Located near Tamachi Rokuchome Station, I had my first dinner at Seiran. I have been a regular for years for their lunch, and have always claimed it to be one of the best in the area. Even now, the lunchtime queue is always long, with a system where you write your name and wait like in a family restaurant. I had always wanted to leisurely enjoy dinner there, and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to have a course meal in a private room. Of course, it was fully booked. The private room is tucked away, but the staff always kept an eye on us, ensuring a flawless operation without any difficulties in ordering. What was interesting was that while waiting for all the members to arrive, they asked if we wanted to practice a toast. It was a bit formal gathering, but they made it more relaxing. The dishes were delicious, with items like Bang Bang Ji, tomato syrup pickles, sweet and sour pork, seafood XO stir-fry, and mapo tofu - a lineup of Chinese cuisine all-stars. I particularly liked that they didn't stick to a specific genre of Chinese cuisine. Also, I noticed that the wine bottles displayed as decorations during my lunch visit were actually available for order (such as DRC). This is not something I am familiar with, but it showed their potential. Just for your reference!

I visited a restaurant called "Seiran" in Matsuyamachi that I had been curious about for a while. I arrived at the restaurant 40 minutes before its 11:00 AM opening time. I signed in with my name and number of people on a board outside the restaurant and waited until it opened. When the restaurant opened, there were about 20 customers waiting.
I ordered the "dim sum lunch" with a change to shark fin soup. The meal included three types of appetizers (steamed chicken, shrimp, Taiwanese century egg), spring rolls, three types of handmade dim sum (shrimp and chive dumplings, Cantonese siu mai, spicy siu mai), shark fin soup, sweet and sour pork, rice, almond tofu, and sesame dumplings. The steamed chicken, spicy shrimp, and unique Taiwanese century egg appetizers were delicious. The spring rolls were hot and filled with ingredients, the dumplings were chewy, and the shark fin soup was very tasty.
The main dish, sweet and sour pork, was incredibly delicious with flavorful pork and a sweet and tangy sauce. The cost performance was good, and I would definitely like to visit again to try other dishes at this restaurant!

I visited the restaurant around 1pm on a weekday and didn't have to wait. I ordered the lunch set for 2000 yen, which included appetizers, main dish, rice, soup, dim sum, and dessert. It was quite filling and you could even get free rice refills. I also ordered the xiaolongbao separately. Overall, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the cost performance was really good.

I had a great lunch at Seiran! Although there was a line, I was lucky to get in without much of a wait. Everything was delicious! The assorted appetizers included lychee pickled tomatoes and shrimp with soft skin that you could eat as is. The dim sum was also delicious, and the almond jelly dessert was amazing. I had the seafood chili, which was full of plump seafood, and my companion had the sweet and sour pork, which they said was delicious.

There is a restaurant located between Tanimachi Kyuchome Station and Tanimachi Rokuchome Station, which means it is a bit far from either station, taking about 6-7 minutes to walk. However, it is worth the walk! This time, I chose the prefix course for 6000 yen. It includes a platter of 3 appetizers, shark fin soup, 2 types of dim sum, and you can choose 3 dishes from the menu. Please note that this course is for 2 people or more. On this day, I chose seafood XO stir-fry, classic sweet and sour pork, and fried rice. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, good value for money, and delicious food.

I visited for lunch! I ordered the customizable lunch set for ¥1300 and chose the "tantanmen" noodles. Hot jasmine tea was served, and I sipped on it while waiting for the food. The meal started with a Chinese-style egg soup with a thick texture, which had a gentle flavor. The salad came next, and I chose the sesame dressing. On the plate to the right, there was something that looked like kinpira gobou, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be zasai (pickled mustard greens). It was visually appealing and delicious. The main dish, tantanmen noodles, was incredibly tasty! It was quite spicy, with a distinct star anise aroma, the richness of sesame, the numbing sensation of Sichuan pepper, and the soup coating the chewy noodles. I thought, "It's been a while since I had such delicious tantanmen!" I finished by diving the remaining soup with rice and savoring every bit. Lastly, I had Tianjin-style shumai and shrimp dumplings with chewy skin, dipped in vinegar soy sauce. They were also delicious! For the quality and quantity at ¥1300, I was completely satisfied! I sincerely hope to revisit this place.

