Boutique hotel. Warm service and delicious breakfast.

Ski jumper Harada's hometown, Kamikawa-cho, has an inn. It's more like a pension or a business hotel rather than a hotel, and it seems that many of the guests staying there are regulars. The rooms are not very spacious or luxurious, but the friendly service from the owner and his wife made us feel at home. I didn't have dinner there, but the breakfast was surprisingly delicious and satisfying. The simple home-cooked dishes like grilled salmon, rolled omelette, kinpira burdock, and salmon roe were made with fresh ingredients and tasted much better than what you would find in Tokyo. I regretted not opting for the dinner option.
