I visited the restaurant around 6 pm on a Saturday evening. I was very hungry because I had a busy day at work. My husband had been curious about this restaurant for a while. It is located near the supermarket we often visit. When we arrived, there was only one other customer in the restaurant. We were told to choose any seat we liked, so we sat at a table towards the back.
Looking at the menu, I noticed they had a daily special set meal, so I decided to order that. For the second dish, we wanted noodles, and even though I was tempted by the spicy tantanmen, I ended up choosing the Cantonese noodles. About halfway through the meal, I realized I had forgotten to take a photo! I had recently started writing reviews and hadn't gotten into the habit of taking photos before eating, plus I was so hungry that I completely forgot (oops). So, unfortunately, I only have photos of the exterior of the restaurant and the daily special menu.
The daily special set meal was curry-flavored stir-fried chicken, served with rice, soup, salad, and almond jelly for dessert. At 680 yen including tax, it was a great deal. It took a bit of time for the food to be served, but when it arrived, everything was piping hot and delicious. The soup and salad were tasty, and although the stir-fry was a bit on the salty side, the vegetables were crisp and the rice was perfect.
The Cantonese noodles were also served hot, with plump shrimp, squid, vegetables, and plenty of wood ear mushrooms. However, when I took the first bite of the noodles, I was surprised at how soft they were – almost to the point of feeling like they were overcooked. But as I continued eating, I started to appreciate the soft texture, and it became quite enjoyable.
I believe the Cantonese noodles were around 780 yen. While we were eating, a couple of Chinese customers arrived, and my husband mentioned that it's always a good sign when Chinese people eat at a Chinese restaurant. Whether it's the Japanese-style seasoning or the authentic flavors, I personally enjoyed the meal. It's also great that they offer set meals on weekends. Oh, and I almost forgot – we also had some dumplings! I think they were around 450 yen for a serving of 5. The dumplings had a thick and chewy skin, which was different from the crispy thin-skinned dumplings I usually prefer, but they were still delicious.
In the end, we ordered three dishes and spent less than 2000 yen for both of us, and we left feeling very satisfied. The cost performance was excellent. It was a great dining experience. Thank you for the meal!
