tempura bowl, or shrimp fry... I hesitated and decided on the tempura bowl. Oh! The deciding factor was the smile and one word from the lady at the shop, "Tempura bowl is also delicious~♪". It was ready in less than 10 minutes... What's this? Quite a unique presentation, right? Each piece of tempura is stuck on the rice, with an onion crown on top. The tempura batter is crispy. The sauce is slightly sweet and lightly drizzled. There's a sauce bottle for you to adjust it yourself. The tempura includes two shrimp, a fish called "kiss", pumpkin, green pepper, and something crispy but chewy, which turned out to be yam. Yam tempura is surprisingly delicious! I wish there was a bit more rice, but I'll call it a day at 80% full. It was a delicious meal. Maybe I'll try the ramen next time? I'll visit again soon!

Tonkatsu curry for 1050 yen. I visited this restaurant that has only been open for about half a year. The interior has a homemade feel, with a layout that seems to have been improved from containers. Surprisingly spacious inside, with both counter and table seating available. The menu offers a wide variety from ramen to set meals and rice bowls. I ordered the tonkatsu curry, which came with salad, miso soup, and Fukujinzuke. The salad was delicious with tomatoes and cabbage. The curry was not too sweet or too spicy, and the tonkatsu was quite substantial. It was delicious.

Located a little off the national highway towards the sea, this shop offers a wide variety of menu items despite its small interior. The prices are reasonable and the cost performance is good.
