ZELDA
<location>From the Michi-no-Eki "Minami-Furano" along Route 38, head towards Furano for about 800m and you will see a two-story drive-in called "Iku-ra" on the right side. Go towards the back of that building and you will see a forest, where you can find "Ninguru" further back. There is a small sign along the road, but it is easy to miss if you are not paying attention. Coming from the direction of Furano, you will see it right after passing Yama-be and crossing the Jukai-toge (Sanno-yama-toge).
<car park> There are a few dedicated parking spaces facing the forest behind the drive-in "Iku-to" along the national highway. It is said that complaints may be received if you park in the front of the drive-in unknowingly.
<shop> A two-story building serving as both a residence and a shop stands quietly in the back of the forest. The owner found this place 15 years ago and renovated the building themselves, even making the shop sign with a chainsaw. Upon entering, you take off your shoes and put on slippers. The cozy interior features original T-shirts, handmade ocarinas by the owner who is also a ceramic artist, and you can even experience making your own original T-shirt, bandana, and ocarina for 3500 yen with delivery available.
<food> The handmade menu includes pizza, gratin, curry, pasta, omelets, hamburgers, cakes, and drinks. We ordered the "Omelet Curry," a collaboration of curry that took three days to prepare and a fluffy omelet, and the "Potato Pizza." The lunch set comes with a vegetable salad and a drink, and for an additional 250 yen, it can be upgraded to a cake set.
<hospitality> We asked the owner why they chose to start a shop here, and they replied, "Where to do it is up to the person's way of thinking." Despite the challenging location in the outskirts of Ikutora, where the temperature can drop below -20°C in winter and only about one out of a hundred cars passing by may notice the shop, the owner chose this place as the ideal location to express their thoughts and feelings. By the end of the meal, we began to understand the charm of this place and why it was chosen.
