Finally, the line wasn't too long so I decided to buy it! Today at Daimaru, I was looking for tomorrow's breakfast and there were about 5 or 6 people in line in front of Norseman. I thought, "Alright, this is my chance!" and confidently got in line! Lucky me! I wonder what it tastes like. Looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast! Addition: The sweets I had just now were really delicious even though they weren't too sweet! The whipped cream was delicious! The red bean paste was disappointing, but I prefer chunky anyway. Haha - but still delicious!

I received a souvenir from Northman for the first time in a while. The harmony of the pie crust and sweet red bean paste was delicious. I would like to try the fresh Northman next time. I've never been able to buy it whenever I go (T ^ T). Thank you for the meal.

In Sapporo, Northman is popular for souvenirs. I went around 3 pm on a weekday and there was a long line of about 30 people. The most popular item is the fresh Northman, which needs to be refrigerated and contains sweet red bean paste wrapped in pie crust with fresh cream. The regular version is fine at room temperature and only has sweet red bean paste. I think the fresh Northman is tastier. After I bought mine, they put up a sign saying they were sold out.

Now, I ended up buying some Western sweets that I didn't even want to buy at first (but they turned out to be delicious, so now I think it was a good purchase). However, my original goal was to get some Noix de Saint Jacques, so I couldn't give up. When I went to the Noix de Saint Jacques store, there was still a line, and it was even farther away from the store. But I was determined to wait no matter what. When I went to the line further away, there were only two people waiting. And guess what? I was able to purchase them in about 10 minutes. Since I was already there, I also bought some regular Noix de Saint Jacques. The Noix de Saint Jacques were individually packaged, and when I opened the bag, the crispy pie had a wonderful aroma. The pie crust had plenty of butter kneaded into it. Inside, there was plenty of fresh cream and sweet bean paste. The pie crust was thin, allowing the fresh cream and sweet bean paste to stand out even more. They asked if I wanted a cooling pack for when I took them home. It seems they are even more delicious when eaten chilled. I enjoyed them very much! Thank you for the delicious meal.

In June 2023, on the last day in Hokkaido, I went to get a ticket for "Japanese Ramen Noodle Lab Q" first thing in the morning. While waiting for the opening time, I strolled around Sapporo Station and then headed to Daimaru Sapporo. At the B1F Hokkaido confectionery section "Northman," I lined up 30 minutes before the department store opened to get the "Northman" pastries. The store opened at 10 am and I was able to get the "Northman" pastries. I bought a box of 4 for 980 yen. By the way, when I returned to New Chitose Airport, I found out they were selling "Northman" pastries at Futoo, and there was no line at all. I brought them home and immediately tried them. The thin pastry crust is filled with plenty of fresh cream and elegant sweet red bean paste, and it was delicious! I wish I had bought another box at the airport. Lesson learned. Thank you for the meal!

I used to think that I had to line up in the morning to buy it, but around 2:00 p.m., there was a line, so I peeked to see what it was. They were selling fresh Norseman. One box contains 4 pieces, and I also bought a cooling bag for ¥1130. I had just arrived at Daimaru, but if I finished my other shopping first, it would be sold out, so I bought it first and put it in the cooling locker for ¥100. The expiration date is the day after tomorrow. The Norseman has a perfect balance of sweet red bean paste and the buttery flavor of the pie crust, making it very easy to eat and a favorite of mine. Plus, with the added cream, it became a satisfying dessert. Thank you for thinking of it, Chishuian.

I received the popular product "Nama Norseman" from Chishuuan on June 1st. Even now, when I visit Daimaru, I often see it sold out or with a long line waiting. Today, my wife bought it as a souvenir for our home. I'm not a big fan of Norseman or sweet bean paste, but it's always interesting to see the popularity and long lines. The classic pie crust with added sweet bean paste and fresh cream. The sweet bean paste itself seems to be the same as before, but according to the information sheet, they peel the red beans and do a "shibu-kiri" process. In the past, red beans were boiled and the tannins from the skin were extracted by discarding the water, but in this case, they peel the skin first. This may result in a lighter color for the sweet bean paste, but since the caramel coloring is included in the ingredients of the sweet bean paste made with the skin, they may be adjusting the color here. The combination of sweet bean paste and fresh cream is excellent, and since Norseman is already delicious, there's no way it could taste bad. Currently sold in a box of 4 for 980 yen, the packaging also has a cool Nordic design. Chishuuan opened a new store and introduced new products last October, but at the same time, they have become a subsidiary of Hokkaido Confect Group (owner of Kinotoya and others). There have also been reports of Chishuuan stores closing down... Seems like there's a lot going on. Thank you for the meal.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2023, after seeing it on TV, I visited a store in Sapporo Station near Daimaru that sells fresh cream puffs. There was a line of about 20 people, but I waited for about 15 minutes before it was my turn. I bought 3 boxes as souvenirs because I was heading back to New Chitose Airport. I paid, received the souvenirs in cool bags, and headed to the airport. When I got home, I tried one and the combination of red bean paste and fresh cream was delicious. The people I gave the souvenirs to were very happy.

