釣りするカツオに食べるカツオ
Before starting a blog, my wife and I used to visit "Aimai-san" together. I decided to visit Aimai-san after a long time. Aimai-san is located at 2-2-28 Tenjinbashi, Kita-ku, Osaka City, on the 2nd floor of Nagai Building. The nearest stations are "Minamimorimachi" on the Osaka Metro and "Osaka Tenmangu" on the JR Tozai Line, both about a 5-minute walk away. I arrived at the shop at 12:00. The shop is on the 2nd floor, and there is a large real estate sign that can be easy to miss. Aimai-san is located on the opposite side of Lawson in Tenjinbashi 2-chome shopping street. If it's sold out, the sign will flip to "Sold Out." While it's open, they offer today's curry. The shop is closed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The opening hours are 11:00-13:30, with evening hours on Wednesdays from 18:00 until sold out (usually around 19:30). If Monday, Wednesday, or Friday is a holiday, they will be closed. The owner mentioned that they use one day for preparation, hence the schedule. I made my own blog and Instagram business cards a while after starting the blog, and one of the purposes of this visit is to put them up. The signboard on the entrance is the landmark. It's easy to miss because of the large real estate sign. I went up the stairs, and the spicy catchphrase will leave a lasting memory! I arrived at Aimai-san and disinfected my hands at the entrance. I got permission to take photos and sat at a table. The counter seats were full of regular customers. I didn't know that Aimai-san was on Instagram, so I left a comment on a post before my visit. I informed the owner that I received a reply to my comment. The curry is priced at 1,000 yen per dish, and adding meat (beef) costs an additional 400 yen. You can order three types of curry - "Koakuma" (medium spicy), "Majo" (very spicy), and "Jikosekinin" (extremely spicy), and you can adjust the proportions yourself. The regular rice portion is 300g, and you can get a large serving of 500g. You can also get extra rice and curry. My husband ordered the "Triple" (Koakuma, Majo, Jikosekinin) with a large serving and extra meat, while I only had Koakuma. Aimai-san operates on a prepayment basis. After settling the bill, the owner quickly served our orders. The speed of service is one of the attractions, but whether you can eat quickly depends on your tolerance for spiciness! It's a bit difficult to tell which curry is which at first glance. It's better to confirm with the owner and start with the least spicy one! The "Jikosekinin" is really spicy, and if you eat it first, your tongue will get numb, making everything else spicy. The curry is simmered thoroughly and has a thick texture with a unique blend of spices and a moderate level of spiciness. We ate each curry step by step, starting from Koakuma, then Majo, and finally Jikosekinin. The pickled carrots and cabbage on the counter have a mild acidity that complements the spiciness of the curry. The curry was delicious, especially with the generous amount of beef tendon meat added. The sweetness of the tendon meat perfectly matched the deep spiciness of the curry. The Jikosekinin made me sweat a lot and was really hot! Spicy curry in the hot summer is my favorite! I enjoyed the meal with a refill of curry and by crushing the egg yolk to make it milder. I left the shop after thanking the owner, feeling satisfied and happy with a full stomach.