I arrived a little after 11 o'clock for my second visit. I entered around 11:30 and ordered the Blue Lunch set. It came with three appetizers, dim sum, and soup, which I changed to shark fin soup. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and well-balanced with sauce and vegetables. The meal was comforting and satisfying.

Our restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the west on Tabelog for two consecutive years. Especially popular for its high cost performance during weekday lunches, where you can enjoy delicious Chinese dishes such as the famous sweet and sour pork, it is a must-visit spot with long queues. Arrived on a Saturday at 12:50 pm and signed the sheet in front of the store, becoming the 12th in line. A staff member came out immediately from inside and announced that today's reservations were closed. Luckily, it was the perfect timing for a turnover, so I only waited about 20 minutes before entering. After contemplating between the sweet and sour pork lunch, I decided to order the dim sum lunch (3 appetizers, spring rolls, soup, 3 dim sum dishes, rice, dessert). The dishes arrived smoothly in order. Let's dig in! Everything is delicious! Especially the famous sweet and sour pork has a unique texture to the pork, which is delightful. The spring rolls are also a favorite, and the dim sum dishes are of high quality. All this for 2,300 yen is fantastic. I'm full. Next time, I will try the weekday limited lunch. I have found a new favorite Chinese restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like having Chinese lunch and decided to visit Seiran in Tanimachi 7-chome, which I had been checking out for a while. I was able to enter the restaurant quickly, perhaps because of the timing. It seems that there would have been quite a wait if I had arrived just 5 minutes later. The Chinese lunch was very satisfying, but I felt a little rushed towards the end of the meal, which left me slightly disappointed as I left the restaurant.

This is a highly rated restaurant and the staff were very friendly. I enjoyed a leisurely lunch. I ordered the seafood lunch and it had a lot of shrimp in it. I also upgraded to shark fin soup for an additional 500 yen! There was steamed chicken for appetizer and I could have seconds of rice. I am very satisfied!

When I went to Fushimi in Kyoto in February, I had a bad fall and ruptured the ligament in my left ankle. After about 1 month in a cast and using crutches, followed by 3 months of rehabilitation that ended at the end of May, my aunt suggested celebrating my recovery by going to "Seiran" restaurant. I had been there once when my aunt moved to Osaka, and the food was delicious back then. This time, I requested a la carte instead of a course menu. We ordered:
- Seiran-style sashimi of red snapper
- Sweet and sour marinated jellyfish
- Spring rolls
- Chive dumplings
- Stir-fried duck breast with yuzu pepper
- Sweet and sour pork with black vinegar
- Stir-fried shrimp and squid with miso
- Seafood fried rice
Every dish was delicious, but the black vinegar pork was outstanding as always. My aunt loved the chive dumplings, and my wife praised the spring rolls. We all agreed that the seafood fried rice was a must-order for our next visit. As for drinks, I highly recommend trying the Shaoxing wine here. We had the 10-year and 15-year aged Shaoxing wine, both were smooth and easy to drink with a long aging process. It pairs perfectly with Chinese cuisine. While it may not be a place we can afford to visit regularly, it's definitely a special occasion restaurant that we would love to visit again. I'll have to ask my aunt to treat us next time!笑

This is a Chinese restaurant located about 5 minutes from the Sora Shopping Street in Tanimachi 6-chome. The exterior is not very eye-catching, but despite heavy rain, there were a few people lining up. I ordered the Tantanmen lunch set (1,300 yen) this time. First, we were served tea in a teapot, followed shortly by egg drop soup to warm us up. Then, a salad arrived, with delicious meat and sauce. After finishing the salad, the Tantanmen arrived. The Tantanmen had a classic spicy flavor, with a light soup and just the right amount of spiciness. Apparently, they also have a black sesame Tantanmen. While enjoying the Tantanmen, we were pleasantly surprised to find Shumai included, which was also delicious. It was a satisfying lunch that offered more than its price. Highly recommended for those nearby! Note: Tantanmen is only available on weekdays for lunch.

