On the way back to Sapporo from Rumoi Main Line, I got off at Fukagawa Station. Looking out from the dimly lit station as the sun had set, I could only see a few illuminated shops, like a cram school and a convenience store. Walking towards the station where the limited express train stops, I couldn't help but feel a bit lonely. I decided to enter this shop with lights on. It seemed to be a café during the day and a snack bar at night. The interior was well-maintained and gave off a good impression. With about 45 minutes until the next express train, I decided to relax here. Since the shop was in snack bar mode, I ordered a beer from the mama-san. I also asked for some snacks to munch on. The mama-san was a good conversationalist. We talked about both present and past stories of Fukagawa, as well as some unexpected topics. The snacks were not overpowering in taste and paired well with the beer. Time flew by quickly, and it was time for the train. I bid a reluctant farewell, wishing the mama-san good health.
