During my visit back to Asahikawa, I tried the shoyu ramen at "Ikkyu-san" located at 2-1-18 Nishimachi, Higashikawa-cho, Kamikawa-gun. It cost 700 yen. This ramen follows the simple Asahikawa style with just green onions, menma, and chashu. The clear broth soup was delicious, and the chashu was large and tasty. Ikkyu-san has limited opening hours, so it's best to visit when you can. The parking is available in front of the shop or at designated spots, so make sure to check the store's signage. The menu offers shoyu ramen, miso ramen, chashu ramen, rice, onigiri, cold ramen (summer only), and hot udon (winter only). The noodles were from a local noodle maker, Hagiwai Seimen in Higashikawa-cho, and were delicious. The broth had a slight sweetness and was easy to enjoy. The chashu was especially tasty. Higashikawa-cho has seen a population increase and is known for its support for families. Overall, if you have the chance to visit Higashikawa, I recommend trying the delicious chashu ramen at Ikkyu-san.

As you all know, I love Ikkyu-san. In the summer, they have a dessert menu with soft serve ice cream and shaved ice. I don't usually have dessert after a meal, but I was curious. Today, the weather was nice and warm, so I rode my bike there. The soft serve ice cream was 330 yen. I don't eat dessert often, so I can't say if it was especially delicious or expensive. But it was good today because it was hot. Next time, I'll try the shaved ice. I'll definitely come back.

I went to eat my favorite ramen at Ikkyu-san again. As always, I had the soy sauce ramen in a large portion (1.5 servings) for 900 yen. It was delicious as usual! I need to lose weight, but I couldn't resist drinking all the soup. I will definitely come back again.

I went for lunch today as well. Last time, I tried the Char Siu Ramen for Instagrammable photos, but I got too full, so I went back to my usual ramen. Soy sauce ramen, large serving (1.5 servings) for 900 yen. It seems like the price has gone up from today. I don't mind because I like the ramen here. I will come back again.

Nice to meet you. I wanted to eat char siu so I ordered soy sauce ramen. First, I checked the taste. The soup was light and slightly sweet, just like the blogger said. While waiting for the ramen, I could smell the garlic, which is a good addition to miso ramen. I'd like to try miso ramen next time. The noodles were a large serving of 1.5 portions, but it felt like a regular portion for one person. I think trying 2 portions next time would be good haha. Also, the restaurant used to be open only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but it looks like they have added more days now.

I had to work on my day off, so my energy level is really low. I had ramen at Ikkyu-san to recharge, and I'll keep working hard in the afternoon. Today, I had a large serving of Shoyu Chashu Ramen (1.5 servings). I may have overdone it with the large portion of chashu ramen. I'm so full now. If you're someone who loves to eat a lot, you should definitely try it.

I have always relied on this local ramen shop. For me, this is the only place to go for ramen. The soup, noodles, and chashu are all delicious. Today, I had my usual ramen (1.5 servings of soy sauce ramen) and it was so good as always. I will definitely come back again.

The ramen was delicious without any off-flavors. The soy sauce ramen had a distinct taste to it. I also tried a small rice dish made with locally produced Yumepirika rice, which won the top prize. It was very chewy and had a sweet aroma, very delicious. I would like to visit this restaurant again.

"Ikkyu-san" It's annoying when people add "san" to their own names, right? This weekend, I ended up in Higashikawa. It's a city that both my wife and I like, so I felt a bit hesitant to come alone... but if I don't say it, she won't know... well, she'll find out eventually. Yes, she'll find out today. Higashikawa is not the city to come to when you want to eat ramen. There are quite a few places I didn't write about, but I ended up here because I couldn't resist the urge to eat ramen. If you search for "ramen" in Higashikawa, only a few places come up. If you search for cafes, it won't fit on one page, so it's definitely not a ramen city. I enter a place with a newly hung curtain. The owner's wife says, "The parking next door is not ours," I see. I need to move my car. I remember seeing a sign in front of the store, but you wouldn't know unless you got close to it. I guess they are running the place alone. I sit at the L-shaped counter. There are also three table seats. There's a TV. I ordered soy sauce ramen because they don't have salt ramen. It's 700 yen, which is reasonable. It arrives in about 7 minutes. I wonder if they would get mad if I said it's worth more than 700 yen. The water is lukewarm. The noodles are not from Asahikawa, they are familiar noodles. They are a bit thin and tasty. The sweetness bothers me from the beginning. It's fine if it's vegetables, but it doesn't go well with this sweet ramen. There is a little bamboo shoot, just for show. The chashu is big, which doesn't make me happy. I prefer more fatty meat, but this lean red meat is tough. It's out of place with the atmosphere of this place. The chopsticks and utensils are left scattered. The soup is salty, that's Higashikawa for you. The soy sauce flavor is strong, with umami and richness. It's nostalgic, like the ramen you have at the end of a meal. It's salty, so I add more water, but it's still lukewarm.