Visited for dinner. The standout dish was the sweet and sour pork with blueberries. The tender meat was easily cut with chopsticks. It had a nice balance of sweetness, heat, and acidity. Even though I was full, it was so delicious that I finished it all. My wife started lecturing about how good the sweet and sour pork here is, so I asked if she doesn't like sweet and sour pork. She confessed that she actually doesn't like it. Then why didn't you tell me earlier! I ended up eating the sweet and sour pork she left behind. Oh, and the mapo tofu was also excellent.

A slightly upscale Chinese restaurant in the city. I was able to make a reservation on the same day in the morning. I was very satisfied with the food and wine at this casual yet authentic Chinese restaurant in the city. Here are my thoughts on each dish ordered:
- Red snapper sashimi Blue style: The presence of sansho pepper was mesmerizing.
- Taiwanese century egg with sweet vinegar and ginger: A lovely new proposal.
- Steamed chicken cold dish Sichuan style: The overlapping flavors of drooling chicken and sansho were a bit disappointing, but it was delicious!
- Stir-fried shrimp and squid with shrimp miso: The carefully prepared XO sauce cooking was good, but needs reconsideration.
- Chef's whimsical shrimp stick spring roll: I was expecting more shrimp flavor.
- Adult ice cream: Noble rot wine with vanilla ice cream, the best!
- Wine Bourgogne Chardonnay by Bottle: Priced at less than half of Vivino's rating, it felt too cheap. Thank you very much for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

2023. May - Memo - Today, I visited a restaurant called "Seiran" for the first time, which I had been eyeing for a while. I had planned to order "Sweet and Sour Pork," but when I arrived at the restaurant, I was surprised to see that the weekly special was "Shrimp Mayo"! I love shrimp and mayonnaise is my favorite condiment, so I decided to go for the "Shrimp Mayo" while waiting in line. It turned out that the weekly special menu had been discontinued since then, so I was glad I chose the "Shrimp Mayo." Also, it seems like the prices have gone up since my visit, so I felt like I got a good deal by visiting before the price increase. I ordered a draft beer for 600 yen and the lunch set for 1300 yen, which included a choice of dishes like "Sweet and Sour Pork," "Spicy Dan Dan Noodles," "Stir-Fried Seafood and Vegetables," or the weekly special, along with salad, soup, two dim sum dishes, and steamed chicken appetizer. The steamed chicken appetizer was tender and tasty, and the shrimp in the "Shrimp Mayo" dish was delicious and satisfying. It was a satisfying lunch, but I also want to try the amazing Sweet and Sour Pork next time I visit. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived 5 minutes before the store opened, and wow, there was a long line! I wrote my name on the list and waited for 5 minutes. Finally, the store opened and they called us in order. I barely managed to get the last counter seat! Phew, that was lucky. I ordered the sweet and sour pork lunch and waited. They quickly brought out jasmine tea, soup, salad, and dim sum as part of the course meal. I felt great, and then the main dish of sweet and sour pork with rice arrived. I was completely satisfied. Many restaurants have dusty shelves in front of the counter where they place the alcohol bottles, but this place was clean. The cleaning and service were both excellent, which is probably why there was a long line. I left feeling happy. Thank you for the meal.

On May 17, 2023, I visited Aoran for the first time for lunch in Yotsuya. I arrived before opening to sign in, then waited at the entrance 5 minutes before opening. I ordered the popular sweet and sour pork lunch set for 1,300 yen. The dishes were served one by one, starting with appetizers and soup, followed by dim sum, and finally the main dish of sweet and sour pork with rice. It took about 25 minutes for the main dish to arrive, but the wait was worth it as each dish was delicious and well-prepared. The restaurant is perfect for those who want to enjoy a leisurely lunch. The quality of the food was impressive, and it was a great value for high-quality Chinese cuisine. The sweet and sour pork was particularly outstanding, with a crispy exterior and juicy pork in a hot and flavorful sauce. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I used it for dinner. The level of the a la carte menu was higher than I expected. I was especially amazed by the mapo tofu and black vinegar sweet and sour pork. The sweet and sour pork was so tender that I didn't need a knife. The spicy sesame noodles at the end also had a sweetness within the spiciness, and it was a taste that seemed addictive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was comfortable and the service was polite. It has joined the list of restaurants I want to visit regularly in the future.
