I visited after a live performance at Hitomi Memorial Hall of Showa Women's University. I was told they were playing the artist's music, so I ended up walking in. It was quite a bar, with a rich drink menu. I honestly didn't have high expectations for the food, so I ordered a plate of three appetizers. To my surprise, they were quite good! They had a stuffed green pepper that was more meat than pepper, a unique cold tofu, and I can't remember the last item because I got a bit tipsy, haha. The pickles I ordered separately were deliciously sour and well-made. However, some regular customers were really loud, making it hard to hear even my friend seated next to me, let alone the music. When I complained to the staff, they responded well, but the noise continued. The food was great, and the staff was really nice! I’ll definitely stop by again when I visit Tokyo, hoping that those noisy customers won't be there next time.

I visited BAR & GRILL WAKKU BAKKU, which is conveniently located close to Sangenjaya Station and open late at night. The place has a lively and casual atmosphere that makes it easy to enjoy your time. This time, I ordered a drink and the "Ginger Pork Udon" (1,250 yen). The fragrant ginger whetted my appetite, and the sweet and savory sauce clung beautifully to the chewy udon, creating an exquisite dish! The subtle spiciness from the ginger provided a nice accent, while the gentle Japanese flavor wrapped around me, giving a warm relief to my tired body. The generous toppings of vegetables added a satisfying crunch, keeping the texture interesting. The ginger pork pairs perfectly with white rice, so I recommend ordering it together. Overall, the portion was hearty and left me very satisfied. It’s nice that, as a late-night venue, they offer not just drinks but also warm meal options! The staff was friendly, and I enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere. I’m definitely looking forward to trying more of their creative dishes. This place is perfect for late-night dining or as a spot for a second or third outing in Sangenjaya!

A new restaurant opened in August this year. I noticed they had Ashikaga yakisoba on the menu, so I asked about it and learned that the owner is from Tochigi Prefecture. They recommended the silver cutlet, so I ordered that. I had the choice of one piece for 1,300 yen or two pieces for 1,800 yen, but the sweet flavor was quite strong, so one piece was probably enough for me. In essence, it was a pork cutlet that is served like a katsudon in a skillet. Lunch includes free refills of rice. Additionally, you get a salad and either miso soup or iced coffee, but I felt that it was a bit on the expensive side.

I visited this restaurant on a weekday afternoon. It just opened in August 2024, and in the evening, it operates as a standing bar while offering lunch during the day. Therefore, the seating consists mainly of high chairs, making it not very comfortable for leisurely dining. The interior has an open feel, especially on the road side. For lunch, you can choose between a katsu (breaded pork cutlet) and egg dish or the monthly special. I ordered the katsu and egg. Perhaps because they're still getting used to the operations, it took about 30 minutes for my dish to arrive. It came in a skillet, piping hot. The katsu was a bit tough but crispy, and it paired well with the sweet sauce, making it delicious.

The dishes cooked right in front of you on the grill provide a great live experience. I highly recommend the silver egg Danish sandwich; it paired perfectly with the melting cheese. The diced steak made on the grill, along with garlic butter rice, was also very delicious. You can enjoy a hearty meal, and the owner is entertaining, making it a fun place to drink.