A traditional ramen mood comes over me (*˘ ˘*) While wandering around the Higashikawa area by chance...♪*゚ I think of nearby shops that serve rich ramen... I like them, but it feels different... not in the mood for that today... Oh well... I park in the shade and check on Tabelog for options ( ̄∀ ̄) Ah... I found a shop that I already saved... haha [Soy Sauce Ramen] ♬ 700 yen. They don't have salt ramen on the menu... I've had too much of soy sauce ramen before, but today I feel like having it... ♬ The female owner looks serious and calm, with an elegant atmosphere ✩.*˚ She works efficiently without wasting any time, so I have high expectations ♬ The ramen arrives piping hot as expected ♡ The large slice of chashu catches my eye ✩.*˚ The aroma when I lightly lift the noodles is very nice~♬ It's a nostalgic and favorite scent for me (*˘ ˘*) sniff sniff ♡ The noodles are cooked perfectly in the middle ♬ The soup has a faint vegetable, dried fish, and kelp flavor, with a solid base of chicken and pork bones...♪*゚ I think they simmered it slowly and carefully without boiling it vigorously to bring out the umami flavor ✩.*˚ Yes... this is the kind of ramen I wanted to eat today, so I am satisfied~♬ It was delicious ♡... I'll probably go back again sometime ♬ Thanks for the meal~(*´∀`)♪

Today, I ordered a classic soy sauce ramen at Higashikawa. It was served in just 3 minutes, very fast! The soup had a cloudy appearance typical of Asahikawa ramen, with quite a bit of oil floating on the surface. The soy sauce flavor wasn't too strong, with a subtle sweetness. The menma (bamboo shoots) were salted, and the chashu (roast pork) consisted of two large slices of pork loin, which felt like a good deal. The chashu had a nice texture but the flavor was a bit light. The noodles were the standard low hydration, medium-thin curly noodles of Asahikawa, and they were served quite firm by default, which I personally liked. The noodles had a strong wheat flavor. Overall, the price of 650 yen was very reasonable and offered good value.

The fish curry and garlic base is not bad, but the sweetness is overpowering and can make you get tired of it. The shaved ice is also a summer staple at the restaurant.

I finally made it to eat here. I ordered the miso chashu ramen. It came with three large slices of chashu on top, very filling! The soup was on the lighter side but still very tasty and satisfying. It's a shame they only open for lunch on weekdays. I would love to come back again.

When I was riding on the Higashikawa Line, I found a cafeteria-like shop that seemed to offer cheap and delicious food. It seems like their main dish is soy sauce ramen for 550 yen, which is a good deal. However, I wasn't in the mood for ramen, so I decided to try their pot-cooked udon for 600 yen, which was perfect for a cold day. I always find food with a lid exciting to open, and this dish turned out to be surprisingly simple yet delicious. Even though it wasn't fancy, the taste was satisfying, especially considering the price. It was quite crowded, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their ramen, so I assume that's their specialty.

Miso and soy sauce ramen with their respective chashu, a compact menu that is the opposite of the popular rich and fatty style in the Asahikawa area. This ramen is simple and easy to understand. I ordered the miso ramen this time. Underneath the classic toppings of bean sprouts, minced meat, and onions stir-fried with miso, there are thin noodles from a local noodle factory. Some may find it not filling enough, but personally, I think the taste is spot on and never gets boring. It's a shame that it's only available for lunch on weekdays, but that also adds to its appeal. I will definitely go back again.
