I used this place for a drinking party. It’s just a one-minute walk from Hasunuma Station, and you can also walk from JR Kamata Station. The interior is spacious, so it’s great for large groups, and there’s also a counter, making it suitable for one person as well! Since it specializes in Kyushu cuisine, it’s guaranteed to be delicious. I didn’t try the hotpot, but we had dishes like sesame kanpachi, thick omelet tempura, yakitori, deep-fried sweet shrimp, and karashi renkon, all of which were tasty. My favorite was the thick omelet tempura! It was unusual, and once I tried it, it was incredibly delicious. I’m not sure if the sweetness of the egg was from the tempura batter or if it was already sweet. When we ordered shochu by the bottle, we were surprised to receive a one-sho bottle. We finished it off neatly among three people and ended up pretty tipsy on our way home. Also, if you write a postcard and send it, you can receive fried chicken equal to your age as a birthday gift during your birthday month. I heard from others that it doesn’t have to be on the same day, so I might be able to go more than once during my birthday month!

In the spring of 2024, I visited a restaurant in Kamata, Tokyo, with Mr. Y and his child during the evening part of the tour. The interior has a rustic, country-style design, featuring a tatami mat area and dim lighting that creates a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant specializes in Kyushu cuisine, so we started with the "Hakata Beef Motsunabe," which is a light soy sauce base that tastes delicious. It pairs perfectly with beer and sake. We also tried the recommended dishes like "Hakata Goma Kanpachi" and "Chicken Wing Karaage," and everything was tasty. The staff were very kind to us, and I’d like to thank them. There are a lot of items on the menu, so I definitely want to visit again! (laughs)

There is a new izakaya that opened nearby, and I finally got the chance to visit. The staff were young and provided a very pleasant service. The food was delicious, and the selection of drinks was quite good (except for the wine, which I wouldn't recommend). I visited on a Saturday night, and to my surprise, it was quite busy, which made me happy. I hope they continue to thrive as a local izakaya! There were some menu items that were sold out, so I definitely want to return and enjoy more.

I was a bit disappointed that the motsunabe I knew wasn't as good as the delicious dumplings.

I haven't eaten karashi renkon in a long time.

The rice is delicious, and the staff is kind!
