sarnins
I visited this restaurant again. There are several Okinawan restaurants in Sapporo, but this one is my favorite. The atmosphere is great, but most importantly, the food is delicious. They don't just serve Okinawan cuisine, they also put effort into the seasoning. My top favorites here are the "Foie Gras Gratin" and "Tebichi Oden", but if I order these two, I can't really order anything else haha. This time, I decided to try some dishes I haven't had recently, including new ones. I made a reservation for 6 pm on a Sunday. All the seats were reserved, showing how popular this place is.
- Appetizer ★★★★ 400 yen
Niku Jaga (Meat and Potato Stew): The owner called it Niku Jaga, but it's actually meat tofu seasoned like Niku Jaga. The tofu is deep-fried and there's plenty of burdock, making it delicious. The tamagoyaki, chikuwa, and cucumber are always tasty.
- Champloo The Mongol 800 ★★★ 730 yen
This was my first time ordering this dish. It's a mix of Genghis Khan, bean sprouts, bitter melon, and tomato with a yakiniku seasoning. It's a bit sweet with a nice touch of acidity from the tomato. It's delicious, but I think I prefer the regular champloo. The portion of champloo here is a bit smaller, maybe similar to the lunch set portion.
- Kori ★★★★ 550 yen
Another first-time order for me. It's chicken cartilage deep-fried with pineapple, although I couldn't really taste the pineapple flavor. The sweetness of the chicken cartilage fat is delicious. This goes well with awamori. I personally like it, but some people might find the fat overwhelming.
- Grilled Soki ★★★★★ 800 yen
Another first-time order, and it turned out to be a hit. I was a bit worried about the fattiness, but it was surprisingly not greasy at all. It's tender and goes well with alcohol. This one is really delicious.
- Jimami Tofu ★★★★☆ 450 yen
Consistently delicious.
- Mozuku Tempura ★★★★ 500 yen
Also consistently delicious. It was even better the last time I had it, but it's still within the margin of error.
- Taco Rice ★★★★ 730 yen
I actually prefer the taco rice here more than the one I had in Okinawa. I had taco rice in Kin Town about 20 years ago, and I remember the cheese being too strong, so I didn't really like it. But the cheese in this restaurant's taco rice is not overpowering. The cheese, salsa sauce, and seasoned ground meat mix together perfectly, making it very delicious. I was very satisfied this day. They will soon celebrate their 10th anniversary. Keep up the good work!