There was a long line at the Sapporo Daimaru for the popular pastry shop "Nama Northman" even on a weekday before opening. I initially lined up at the main entrance on the basement floor, but it turned out I was in the wrong line and had to move to a different spot for Nama Northman. I found the correct line 3 minutes before opening and there were about 20 people ahead of me. Even after the store opened, more people kept joining the line. I was finally guided into the shop after waiting for 25 minutes. I received a cute insulated bag for 150 yen that can keep items cool for up to 3 hours. The anko pie with milk cream inside was worth the wait and truly delicious!

My partner bought the highly sought-after raw Norseman in Sapporo. There were 4 in the box, one for each family member. We took a photo on the table and put them in the fridge. The next day, when I went to have my first raw Norseman, they were gone. It seems the family had already eaten them. Although I usually avoid sweet treats, I don't dislike them. When I asked my partner for their opinion, they said it was just average. I'm not sure if I should line up for them next time.

Finally got to buy it. The whipped cream is really delicious. I wish I could buy it anytime soon so I could become a repeat customer (laughs). The taste is exceptional now that I finally got to buy it. It's worth waiting in line for. Let's line up, let's line up~

I was struggling to choose a souvenir from Hokkaido when I came across Northman, which was being featured in various media and SNS. I was worried about whether I could buy the refrigerated Northman with fresh cream before my flight, but luckily I managed to get the last one. I purchased two types: one that can be stored at room temperature in a blue box with smooth red bean paste, and one that needs to be refrigerated in a white box with fresh cream and chunky red bean paste. It was a fantastic treat for those who love red bean paste and whipped cream. The only concern was the short shelf life of 2 days.

This is delicious! The combination of red bean paste and whipped cream is exquisite! The buttery flavor of the pie is also great! The pie is moist in some parts where it has absorbed moisture! It seems that with the change in leadership, the new young president has brought fresh ideas, and the recent rebranding of the classic "Norwegian" pastry is impressive! It's amazing to see the long lines at Daimaru department store's basement every day, proving that there are still loyal fans. Applause for the new traditional yet innovative pastry "Norwegian"!

Around 11:00 on a regular day, I happened to be wandering around and had a chance to buy without waiting in line! So I decided to go for it! I've always loved the normal Norseman! And I love whipped cream! I'm excited to see how delicious they are together! The Creamy Norseman. The red bean paste is a bit faint. Maybe a little more cream would be nice. Haha I bought it once and I'm satisfied.

I was hoping to buy the Northman with cream filling as a souvenir from Daimaru Sapporo, and luckily I was able to get it! It seems to sell out quickly, so I had good timing. The Northman with 4 pieces costs 980 yen. The crispy and moist pastry filled with mildly sweet red bean paste and plenty of cream is a perfect harmony. It's delicious without a doubt. I thought the cream might be a bit too much, but the overall balance was good and the aftertaste was nice. I think I can go for a second one right away. Highly recommended! Thank you for the meal.

When I purchased it before, I was able to buy it smoothly. This time, I had to purchase the regular Norseman with a ticket because the fresh Norseman was being sold with a ticket system. The fresh Norseman I bought at a Tokyo event had cream inside and didn't last long. The regular Norseman is perfect for souvenirs, so I bought that instead.

This is a place located on the basement floor of Daimaru Sapporo store in Chuo-ku, North 5th Street, West 4th Street. For more detailed location information, please check the floor map of Daimaru Sapporo store. It seems that my companion went shopping in the city and bought something at the Norseman specialty store in Daimaru Sapporo store. I will enjoy it at home. As expected, it's "Norseman" in its raw form, stored nicely in the refrigerator. Let's take one out and first check the cross-section. The pie crust contains sweet bean paste and whipped cream. Let's try it. The pie crust is soft, the bean paste inside is mildly sweet, and the whipped cream is also relatively mild in sweetness with a fluffy texture. When eaten together, it tastes like a Western-style pastry. I wouldn't normally buy "Norseman" to eat at home, so I recommend storing it in the freezer for next time.

I arrived at New Chitose Airport around 11 am on Saturday and went straight to Chitose-an inside the airport, but they were already sold out of their morning batches! Determined to try it, I checked into my hotel and headed to Daimaru instead. I arrived around 1 pm and they were still giving out tickets with no problem. I waited in line for about 30 minutes and finally got my hands on it. It was indeed very delicious. The packaging is cute too, so it seems like a great souvenir to bring back.

I was able to buy the fresh Norseman that I had been wanting to try, as they were distributing tickets for it. It was a pack of 4 for 980 yen, with a cooling case for 100 yen. The expiration date was 3 days, and it needed to be stored in a cold place (below 10℃). The balance of fresh cream and red bean paste was good and delicious!

I tried the popular dessert called "Norseman" from a pastry shop called Senchuan in Sapporo. It's a raw version of the dessert, meaning it has cream inside. The shop is located in the basement food section of Daimaru Department Store near Sapporo Station, and you need a ticket to purchase it. It comes in a pack of 4. I had it as a dessert after dinner. The taste was okay, nothing special. The cream was light, but the sweetness of the red bean paste was more dominant. The butter in the pie crust seemed less than the regular Norseman. Overall, it was tasty but not extraordinary. Just my personal opinion.
