Visited on August 28, 2023! Curry rice for 700 yen. This cafeteria has been around for over 50 years inside Enzan Stadium. The curry had a very nostalgic taste. The walls were filled with signatures of old pro baseball and high school baseball players, bringing back memories of my own school sports events. It was a truly nostalgic experience.

During the visit in July 2023, at the end of the 5th inning of the first match, I went to the central shop at the baseball stadium and bought a frankfurter on a stick for 300 yen and a can of Black Label beer for 350 yen, totaling 650 yen paid with PayPay. Before the second match, I went to the Enzan Ballpark cafeteria and had curry rice for 700 yen paid with PayPay. The games were between Sapporo Hiragishi 4-6 Hokkaido Science University High School, Sapporo Inagumo 5 (7c) 12x Sapporo Shiroishi, and Ishikari Minami 8x (7c) 0 Sapporo Kogyo. It was a nice experience at the Enzan Ballpark, where I used to watch Giants games as a child. The atmosphere was nostalgic and the food was satisfying.

I arrived at the high school baseball game before noon. Usually, I always have the katsu curry with mountain vegetable soba at the stadium, but this time I chose the curry rice for 650 yen. The curry sauce had a rich flavor and was delicious. If you ever have the chance to visit Maruyama Stadium, be sure to try it.

During the peak cherry blossom season, I walked to Maruyama Park. The temperature was below 10 degrees, making it chilly, but the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Some areas where banquets are usually held were roped off, so I couldn't have a proper hanami. I took a few photos of the cherry blossoms and continued my walk towards Maruyama Stadium. There was a youth baseball tournament taking place, so I had to get my temperature checked and write down my name before heading to the stands. I tried to watch the baseball game from the stands, but it was too cold to bear, so I left after about 10 minutes and sought refuge in the "Maruyama Stadium Cafeteria." I bought a ticket for "Tsukimi Soba @500" from the ticket machine at the entrance and handed it to the lady at the counter. There were plastic boards for preventing splashes on the tables. After a short wait, my order was ready. The soba noodles were soft, probably pre-cooked frozen noodles, and the broth was on the sweeter side, a bit too thick for my liking. I finished my meal quickly and left. I accidentally ended up eating soba, but I should have tried the curry, which is apparently named "Maruyama Curry." If I have the chance to revisit, I will definitely try that instead. Thank you for the meal.

If you're a Giants fan, you've probably used it at least once... Of course, Fighters fans from the Hillman generation should also know about it... The Showa Ballpark Cafeteria ☆ ■ Tempura Soba ¥600. Oh, it's been a while, it might be good... so I entered the shop... and I was surprised. As expected, times have changed... Tempura soba for 600 yen... has become high-end. By the way, my favorite pork cutlet curry for 850 yen is also surprising. But the fact that a place I have been familiar with for a long time is still thriving means that there is a certain management strategy behind it, and it made me think once again about the future of Japanese society. The staff working efficiently in the unchanged kitchen. Their skill and friendliness are simple and nice. When called, the tempura soba arrived... I sprinkled some shichimi spice on it at the counter and took it to my table. The sweet and salty broth with plenty of green onions complements the thin soba noodles nicely, and the freshly fried tempura was hot... It's a great fusion when you dip it in the broth. It is said that a ballpark will be built in Kitahiroshima in the near future, but I hope that this place will continue to be the holy land for Hokkaido baseball freaks. It was delicious. This year, I came to cheer on my son's alma mater's juniors. I finally got to eat the famous Maruyama Stadium curry that I missed out on last year! Of course, I brought it with me and enjoyed it behind the back net. It was a bit spicier than before, but still delicious. I wish it was a little spicier though. Eating curry behind the back net while watching baseball is amazing! The atmosphere is important. I wonder if I'll ever come back to eat it again. The team also won the game. Thank you for the meal.
