During lunchtime in Higashikawa Town. There were no restaurants I was familiar with, so I searched on websites like Tabelog and found this place. It's a cafe inside a public facility, with a white-themed interior. The daily menu is displayed on a board outside the entrance, with actual samples shown. I thought this was nice. I entered and purchased a meal ticket from a small machine. They also had curry on the menu. I handed over the ticket and waited to be called. The main dish of the day was Mapo Tofu Donburi. It came with a fresh salad, tangy egg soup, pickles, namul, and an apple. The presentation gave off a cafe vibe. The Mapo Tofu Donburi wasn't very spicy, but surprisingly delicious! It's not authentic Chinese cuisine, but suitable for everyone. The salad was fresh as expected. The soup had a nice tangy flavor. The lunch menu had three options, including the daily special. Everyone seemed to have ordered the daily special. I enjoyed my 700 yen lunch.

On my business trip to Higashikawa, I had lunch at a restaurant in the town facility called "Sentopia". I tried the "Daily Set Meal (Unagi Chirashi Bowl and 4 other items) for 700 yen". I didn't expect much since it's a government cafeteria, but it turned out to be a great deal and delicious! The main dish of the set meal was the Unagi Chirashi Bowl. It's "Doyo no Ushi no Hi" today, so they had thinly sliced domestic eel on top of lightly flavored vinegar rice. The gentle seasoning without relying on sauce was really good. Even though I'm not a fan of cucumbers, I enjoyed the cucumber mayo topping. The salad was fresh and tasty. The miso soup was perfectly seasoned. And they even included fruits (tears of joy). All this for 700 yen! I should have come here sooner. The restaurant was comfortable with good air conditioning. You can add a drink for an extra 150 yen, like the "OK Ranch". They also have cake sets, perfect for a little indulgence (laughs). This town has many trendy cafes, but for a budget lunch, I recommend this place!

The menu for today was hashed beef rice, vegetable salad, french fries, consomme soup, and yogurt. I bought a meal ticket and headed to the counter... After about 5 minutes, my order was ready. The seating area was divided by sturdy acrylic panels, ensuring thorough COVID-19 measures. The hashed beef rice had a gentle flavor and was just the right amount for someone like me with a bit of a belly. I resisted the temptation to add a chiffon cake set and enjoyed my meal leisurely. This place might be good for cafe use as well. Thank you for the delicious lunch today.

The local residents in the town seemed to be using the restaurant for lunch, but I also noticed a group speaking a foreign language, so it may have a global atmosphere. Although Togawa is a small town, it seems to have a high level of culture. The lunch I had that day was a set meal centered around gratin, and it was well-prepared with a good cost performance. It's still cold in winter, even though it's sunny at this time of year, so the hot dish warmed up my body. It's a very good restaurant.

The food here is delicious no matter what you eat every day! Great value for money!

"Higashikawa Shokudo Wakka" I am alone in Higashikawa. I remember making a note a while ago thinking that Higashikawa is there. I was supposed to go the next day after making the note, but for some reason, I didn't go. I had a reason, but I can't seem to remember it now. Anyway, last night I drank in Kitami, so coming from Kitami, Higashikawa is relatively close and I arrived early. Despite not being a big city, there are plenty of unvisited restaurants, making it efficient. The next place had "onigiri" written, but I passed by without realizing and hurriedly turned back. It seems to be a cafe or some facility. It looks nice and refreshing, and the staff are very friendly. "Can I take out?" "You can take out anything." That's good. It's a ticket machine, and the prices are the same. That's normal, right? I don't know what I'm saying. It means there's no extra charge for the container. I ordered curry rice, and when asked, "Can I have today's curry instead?" I was actually hesitating, but I changed to today's curry when confirmed. I waited for about 10 minutes. It's a proper container. The appearance still looks cheap, but it feels good. I already rated it 4.0 before eating. The texture of the lotus root is good. The flavor of the curry... what is it? There's watermelon served, and I'm happy. "It's like Higashikawa," I said, but that doesn't matter.
